Beautiful fall spot. Just be prepared for the rough and very narrow terrain getting there. Watch out for dead falling trees when the heavy wind kicks up. We got to see it first hand and it was a little nerve racking.

Beautiful hike. A little cold in the morning but you for sure start warming up fast. If youre not used to high elevation you will definitely start feeling it right away.

Classic Autumn scenery amid a forest of Aspen trees turned yellow in early October. The trail itself is rough, full of rocks and tree roots but well worth the effort. Hiking boots and hiking stick highly recommended. Be are to bring plenty of water and some food.

The trailhead itself is gorgeous but the road up is not for the faint of heart. Its very narrow and and steep and would be best to navigate with an off road vehicle or vehicle with four wheel drive

Great fall hike. Okay, the drive was pretty scary but everyone was very respectful and waited for oncoming traffic. It wasnt as busy as I thought which is great. I didnt think the hike was that hard, but it is on an incline. Once you get to the inner basin which I like to call the aspen wonderland you truly feel like youre on a different hike. Nothing but beautiful golden leaves that were all over. The trees still had leaves when I went two weeks ago. Took my pup. Had a great time. Nothing like the crisp fall smell.

So beautiful, fresh and scenic.BEWARE, the road leading to it is dangerous. We had no idea but so long as you calculate where you go, drive slowly and carefully.

A beautiful hike, which means it is very busy. As of 10/15/20 the road going in is quite poor. You can make it in a passenger car with a bit of clearance but you have to go slow, today we saw a truck with a smashed oil pan that had not been driving slowly and carefully enough.

Beautiful trail in October, full with Aspen trees. Very peaceful trail if you get there early to avoid traffic. Bit stiff but lots of kids and dogs can handle it. Its worth to get there for nice day trip from Phoenix♡

My wife and I did this about a month ago without kids. And good thing, I dont know if it would have been as good with 35 extra pounds. But it was absolutely beautiful up there. And by up there I mean half way up the back side of the mountain. The drive up could be a bit much for some that doesnt like heights. You are on a unmaintained gravel road over looking the country side. The drive is completely worth it though.

This was an incredibly beautiful hike! The aspens were gorgeous and so thick. It was a great workout and a nice steady climb. The only issues we have is that the road to get to it was pretty rough, the inner basin itself was a little anticlimactic, and the signage seemed very off on the distances posted (according to three Apple watches and two FitBits). But I would still do it again!

Great but needs to charge a hefty day use fee and have rangers and make it a loop road... Rangers would be useful for the people who bring their dogs off leash as well and discharge firearms around people who are hiking.

Stunning Autumn leaves! Drive up is about 20 minutes on a dirt road with switchbacks, but its worth it.

The drive can feel treacherous at times. You have to drive up a steep dirt hill without guard rails. But once you get there, its completely worth it. Theres nothing like it in Arizona. The aspens will take your breath away.

Beautiful during fall colors time but make sure you get there early in the morning. Before 7am! We got there at 1pm and they were turning people away because the parking lot (with 50 spots) was full with 170 cars! The last 2 miles of the drive is a two track gravel road in the side of the mountain. It was very nerve racking and treacherous. Im glad there were no cars coming down as we were going up.Beautiful hike and would have normally been easy but the altitude made it a little more challenging.
