Beautiful part of the whole complex with Harley Clarke mansion and Jens Jensen landscape. The whole area is in a desperate need of restoration.Wonderful, almost magical ambience there - no matter the weather, or season or time of the day. A great escape place for meditation.

Nice place to visit, and the fact that you have an historic site in one hand and a nice beach a few steps from there makes it a perfect place, also great for wedding photography

A special historical gem. Very well kept up and the signs out front were informative. There is not a ton to see/ experience... But I would recommend stopping here if your in a walk or on your way to the beach.

Interesting building. Theres a large abandoned mansion next to the lighthouse. I have read that there are tours of the lighthouse on weekends.

Beautiful little Historic Site place to visit! Took the Lighthouse tour and really enjoyed the view from the Top. You can enjoy Small & Quite beach for $8.

Nice old light house with tours in the summer (small groups.) Often have sculpture a garden. Right by the beach. Really interesting area and day.

This place has history, beach access, a parking lot, and plenty of grass area

Great location has shelter to eat picnic. Beach is gorgeous and on weekday pretty much to share with other 5 or 6 people actual old working light house at one time important to our shipping industries bringing coal and supplies to big cities around Mother lake Michigan, see if you can get the sprit of the past.

Awesome place to visit. Night old English style and luckily when we went there there were not many people. Photographers need a permit to photograph around the light house. Also, the beach is paid, I believe $8 which is really weird because there is nothing special about it.Here is a photo from the session we photographed there

If you go in the summer, its HOT! Children under 8 are not allowed to go up in the tower. However, despite all this, it was well worth the climb!

Its just very tranquil and with people using the beach for yoga its a great experience for me and my Labrador retriever.

When I reached it was closed but never felt like it would be nice the beach next to it is goood and do remember you dont have to pay to enter beach there is a secret route to beach from this light house haha sorry I just saw some guys escaping thru this way so shared here

Nice place to stop. Easy to find but apparently not open to the public.

Public tours are available Saturdays and Sundays (check their website for scheduled times) but you can still walk the grounds if you are there Monday - Friday. Theres a small butterfly garden in the area. You may bring your beach gear and hang out on the lake. You must pay to access the lake.

The location is beautiful, and if youre into lighthouses, then this is the place youve been looking for. There is this shady lawn area that is behind that house that is simply majestic. They do offer a tour during summer. Lighhouse its about 10 stories high. You can learn a lot from the tour and of course theres an amazing view of the lakefront from up there.

One of the few lighthouses in Chicagoland. This lighthouse is an old style and they allow you to walk on the top during the summer time.
