I have purchased two plant from them and both have had issues. My strawberry begonia had a bacterial issue and my pitcher plant had visible spider mites when I got home which you can’t see in the store bc it’s so dark. They are very helpful and kind but I’m kinda sad about the health issues though.

Love the selection of house plants (great for indoor urban gardeners), unique paraphernalia for holding plants (designed by local artists), indoor grow-light lamps, and more. Staff were helpful and even offered to drill a hole in new pots in addition to repotting. Highly recommend!

My favorite place in Evanston besides Reprise Coffee! Louise helped me fit out our entire cafe with her amazing plant selections. Seems like every time I come back there is something new. Great and friendly staff that cares a whole lot about plants. You could spend hours in this shop looking at the intricate details. Glad to have you as neighbors and already looking forward to my next visit!

Weve been here 2 times and will keep returning. We found this place while looking for support finding plants that are safe for our cats and easy to care for. On our latest visit, they took the time to offer many suggestions for what we were looking for. We ended up taking home a small spider plant. This is a wonderful plant shop with kind, helpful people and many delightful plants and some fun surprises. I encourage anyone from novice to green thumb to stop in.

A wonderful addition to our Main-Dempster Mile business district. Beautiful and unique plant varieties for the home or office. I absolutely love their terrariums and often take them as a unique hostess/ host gift. Louise and team are always friendly and helpful.

Im not one to write reviews. In June, my boyfriend stopped in and loved this place, brought home a lovely little exotic. Plants are not his deal, and I thought his little gift would probably die once I brought her inside for the winter. I am a plant collector (the easy kind). I have to say, this plant is so stinkin healthy. Any plant shop can be gorgeous and yummy because plants are gorgeous and yummy, but when a difficult plant thrives once it leaves a beautiful shop and sits on a dusty shelf at home for a few months that shop is really something special. Kudos to you! Thank you!!

Always something new to discover amongst the lush greenery of succulents, house plants and perennials. Featuring work by artisans as functional objects, decor and some jewelry. This is my go to place for gifts.

Cultivate is a beautiful, well-tended shop with a fairly large selection of ferns, air plants, succulents, and pots. Its also regularly restocked and decorations moved around, subtle new look every time you go! I say 4 not 5 stars just because I think the prices are rather expensive, for plants and pots. You could pay $10+ for a teeny succulent pot. Also, many dont have drainage holes which seems kind of counterintuitive to me for a plant shop; they will drill holes in ceramic pots but it costs $3 on top of the already pricey pots. The employee said they dont make any money off of drilling the holes (just enough to pay for the drill bit) but it just seems excessive. I think they may charge to pot the plant too, although he didnt tell me that when he offered to repot for me and I only found out when he said I wont charge you for the repotting. The employees have always been very helpful though! Just wouldnt buy in bulk from here but its great if you just need a couple items !
