The Halloween drive through is a great alternative to neighborhood trick or treating. Family friendly. Proceeds benefit local Scouts BSA Troops.
Bad lighting. It was an extremely disappointing experience. Most lights were haphazardly put up and several sections had no lights at all. Hopefully it improves as the season progresses...
We will forever have awesome memories of the Ice Art Park! The staff was amazing from the moment we met. The ice sculptures were beautiful and our son, Matthew, had a blast on the ice slides!! Our family visited Fairbanks, in February, for our sons Make-a-Wish. His wish was to see snow. But, our experience was so much more than expected!! Everyone made us feel at home and was so helpful and kind. We plan to return in the near future. Until then, we will have many great memories!!
The ice slides are great for little and adult kids. We showed up in mid March with some warmer than usual temperatures. So the sculptures were starting to melt. However we still had a great time and still appreciated the artistry that it takes to sculpt the temporary works of art. Most carved from one piece locally sourced from a quarry lake.
This place was pretty cool. We loved the slide made of ice. Be careful, you go down pretty darn fast. Also, it was pretty hard to find this place. Not a lot of signs to direct you. It didnt even showed up on Google. We are glad, we manage to find it by opening the maps and following the little roads that lead us to this park.
It was so fun! Kids love it, I was impressed by those massive ice sculptures. What an amazing job that was done. Make sure you bundle up it can get really windy. Must see!! I wish I could have gone at night, the place is lit up but if you cant still worth seeing in the day. More fun with kids.
Spent an hour and a half here with 3 adults and 4 children age 4 and under. We were the only ones there during the day. They werent done yet, so we saw multiple artists working on sculptures, but they had about 15 ice slides already done that we enjoyed. The kids loved all the fun slides. Wished we had brought or bought a sled. The largest slide on the hill had snow on it, so our slides down werent as fast as they could be. Some of the smaller slides were surprisingly decently fast for a kiddie slide. Cool ice sculptures. Staff members were very friendly and let us test out a new sled for free, but I would look for a sled that minimizes your contact with the ice. Friction from snowpants, boots and coats slows down your slide speed.
Friendly staff that help you with whatever you need. SUPERB customer service!
The first year I went it was really cool and a good experience, but as I am getting older I have found it more as a fun way to get the kids out and playing.
Great place. Beautiful sculptures. Lots of fun for the whole family
It is an amazing ride through the most beautiful, colorful display of trees and all the objects in the park decorated with lights in different colors dancing at the rhythm of Christmas music. I totally enjoyed the ride.
Beautiful sculptures. The price was a little expensive. $15 for an adult.
I wasnt as impressed as I have been in the earlier years
Awesome little park with lots of different ice statues and several sled hills for children to play on.
Funny, cool looking sculptures to see and mini ice slides do go on.
Amazing! Cant wait to go back and see it with the lights!
A delight for children and adults. The slide hill is exciting for kids to do and fun for parents to watch.
Great fun place with amazing sculptures and activities for adults and kids!
For me not being a real Christmas type person the light show isnt bad at all. The kids and wife loved it to the point we have gone several times and even several times the same day. I would recommend it. It does need some work but for the first year its doing great.
Used to be better when I was a kid but still cool
Amazing event to visit... fun for the family and kids. Dress warm from head to toe...
The park is really fun to play at night time when the sled and sculptures are lit up with beautiful lights. The staff is really friendly. The ice sculptures are gorgeously done. I place to stop by if visiting Fairbanks.
They had some nice ice sculptures there. Price was pretty high for only a few sculptures I know this is their first year and it may be grown after this this year I wish them luck hopefully they can be more competitive with the prices my thought is if the prices are lower youll get more people to participate in this event
Lots of fun for the little ones
Great lights, make sure you have 4x4
Same as last year, minus slot of lights not on. Looked as if lights were just thrown out a window during a drive by.
Awesome and fun. I had no idea this was primarily a slide park for kids and adults that act like kids. Definitely recommended going when its dark since you can see all the really cool lights best.
Kids LOVE it here!!!! Be sure to bring your sled and careful on the ice slides!!!
