Super clean rooms, great pools with water slides, ping pong tables, clean bbq stations and golf. Unfortunately, some of the stores were closed due to covid but it was still a great experience.

Got a great deal on this place, which was good, as I feel for the full price it might have been a little overpriced. Very nice room, easy check in and checkout, and the bar is fantastic. The outside bar area really made our evening, and was super relaxing with the fire pit. The secret bar menu is a cool idea, and the staff were fantastic. Would have been 5* if the overnight parking was not $45 a night.

This place is incredible. I wish the cinema was open, so that I could see the Monty Python show, Spamalot.

How bad is the Welk Resort and its people? I have a heart procedure coming up and they said not to worry if it goes bad Welk will take care of me---JUST SIGN UP TODAY The resort looks nice, I am sure the families who purchased there are happy. I was not pleased with my visit:1) two hours which is what we were told when first sat down turned into 4 plus hours.2) the gifts they promised were not what they said they would be and are simply not worth it.3) that old this offer/price is only good for today only is such a scam4) my representative made some disrespectful and insulting remarks5) when given a valid reason as to why I could not commit they told me well if you have a hardship do you not think Welk would take care of you? I said if thats true why could we not wait until after I get confirmation if we can purchase in two months---they had no credible answer

Our room 3351 in Turnberry is great. Appliances are a bit updated than the other room we were in. The views are great. Washer and dryer in this room is noisy, but its temporary. The bathroom needs updating as well.

Amazing views from the Fountain course. . Challenging holes. No pressure, no rush and Wide open for Saturday tee time!! Would Give it10 starts just for that experience. Try it!!!!

I love vacationing here with my family. Its great for families with children. Plenty of things for both the adults and the kids to do.

Dont let their marketing trick you into going to preview their resort in exchange for a free vacation somewhere extraordinary. They make a lot of empty promises and wont give you any details until you show up at the resort. We were told wed get two free flights to Hawaii and 2 nights free stay, with the option of extending the trip with discounted prices for accommodations, just for showing up and seeing the place and telling our friends about it, with no obligation to buy. At least they cant force you to buy anything, but they try awefully hard to get you to sign up for *something* so that they can then pester you into upgrading. When we didnt sign any contracts, then they told us rather brusquely that our free Hawaiian vacation was a flight late on Tuesday to Hawaii with return early the following Thursday morning, giving one day to spend in Hawaii, and they wont even confirm your travel day or flights until possibly a few weeks in advance. Youre also not guaranteed to get the days you request. At this point we said good riddance and never even tried as it sounds like the travel company you have to book through doesnt return calls, wont confirm anything, and requires you to send more money before they even tell you your flight details. The whole thing is a scam.

They tried to convince me to buy a time share there. The guy who gave us the tour was rude impatient, had no education, did not treat us with respect, used vulgar words, trying to to persuade us into buying a time share. They just care about selling their product. Do not buy there. Im pretty sure some one will reply oh we are sorry you had a bad experience this and that but when they have you there therre trying to humiliate you and make you feel like you are a bad person for not taking your family on a vacation, they dont know my life. We saw a video and pics on how this wonderful life can be if you buy with them. I can honestly say i do all those activities with my family at least twice a month and i dont need a resort to do that. All things in life and nature has to offer are FREE and these people want me to pay for them. Trust me you dont want to come here to buy.

The grounds are amazing and pretty much anything you need to enjoy your stay is there. Units seem spacious. We had a one bedroom suite. There are variations on the layouts throughout the resort. Pools, a theater(live plays), a small store, restaurant on premises($$$), pizza place, sundry/souvenir store, and ample parking( not always immediately in front of your unit). Just be mindful you are on resort property so expect resort prices. Local grocery stores and restaurants are not far away if you have a car. Great spot to use as a home base. Easy access to route 15 which can get you to major tourist areas.....Disneyland about an hour/ hour and half north. Palm Springs about the same. San Diego and Coronado....30-40 minutes south. LAX and San Diego Airport easy driving distance. Not far from San Clemente and a great restaurant called Sonnys.Be aware.... no elevator! If your unit is third floor as ours was, its a haul with luggage. Staff was accommodating and actually had security help us with luggage. We have heard mixed reports on lower level units but we were pleased. We adjusted to the stairs after a few trips. They did not pressure us into a timeshare tour but know you will be asked.

