We chose Aurora Pointe as the location of our reception, and it was perfect! I am incredibly happy to recommend their venue to anyone. Julie, Kory, and Debbie were professional and accommodating throughout the entire booking and set-up process, especially during this strange COVID season. They went above and beyond to make our experience straightforward and stress-free. I was impressed countless times with the lovely venue, the great services, and the incredible kindness of the staff. Thank you!!! What an exceptional venue for Fairbanks.

The lodge is beautiful and the general view of the outlook is gorgeous; even the services offered appeared really awesome. The thing that persuaded me to rate significantly lower was because of one of the women working there. She seemed to be the one in charge and overall had a very dismissive, condescending, and bitter manner. She penalized guests for ludicrous things and was rude throughout the entire event which the location had been utilized for. Despite their other reviews and the fact that this was only my first time there, I doubt I would ever return of my own volition and I will definitely never recommend this location to anyone - it is worth losing out on the views if it means you get friendly and considerate service, the people make the place after all.

Amazing experience! We had such a great time and so glad we booked this place. Hot tea, coffee, cookies (delicious!!!), atmosphere, fireplace to stay warm, everything was perfect. We also all received professional photos with aurora, its so hard to capture it with regular phone camera, so very grateful for that!:) Thank you!

This place is amazing!!! I had a great time taking pictures and learning so much about aurora and the science behind it. Kory really knows his stuff and I would highly recommend coming here. (FYI the best time to see the Aurora Borealis is between September 21st and April 21st).

Absolutely, hands down, there is no better way and no better place to view the Aurora than at Aurora Pointe with Kory. He has built the coolest viewing facility with a fireplace, comfortable sofas, chairs, tables, etc. He provides hot coffee, wine, beer, cookies, etc. He has outdoor seating and outdoor fire pits. Very clean modern restrooms. Kory has technology that helps monitor whats happening and shares that to a big screen tv and teaches you how to know when to get outside so you dont miss the lights. He gives a presentation to make you more knowledgeable. compare this to sitting in a car or van and having a bucket for a restroom. Kory took pictures all night with my family in front of the Northern Lights and shares them with us to memorialize our visit. This could not be more well done! If you want to see the northern lights, come to Fairbanks, AK and book in advance with Aurora Pointe Activity Center!

This was such an amazing experience! It was a once in a lifetime experience and the guys here made it absolutely phenomenal! It felt like we were hanging out with family. They were so inviting and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We were able to warm up and have have some snacks that they provided and if we wanted to there were games for us to play. If we ever comeback, we will definitely go here again. I will always reccomend them!

Aurora Pointe is the best place to see the Northern Lights in the Fairbanks area. The lodge is clean , comfortable, and like new. Cory, the director and owner, is friendly as well as knowledgeable. On top of all this, Aurora Pointe is easy to get to and a great value for the money. We went twice!

Great place with great people. Kory is great, he explains some of the science behind the Aurora. Shows you some websites to get a perspective to activity. Cost is very reasonable, and he has coffee, tea, water and hot chocolate. Kory watches all night for the Aurora and will let you know when she is active......and you can always check for yourself. He will even take your picture and give that to you as part of the fee you paid. We went 2 nights and should have went 4 to increase your odds at seeing a great show. Book him if your in town, he is a short drive from town, about 15 min.

Great place to look for the Northern lights! It’s warm and cozy inside while you wait. On the plus side Cory will take your picture if you want with the Auroras in the background (when possible) and provide access to all his pictures for the month at no additional charge. We took another tour where we were charged $75 for 3 pictures! Everything is digital so same day access is provided.

I did alot of research and selected Aurora Pointe as one of our options. Cory was extremely knowledgable, gave us a great education and was available for any and all questions. We loved that the lodge had plenty of games to keep you occupied while waiting for the Aurora to appear. Unfortunately, for us, the Aurora did not appear on our night, however, the bonus of getting Corys photos of the Aurora during the month of February left us definitely recommending this place to others.

Great experience, altough the northern lights decided not to appear very bright the night I went here, Corey made the experience awesome. He explains you all the science behind the lights, all the factors that need to combine for them to appear and he is very pacient with everyone. He and his family have created a great space for you to wait with a lot of board games, coffee, hot chocolate, home made cookies, wine and more. I definitely recommend this place.Bonus ! He can take you a picture with the lights and he wont charge you extra for it. Of course you can leave a tip.

OMG this place is a pleasant surprise. Best place to see Northern Lights in Fairbanks. It is just far enough outside Fairbanks CBD was I avoid all light pollution and just close enough that you don’t to drive forever to get back to the city. The place is basically a super comfy place to hang in the warmth while waiting for the Aurora to show. They have coffee, games, Booze ( well I did at least). Kory the owner had put up big screens with preview of what is going on outside. So u can chill and just go outside for the lights casually. Not corporate, Very professional but very local and with Great stories, I overheard Kory talk about how one of his guests, sent his son’s toy Into space because he knows people at NASA. I don’t care if it is true or not. The point is, it is a fun place to watch the Aurora in all its glory. And a fun place to hang out and be comfortable with your hosts and friends. Last But not least the Aurora is very common here and super awesome while we were here.

