If you are interested in Skiing, then this is the place to go near Mt Rainier National Park. The accommodation cost is slightly high for the facilities available, but still the rooms are comfortable and has a really good view. This is right at the footstep of the winch which can take you to the top of Crystal Mountain where you ate face to face with the Mt Rainier and you can also see the Cascade mountain ranges at the distance. There are hiking trails starting from this resort which take you to Lake Elizabeth as well even to the top of Crystal Mountain if you feel adventurous and want to get you share of workout done for the day .

Best mountain within 2 hours of Seattle area. Plenty of parking. Covid aware. They ask u to pull up masks if you have it pulled down, and have social distancing implemented everywhere. Solo gondola and ski lift rides. They have an outdoor eating area sectioned off by rope with huge distances between the tables. Theyre still doing private and public lessons, you just have get there early in the morning to reserve if you cant manage to do it on the website.

Crystal is the largest ski area in Washington State with 2600 skiable acres. There are easy forest runs for beginners and intermediate skiers and many tree routes for the advanced skiers. It also has the added advantage of higher altitude skiing from about 5500 to 7000 feet in Green Valley. The grooming and care of the ski area is excellent. There are 2 lodges on the slope, Campbell Basin for skiers only and The Summit House, the highest restaurant in WA State. The view of Mt Rainier and St Helens from the Summit House is open winter and summer. Access is easy from the 8 passenger gondolas. There is also a lot of lodging available at the ski area.

Bit of an underrated experts mountain, has some of the gnarliest terrain in the US! If you are lucky enough to ski it during a rare pow day, its special. Amazing view of Mt. Rainier on a rare sunny day. Base area facilities could be improved. Excluding covid, can get unbearably crowded on weekends due to being the only large ski area near Seattle.

The slopes, snow, runs, and chairlifts are all nice. It can get pretty crowded though, with chairlift lines ~15 min. Prices are fine. The ticketing and reservation system is complicated and convoluted. Also, will call tickets are not held in the purchasers name, theyre held in the individuals names, so everyone has to wait in separate lines to get their tickets - kinda weird.

Very beautiful place. We hiked up the crystal mountain trail to the top and took the gondola down. If I had film I would have ran out of it because every place you looked was a picture. We went on the summer time but it looks like a great place for skiing. I am not a very advid hiker but am in decent shape and found the hike not too difficult if you take your time.

I give Crystal a 5 star becuase it is the best place to ski locally. With the COVID restrictions in place I think its unreasonable to bag on a place this early as everyone learns how to maneuver through things. Snow coverage was great top to bottom on Weds before Thanksgiving- couldnt believe how awesome the conditions were this early! With that said- be prepared for lift lines to be slow. Parking lots did get full- less people are car pooling so be prepared for traffic. The Gondola line moved really slow becuase they are allowing single riders- consider other options getting to the top.

Je
Review №15

Rating as a 3 for overall experience. Getting there was not fun. Left Issaquah at 7:30, the day before Thanksgiving. Stop and go traffic from just past Enumclaw with no apparent accidents. The climb up Crystal Mountain Blvd (6+ miles) took over an hour. Then had to park about a half mile from the base, on a narrow icy street in a neighborhood. Shuttles to transport skiers from lots were jammed full and we ended up having to walk. Then had to wait in long lines to redeem vouchers for tickets purchased online. After another long wait in the lift line at the bottom, we were finally headed up the mountain. Of course hallway up, another long lift line. Then finally after driving, walking, standing for over 4 hours we made it to the top. The snow was outstanding, especially given that it wasnt even Thanksgiving yet. Unfortunately, after making it to the bottom of the run, we were faced with another 20+ minute lift line. After 5 (it was it only 4?) runs we decided to head down for some food and a beer. 45 minute wait for food and 20 minute line for a beer. After eating and drinking we were too tired to get back in line and headed back to the car. The shuttle to the lot and ride back home were uneventful. So, after shelling out over $150 for skiing, food and drink and dealing with the traffic and lift lines, Im questioning whether Ill consider this again.

The Gondolas were fun, love the restaurant at the top with the most amazing views WARNING: we took the Gondolas up and decided to take the Crystal Mountain Trail and hike back down. Had my 10 year old with me. Its scary for kids on this hike due to drop off cliffs along a narrow trail. Downhill is so steep in areas be prepared for major toe pain being shoved into your shoes. Its almost 5 miles and 3 hour hike. Dont get me wrong its the most beautiful hike ever from waterfalls, lakes, even an old gold mine! We were sore for days after, but i would do again maybe not bring my son

Ikon passes are worthless here at this point. Some genius here decided to make reservations possible on all days through April, so before we knew if there was no more availability on any weekends between now and February. Ikon passes are also non-refundable, in addition Airbnbs in the area arent refunding everybody. So because of Crystals mismanagement of the reservation system, were getting hung out to dry. Were intending to switch to Epic passes for Stevens because they are going to allow reservations only for the next week so people cant just swallow up all the weekend days. Thanks Crystal.

This is THE place I go in Washington. Best mountain to board/ski. They do have some small jumps and a park area, but it isnt really geared for that. However, theres a wide variety of skill variations to choose from if youre interested in the downhill or trails this will be a blast! The bonus is the size. Fun to visit in the summer with good weather one can enjoy the sweeping views - when you take gondola to Crystal Mountain North (top of the hill). I liked the shuttle service to and from the parking lots. There is priority parking for carpools. Luckily I was warned that tickets need to be purchased online ahead of time. One group that did not know this was able to go online at the base to purchase. It took about half an hour and the staff was very helpful. I doubt it would be possible on a busier day. The lodge is well-organized and clean. Plenty of lockers are available as well as hooks in the cafeteria. Disappointed with menu choices in the cafeteria so will bring my own food next time or try the table service upstairs. Chairs ran smoothly, especially once on the hill. Between the cat walks and long out runs. I spent more time on flat territory than I like. There was a bonfire on the deck and live music in the lodge throughout the afternoon. Made it a nice place to hang out while the crowds cleared.