I went there today and have to say I was disappointed. I knew going into the park that it was not icealaska and that did not impact my decision at all. The issue I had was that there was a lot of broken sculptures and most were covered in snow even though it had not snowed in quite a few days. The kids park was mediocre at best ..when we tried to spin one of the bowls the kids sit in it wouldnt move and the handle actually broke off. There was a lot of debris laying on the ground too. I would have given the rating more stars if they would simply clean it up a little bit. Also a warm up tent would have been nice. I paid 25$ for my son and I and just didnt think it was worth it. I think they should have gone down a little bit on the price to make up for the lack of accommodations and staff on hand to talk to the guests.
Great place to let the kids burn off some energy.
I think $50 for 2 adults and 2 kids is too expensive.
Since losing the ice art competition, there really isnt much to see/do. There are a few slides and such, but nothing really worth the price of admission.Clarification: This was about the ice park on Philips Field Road, not the ice carving competition now hosted at the fairgrounds.
Great time with family
Family friendly, family fun, slides ice art and a warming station with treats:)
Wow the Youth craving where Awesome works of Art. Sat is the last day hurry up and see the Art work. You can thx me later.. had fun.
The schulptings were fantastic.
Fun slides, nice art. But lots of advertisements.
It was amazing!! The sculptures are beautiful. Its a must see place in Fairbanks Alaska!!!
The Ice Park was amazing! I came during the day and then came back at night as the ticket was an all day pass. I was beautiful to see all of the ice carvings. They are such talented artists! I even felt like a kid again sliding down the wooly mammoth slide!
Visited for an ice sculpting competition and it was awesome. The venue was great, the sculptures were amazing, and lots of ice attractions for kids. It might be colder, but Id recommend going at night. They use lots of colors lights to illuminate the park, slides, and sculptures.
No ice this year but it was very nice
Go at night! I went last year at night and decided to some back and see it in the day. Unless you go when they are making them, there is no reason to go in the daytime. But at night, it is awesome! Go on third week when all the majors are finishing their work. We went a week later and it was so hot (50s-ish) that the sculptures were melting and falling apart. While this doesnt always happen, I still think the week that everything is getting finished up is best. They have all sorts of fun things for kids too! The ice slides are very cool, just bring a sled!
Loved it!
Beautiful statues, love the slides
The ice sculptures were amazing. The warming tents werent very warm. I would suggest having a fire pit for people to warm up with.
Go at night time!! Beautiful. Worth every penny for a day pass at 15.00. It is a must see, family friendly.
Beautifully creative! Definitely go see, be sure to wear warm socks!
They hold some pretty cool events
Great ice art! Loved the play areas for the children, thats mainly why went. The warm up area was terrible however.
Me and the kid have a blast every year we go, more than once!
Although not open yet, we have a lot of fun for playing in the snow.
It was a nice place to get out and enjoy ice sculptures with the family
Would like to see this at night, when the ice sculptures are backlit
I was travle to Fairbanks, the owner not told us the single block has not open yet when we buy ticket. So we only still in kids area about 20mints. Not worth.
Beautiful to see
Lots of amazing sculptures and slides for kids
We had a wonderful time
Had a blast
Gorgeous ice sculptures.
It nice to see what we can do with the ice.
Well....the website lists an incorrect closing time...so a trip was wasted only to find the park locked up.
Some amazing ice sculptures during the ice carving competition in March
It is a fantastic experience not be missed.
Awesome times!
Still open needs support lots of ice
A must not miss!
Sculptures were amazing this year
Ice carving
Really fun at night!
Cheaper than the fair.
A must see.
Just dirt, expensive to go to activities when they are held here
Went to visit in the winter and there were no ice sculptures.
Fun for the whole family
Fantastic scuptures
Lots of fun! Bring a sled!
Nothing impressive
Amazing ice sculptures!
It is not the ice art yet. They have a dancing light show from 5pm-9pm. I think they could have did a better job with the lights. Especially since the admission is 20.00 a vehicle. I rated it a 2 because alot of there lights were either burnt out or didnt dance with the music.. I think they couldve put more effort into the design.