We traveled with our adult children and their spouses to Fairbanks for my husbands 75th birthday with the express desire of seeing the Aurora Borealis. After much research, we decided to visit Aurora Pointe for two nights with the hope that the elusive Aurora might show in the night sky. Although no more than 20 minutes from Fairbanks, the Aurora Pointe Activity Center is well situated to take advantage of the dark night sky. Our host, Kory, was knowledgeable and super friendly and we had a tour director from a bus tour on the first night who explained much of the science behind the lights. The lounge area has clean, indoor restrooms and the lounge itself is well stocked with complimentary drinks, homemade cookies, and games to while away the time as we awaited the magic of the lights. There is also free WiFi and a live outdoor aurora webcam so we would not miss anything. The first night we saw some light pillars which are an unusual phenomena but no aurora. However, on our second night, we were blessed with a beautiful display of the Aurora Borealis! Kory did an excellent job of making sure we saw it all. He has a new camera with a special lens and he took photographs of all the visitors with the aurora in the background. We had a truly amazing time and I would highly recommend this venue for viewing the aurora.

Oh my gosh! I enjoyed this place. Julie and Kory were the host and when I got there the place was very cozy and comfortable. They offer games, drinks coffee tea etc and baked goods. They have a screen showing the aurora lights LIVE so when its strong you can go out and Julie can take pictures of you with the lights. She uses a special camera that captures the northern lights because with my cell phone camera I could not catch the lights as good as she did. I also got to meet some very nice people at the centre and enjoyed my visit there with them. All in all I am glad I came here versus my venturing alone to see the northern lights because I would have never taken the pictures Julie took. Thumbs Up! Great Memory. Also the night skies were clear and I got to see the Orion Stars and the Big Dipper Stars....such a beautiful site of Gods creation.

I came to Alaska by myself in Dec. 2019 for just under a week. I wanted to do as much as I could while I was here and I was really hoping to see the Northern Lights! I was shocked when I saw how pricey tours were when I knew youd just be standing outside freezing (around $150-200+) Seeing how affordable this place was I was skeptical but it had good reviews so I gave them a try and booked a spot. While we were only able to see a faint glow of lights the experience was worth it! The room they have you in is really nice and its comfy, lots of places to sit, they had snacks and warm drinks available to people along with games and a fireplace. Any time they thought wed get a good glimpse of Aurora theyd let us know and wed all bundle up to head outside. Staying awake is a bit tough! (not gonna lie, I fell asleep sitting up on the couch with another lady haha and I just kept setting my phone for 20 mins naps) but Kory and his team were very friendly, answered any questions, and made the experience fun. You cant beat them for the price and location!

A wonderful evening and experience!!! Julie was a great host and shared lots of knowledgeable information about the Northern Lights. We thought the evening was going to be a bust but at 1:50 am as a tour bus was pulling out (they had given up, but we were staying until the very end) the lights decided to show up! And they were beautiful! Dancing across the sky! We can’t wait to see the photos! This was a great location to hang out and pass the time while waiting for the lights to show. Would definitely come back. So much easier than trying to drive around and find a good viewing point on our own.

The Aurora Pointe center was the perfect location for our winter wedding!Fortunately, the temperature was bearable to pop outside for the ceremony, so we could enjoy the sunset with the most beautiful view as we said I do!The layout indoors made a perfect place for our reception. We opted for a half day and then a few of us stayed for the Aurora tour at nighttime. The fire place was a nice touch for our guests to warm up after standing outside with us. There is plenty of room for dancing, eating and playing games! Our wedding was planned in five weeks. Speaking with Julie from the beginning of planning, really helped us pin point the important details of a wedding. She is super friendly, organized, informative and on the day, she was nothing but helpful. (She even dragged a dogsled up the hill, so we could use it forphotographs!) We appreciate all of yours and your staffs help on the day!We are very grateful Julie and Korey, that you hosted our wedding at short notice, most weddings have at least one year of planning right? And Thank you for letting our fur child be apart of our day. I think it is incredible what you have built ! And the view makes it even more lovely!Thank you so much.Kayleigh and Nick

So glad I chose here to view the aurora! I was only in Fairbanks for one night and got so lucky that the lights were out. Julie and Korey were amazing hosts- cant say enough good things about them. They are super friendly and very knowledgable. Theyve created a beautiful facility to keep you warm while you wait for the lights to make an appearance. The heated lodge is stocked with warm drinks and games. Cameras are set up so you can keep an eye on the sky without having to stand out in the cold the entire night. On top of all this, they take gorgeous photos of you in front of the aurora and upload them to a Google drive for you to save and share (if you only have your phone or point and shoot, youll be sorely disappointed with your own photos so APACs pics are really a godsend). Overall APAC is a great place to view the aurora and I would highly recommend them to anyone travelling to Fairbanks.
