Beautiful! The elk pasture is very large and runs along the side of the trail. There are only a few elk, so it seems they could be easy to miss. However, we lucked out and saw a buck and doe as we were leaving. The trail itself is paved and surrounded by beautiful trees and native plants. It has two lanes which makes distancing fairly easy. This place is a hidden gem.
I needed to see some wildlife and nature I just moved back to city living miss the wilderness this is such a wonderful place thank you
Nice place for a dog walk, can be a bit crowded but offers a nice easy walk on pavement.
Super clean, it was a busy day but everybody was respectful and nice on the walk. The Elk were really interesting too!
Great to walk overpass across Higgins & usually see sone elk grazing.
Very clean. Paved trails. Lush greenery. Very busy, tons of bicyclists and walkers. Weekdays are more quiet.
A nice place to go with kids. Its very attractive in the fall.
The bike paths are beautiful and the falls leaves were so relaxing through such trying times.
Great place to bike, hike, and run. Loved seeing the elk!
Nice place to take the kids out to watch elk in the wild...
Always nice and relaxing however weekends get busy and if you are walking the paved trail, beware of the bikes as there are plenty of them.
On this cool and rainy day, I had the entire area almost to myself. That was a nice, quiet respite.
Elk in Elk Grove! Who knew?! LOL Great place.
Nice place, calming. Entrance to the bike path.
Beautiful trees, lake, and wildlife. Watch out for geese poop on the trails and in the grass.
Great Safe Place to go for a Walk, Run or Bike Ride. Good for the whole family and fur babies.
Nice, but they should inforce the use of shirts, especially knowing that virus can spread through sweat.
Great place to bike and have. Good time
Lovely shades forest preserve. Great place for a walk, run, scoot, or bike ride.
Love this place, couldn’t get much time to see the whole place. Definitely worth visiting.
Beautiful place and perfect for walk , ride a bicycles and fishing and for relax my self .
Great place to see some Elk and walk the trails.
Only 3 Elks left after several died in the last few years. Fenced enclosure with meadow and forested area. Walking/bike path passes by a section of it. Part of the larger Busse Woods preserve.
Easy parking. Nice paved trails for hiking or bike ride.
Fun to look at Elks but they are far away and the trails are very tight hard to distance
I really like this place for a good city run. Loop is a little over 8 miles. I wish it were a dirt trail however being asphalt I guess its accessible all year round except when its really icy. There is a pasture of elk that is present in the park and its completely fenced off other than for viewing. The elk like to stay just outside the tree line
Its shame for the polit to cloase the park on weekends and open swaporama market
Great place to run! I run here at least twice every time that my work brings me to Elk Grove Village.. Lots of parking and miles of paved trails. Everyone seems to love the elk, which is a nice touch. Lot of bugs in some places so bring bug spray if that worries you. Would be 5 stars if there were more elevation changes and a little less traffic on the trails.
Beautiful place to walk, run, or bike.
Good biking trails.
Nice bike and walking path
Nice place to stroll. Very relaxing place.
Beautiful 7.2 miles bike/run/walk path the view. Is amazing all around
Great place to ride a bike. Nice scenery.
Nice paved walkway that goes right through the elk sanctuary. Seems like the elk are comfortable near the pedestrians and arent spooked by cyclists. Great place to get some outdoor time near Schaumburg.
I was sorry to see only 3 week. This park brings back many memories!
Nice bike trails and hiking trails. Good for adventure and photography. Very well-kept forest.
Got to see both male and female Elks
Great paths but i think most of the Elk are dead
Really nice park for running or riding your bicycle!
A nice fun walk with the Elk grazing near by. Beautiful!
Nice when you could actually see the elk. They blend into their background when laying down.
Good for biking or running or walking. Long distances. You dont have to run many circles unless you train for marathon. Thats where I trained for marathon in 2011.
Great place to take a walk, bicycle ride, run, etc. Extra bonus if you spot an Elk.
Very beautiful! There are nice pathways for people to walk and bike ride on. The elk are very beautiful. This area in general has a lot of different parks.
Id give it 5 stars, but I feel a bit bad for the elk not being able to roam freely. But its awesome you can get face to face with them. Just follow the rules, dont feed and dont touch them!!! Enjoy their beauty as an observer.
Biking today and the trails are wonderful. All testroom facilities we encountered are newly cleaned. Great day at Busse Woods.
Great place to visit. I saw there for the first time elks in the nature . It was amazing . Free parking is available.
Very intersting in the middle of town. The kids were amazed. We are from the St Louis area and its not something you see everyday
Running track is beautiful. So every Saturday we go there and run 7.3 miles
Peaceful see big elks
Scenic walking and riding trails
Great place for families and individuals to bike
Beautiful bike path with hills, woods, prairie and wetlands. It gets crowded and people can tend to wander around the path, so be careful!
Easter Sunday is a great day to visit the Elk. But cant wait until they finish installing all the lifesize bronze Elk very near the living Elk. They even have an elk family ystanding/walking in water. I believe it is the new industrial area off of Higgins. But not sure, hubby does all the driving so I am clueless. Have fun and keep exploring.Peace to all mankind.
There are elk. Theyre adorable. Only three due to actions of the town and its caretakers that I wont get into, but the elk themselves are adorable and their pen is decently sized and setup.
Keep them opened ...The Parks help US
Very beautiful and peaceful
A good loop to run in the northwest burbs. Parts of shade and scenic parts are enjoyable.
Nice wide trails. Very clean.
Really beautiful place to walk run or bike. You can bring your kids and babies. The elk are beautiful. Dont forget the bug spray!!
Didnt see any deer, nice area though
Meet my girlfriend for lunch everyday . Nice place
Pretty neat getting to see some Elk.
Great place to go for a bike ride, run or walk. Even see people fishing and renting kayaks.
As animals lovers - sad to see the elk captured. Yet great to be so close to them. I wish more people respect them and follow the posted signs.Otherwise - our usual starting spot for walking in the forest. Shinrin-yoku at its closest. Mitsuwa and Tensuke near by - a bonus.
Tjret are a giant lace with elk in there and that is pretty cool. There are about three or four elk .
Very good trail for jogging or biking.
Nature trails and Elk parking available.
Beautiful!
Its big and if you love scenery, this place have the best then check the video i posted
Excited to look at the babies snakes crossing the path.
Well maintained, clean trails/park. Definitely recommend.
Its always nice to stop by and watch the elk ll
Cool spot to walk and see some wild elk, parking lot right next to it.
Visited in a rainy day. Elk were still out and doing there thing. Pretty neat.
Incredibly busy Cyclists racing at a dangerous speed no place on the trail to sit down if needed
This is a nice spot to stop and park and walk the paths, or watch the elk if theyre out!! Plenty of parking spaces.
This place is so cool.
The elk were finally at the fence! So cool to see :)
The elks were out, what a great park. Love it. We come here at least once a month.
More than 8 miles of bike trails, boat and kayak rentals, picnic areas, fishing, and tons of different activities in summer. A couple miles to Woodfield mall. Dont forget to see Elks on the cross section of Arlington Heights and Higgins. Best time of the year/day is summer late afternoons.
Only saw one elk but still it was pretty cool
Its cool seeing the elk they got there.
You get to take your family there and theres Trails you can walk on and rollerblade skateboard all sorts of stuff and the Oaks will literally come right up to the fence its really good for little kids
