This course has so much potential but the long-term consistent maintenance is lacking having played this course, and its predecessor names (Hawthorne Hills & Mud Creek) over the decades. The teeboxes are an undulating mess. The fairways are marginal. The greens are ok but need upgraded in speed and durability. They need to hire the folks who do Fox Prairie’s greens. It would help if more players repaired their ballmarks.

I play Ironwood every week with my companys golf league. The 3 9-hole courses offer something for all skill levels. The course is also adorned with beautiful landscaping and wood sculptures made from trees that were previously cut down.

Well I tried to play as a single today and was rudely turned down. I also told them I was happy to paired with another group. Still said the they where to busy. I thanked them and returned to my car. I would not have written this review if they where not so rude about it. As I was walking back I saw a single tee off so I decided to wait and watch groups go off. Next a twosome then a foursome then another twosome and last another twosome. With at least a ten to 15 min interval between them witch I understand. This reminds me of why I tend to not play this course. Just not very accommodating.

I used to enjoy this course, but havent been playing it as much in the last few years and I think this past Saturday will be the last time ever. We got a lot of rain on Friday and this course sits very low, so understandably there was some water on it. 9 of the 27 holes were closed due to water so there was a major back-up on the first tee. Im fine with all of this so far, course cant control the weather. Then we start playing......there was standing water in the middle of the fairways on several holes. I lost multiple balls IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FAIRWAY! One of the par 4s was turned into a par 3 because of the water. None of this was mentioned to us upon check-in, and we were charged the normal Saturday morning rate. Had we been told, I probably would have just left, or at the very least only played if the fee was significantly reduced. The message sent by the course is- we care more about collecting your money than providing a quality golf experience. Well, they wont be getting anymore of my money. Besides, you can find much better courses for the same money around here.

Ironwood golf course is an excellent challenge for women, juniors, and average to sratch golfers in the Fishers area. There are two excellent course that are maintained in outstanding condition with modest price green fees. The lronwood clubhouse is well stocked with golf equipment and golf apparel. Your play may require a reserved tee time because this a popular stop for golfers in the Fishers area.

Played the Lakes and the Ridge course on Sunday morning 8/26. The Lakes 9 holes was in atrocious shape. The tee box on hole 2 was a joke, and looked like it hadnt been groomed in years. There were also beer cans everywhere, and the greens and fairways were also awful. The Ridge 9 hole course was in better shape, although the greens were very inconsistent as some had been cut, and others had not. Overall the course was in very poor condition. I know it rained a significant amount yesterday, but having weeds almost 2 ft. tall on the tee boxes is a joke. Save your time and money and play somewhere else. Definitely not worth $45 for a weekend morning rate. Will not be going back.

Course was in horrible condition, not sure they own a mower. Greens burned, tee boxes over grown. They started 5 groups at the same time on Labor Day, made for a long round and overpriced for course conditions. At least bar tender was nice to look at.

Ironwood is a fun course but its seen better days. Its in pretty rough shape currently. The tee boxes have no grass, there is knee high rough all over, and the greens are beat up and have mold issues. This is not a $50.00 golf course.

4 or 5 years ago, this was a golf course worth playing. Today it is a shadow of its former self. It is a crime for them to charge full price for the course currently being offered. The Lakes 9 in particular should be closed until it becomes playable again. NOTHING on this 9 is in good shape, the tee boxes are eaten up and unkept, the fairways are like goat fields and they have lost the greens. I wish I could find something nice to say about our experience today, but I can not. DO Not Play the LAKES 9 until they can assure you it is a golf course again.

Absolutely beautiful layout, you can tell this was once a wonderful golf course with the potential of being one again under the right management with proper maintenance and upkeep. Just because I played it in September shouldnt mean I shouldnt be hitting off un-mowed tee boxes and long thick greens with dirt patches scattered everywhere on a Sunday morning 8am tee time. I only saw a couple bunkers on the primary 18 that could be treated as normal sand shots. Most bunkers would have to be played either as if the ball were on a solid surface or simply played as ground under repair despite there being no signs of repair being done. The one saving grace of this course is the layout, its gorgeous and challenging, and if time and money were reinvested in this course, it would be regular play for me as I live in the area. Theres no excuses for grass as tall as my teed-up ball on a tee box though. As Ive noticed this year with the other RN Thompson-owned courses in the city, theyre not being kept up with which tells me the group is no longer capable of remaining competitive in the golf scene. 2016 is the worst condition Ive ever seen Eagle Creek in and that has long been a staple course of mine year in and year out. I will not return to Ironwood anytime soon, as another person said, theres plenty of courses in the area that charge similar fees and keep their courses in much better condition. I wont spend $49 on below-average playing conditions. Ironwood should close their third 9-hole course and focus their resources on maintaining their beautiful primary 18.

For the price, this golf course isnt worth it at all. Paying $49 is robbery. I wouldnt pay more than $30 to play here because this course plays like other $30 courses Ive played. The first (and probably last) time I ever played here I shot a 78 from the tips. Not a long course at all. The only challenging part is trying to get your ball to land on decent grass in the fairway! The greens are not well maintained. I had to move my ball on a couple greens so that I wouldnt be putting through canyons. Tee boxes werent in good shape either. There are plenty of MUCH nicer courses for the SAME price in the area.

Just played this afternoon. Absolutely HORRENDOUS and UNACCEPTABLE conditions... I was a member at this course a few years ago and hadnt the course in awhile. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE save your $40+ (RIPOFF) and go ELSEWHERE! Fairways were 2-3 inches long and entire course looked as if it hadnt been mown in 8-9 days. This place is going to pot. Sad to see but cant say Im surprised. This just seems to be par for the course for this facility sadly... and, oh yeah, dont plan to practice any chipping before your round because the short game area is COMPLETELY overgrown. And, one more thing, the greens on the course are AWFUL. Im an avid golfer and I play A LOT of golf. These greens are the slowest I can remember playing EVER. Around a 5 on the stimp meter. JUST PLEASE DO NOT PLAY HERE! Ill never go back again. This facility is a DISGRACE to the city of Fishers.

This is Fred Hagemier , My son paid $44.00 for a Value card for Christmas ,I used this card today June 30 . This is where the insult started. I am 68 years old. My buddy who was with me is 76 years old, We should only have had to pay 29.00 each as seniors , my buddy paid 30.00 dollars and I had to pay 29.00 .The person at the counter kept stating that the price is $58.00 and Im getting a break. some break, I paid full price as senior and my buddy paid $1.00 more This is with the value card. Some one owes my son $44.00 for this useless value card. Is this card Just a scam or what? oh and the clerk said that sense i had this value card I Dont even geta receipt only my buddy received one.