TOTAL SHAM. They try to get you to become a customer by bribing you with presents. Thing is THEY NEVER GIVE THE PRESENTS TO YOU. If you are promised a trip to Catalina or a boat ride or a Mexico trip, you might as well forget it because you will never get it. It will keep getting postponed and eventually they will not reach out again, nor answer your calls.They deserve to get sued but they are counting on the people not to because of the hassle of suing them.

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and had an incredible experience! Customer service is top notch, and the facility is beautiful! There are a lot of amenities (swimming pool, games, movies, etc.) as well. I would recommend the Lawrence Welk resort to anyone!

The room was well kept and clean but the staff and service set The Lancaster apart. Everyone from the doormen to the front desk were courteous, comfortable and professional. I will continue to stay there exclusively when in CA.

The place is beautiful. The room is comfortable.However, when we got there the room had used towels on the floor, trash cans full, dishes in the sink, and the coach bed looking used. We complained and they said that they could send us to another room.In the next day there was miscommunication between the reception and the house keeping departments, which is ok, but it became one more thing to be upset about.Another thing is that the gym, pool area, jacuzzi and everything closes at 9 pm, which we consider super early for vacation time and its far away from downtown, so by the time you get back to the hotel all the services are closed.We got a good price, $70 before fees and taxes, I would not pay regular resort price for this one. Maybe we were unlucky, but still for a resort experience I would stay somewhere else.

My husband and I spent New Years week at the Lawrence Welk resort in Escondido. The facility is very nice- 3 pools some heated so even though it was cold and rainy the children were swimming and having a great time. There were lots of activities posted for kids. We found the condo to be nice but nothing special. Food is very expensive in their little convenience store. San Diego attractions were 45 minute drive. I was not nearly as impressed as the Orlando resorts.

We always enjoy Welk. The service is great, the accommodations are wonderful.

Quieter, kid free, day at the melody Hill pool

Love the resort. A lot of activities are offered. Rooms are well maintained. Staff are friendly but not over the top.

After waiting 4 hours for our room, I contacted the front desk supervisor, & within minutes it was ready. Walk in & windows very badly stained, bathroom floor stained with what looked like urine or worse. One pool towel for the 3 of us, & almost no amenities. Called Housekeeping & no one ever showed up.Bedtime & my son pulled open the sleeper couch & it was dirty with all kinds of stuff - never checked or cleaned. So before using had to clean & vacuum it out. Anyone interested I can provide photos of windows & bathroom floor.As at Thursday, still awaiting answers from Front Desk Manager

This is our third yearly trip around Christmas time to the resort. My kids love the property and all the activity centers. They did complain mightily about the super slow/intermittent internet connections at the resort. We stayed in the resort villas and we absolutely love the set up of the units and how large they are. The past 2 years we went after Christmas and the resort was a lot less crowded. This year they were doing some holiday events on property and the place seemed more crowded during our week prior to Christmas. However, the pools/activity centers or the golf were not too crowded......it was actually just the parking lot that seemed crowded.....LOL. Otherwise it didnt seem too crowded......just had more people the week before Christmas than on our other trips in years past where we had traveled the week after Christmas. We had 3 villas in our group and had a great stay. The rain last year and this year was crazy though. A few days just poured.....no fault of the resort of course. We always enjoy our stays here :-)

The welks resort villas resturant has the worst service ever! We served by andrew and pricilla both nights me and my wife stayed there , pricilla had a terrible attitude with us the whole time and when we asked for refills on our drinks politely , she just went to her co-worker and started talking totally ignorung us. AND Andrew the whole time just kept flirting with pricilla and didnt even pay Attention to us . So i will never be going to that resort resturant AGAIN!

Where should I start, here are some reasons why you should not stay at welk resort :1- far from San Diego beaches, need to rent a car and drive 30 minutes with no traffic2- the so called activities are so pricy3- food is expensive especially if you have kids4- old equipment not very well maintained5- very hot in the summer time, temperature in the 90s and 100s6- hill location and inconvenient to walkRun run run before they sell you a timeshare
