My, how much Ive grown. Everything that was once so so big, is now so tiny. This place is just as magical as I remembered. Your toddler and kindergartner will definitely enjoy the visit. I highly suggest that you come here before their first visit to Disneyland. Parents can expect to enjoy a fun filled afternoon without long lines. Dont expect commercialized cartoon characters and fancy rides, this place is a wholesome and imaginative playground for the little ones.

My friend got hired here last summer, boy is this place a mess. On the outside to unassuming guests this seems like a safe and family friendly park, yet on the inside safety seems to be their last priority. (He/she) was given ~1 hour of TOTAL training (yes, 1 hour to learn how to run EVERY RIDE). He/she incorrectly harnessed kids on the rock wall for the first couple shifts as he/she wasnt shown the proper process, oh and heres the cherry on top. A FAMILY of foxes had decided to start living in the park around April according to their manager at the time, and they let them stay THROUGH THE OPERATING SEASON. He/she was instructed to beat the ground next to the foxes with a stick to scare them away if they were too close to a ride. How safe does that sound? This park is lucky theyve avoided a lawsuit this long, and theyre even more lucky theyve been able to put up such a convincing facade. EDIT:They also just informed me that not a single check they received added up. (Taxes, Medicaid, etc. Accounted for)

We love this gem, it’s a park district ran facility. They have a little rollercoaster boat they can run about bounce house wall:rock climbing and more! Just a short drive from the city right off the expressway really. If you remotely live in the area I’ll go as far to say, for your pirate loving laddie’s it’s a must go! Get it gift a membership, is well worth it’s weight in gold, matey. Also makes a great gift to look forward to! A super fun place to take the 3-6 crowd.A great way to play and make memories can not wait to reopen hopefully next summer ( see yar soon! ) highly recommend, also be advised it not a fun free for all, run free kinda environment. Not totally fenced off for each, but the areas all have their own “entrance” so mom or Dad can sitback somewhat. Table to eat at too. Party’s and rental options call or see website. They used to have In and out passing throughout the day so you can leave and try Cuban bro’s or another great local businesses and go back after lunch! Also “attached” to the community pool FYI, if you have a little who looses it at the sight of possible water fun, lol been there. Dealt with that: just a heads up. Super cheap too for the day. No additional cost outside of gift shop and food.

Talk about full circle, I’ve been coming here since I was a young child myself and now 30+ years later I’m bringing my children here! There was face painting today which was even more special! It was PACKED but even so, there were short lines and everything moved quickly. It was nice that there were little sprinklers to cool down with. It was very affordable and you can spend 2-4 hours there easily.

I have been to this place once before, when my 24yr old was about 3. The prices have been raised but it was exactly how I remember it. Very fun place for younger children. It was clean and not too over crowded. I will definitely be back with my youngest next year.

The price to come here is a bit much. $12 per kid, free adult. I chose to go during their twilight hours (4pm-8pm) on Monday’s and Wednesday’s when it’s cheaper because this place is only worth staying a couple of hours, and if your an Elk Grove Village resident it’s an even more reduced price. This place is very tiny, however it does have some fun stuff for the kids and will entertain them for a couple of hours. I’d say this is only for young children though, ages 1-6. They do have a few rides, a bounce house, and fun slides.I say this place is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared that’s it’s a smaller theme park.

7/2019 This is a small park, that is tucked away. For the most part the grounds seemed very clean. The staff all seemed to be very young. Maybe college interns. There was a small food shop. It had pizza, chips, corn dogs, fries, cold drinks... The rides were all fine for small kids. They were a little squeeky the day we went. The cover charge seemed to keep the right kind of people there. You know, the ones who watch their kids, and clean up after themselves. There was plenty of shade for a summer day. We liked it for what it is. The kids had a good time. Really I would not expect to spend more than an hour or two at the park. There is a 15 foot slide, 20 foot rock wall, marry go round, small spin elevating ride, train for kids to ride, a kids paddle boat pool, and a playground. They also have a pool, with a different charge. We just went to the park.

This park is a great place to take your children to when you are on a budget. Kids were 12 bucks and adults were free. All of the employees had a smile on thier face and were competent in the task that they were doing. All of the attractions had at least 2 staff members. There was also a cute pirate show about a pirate dance. The food was good. I had the sausage pizza combo. Awesome place.

This was a good excursion for a summer day, but really geared toward toddlers & young kids. I think 6 is the upper-age limit, not 9. My 8-year old is good natured enough to go & enjoy because of younger siblings. But, for not for a singleton or group visit above 6 years.

If you live nearby this is a great place for a couple of hours with toddler aged kids. $9 per kid for Elk Grove Village residents, $12 for non-residents. Adults free but cannot ride with kids. Most rides are 3-9 years old. Went on a Saturday in June at noon. Was not crowded with no wait at the carousel, pirate ship ride, safari train or climbing wall. Short wait (5-10 minutes) at the peddle boats. They have a small concession stand with pizza and hot dogs, ice cream bars, etc. The top side of the large pirate ship was booked for a birthday event and no accesible. In the pirate ships they had crafts for the kids. Highly recommend if youre in the area.

8/3/2019Good place a short and quick dose of R&R for 3 to 6 year olds.My 2.5 year old enjoyed it but if your kid is 3+ he/she will have a ball.$12 bucks for a glorified play area with slides, train rise, jumping station, pirates show and hand peddled water boats was worth it.*#NextTime* I will pick a day cooler than 85+ (most of the slides do not have shade so they are **HOT**), ideally 75 to 80 should have been fine. Make sure you give it couple of hours to cover everything without rush and repeat a few rides if needed.

I took my two children, 7 and 3, to Pirates’ Cove Children’s Theme Park for the first time. We live about an hour away and we met friends at the park. I would have never known about this little toddler treasure if my friend hadn’t pointed me here. I think I was expecting a bit more with “theme park” as part of the title. The kids thought there would be a roller coaster and I thought they might have some sort of water feature (perhaps a splash pad area). The rides were fairly limited - a tiny carousel (which my friends jokingly called the umbrellousel), a spinning pirate ship that flies up and down, a nice park with a dragon slide, a stage, a jumpy house, a tall slide with burlap bags to slide down on, a rock climbing wall with three difficulty levels, kids mini hand-cranked paddle boats, a craft area under a large ship used as a picnic area, a rope climbing structure, and a mini train. So in all, we are talking about 10 attractions with three electronic rides. I’m not sure if I would count the craft area or the stage as an attraction, so if you take those away we are down to 8. That being said, the kids spent 5.5 hours at the park and still didn’t want to leave. I enjoyed that the value seemed to be good - $24 for the two of them. You don’t pay as an adult. We were very lucky to go on a day that was not busy at all. We went when rain was threatening and it was in the high 60s. I did note that there were a lot of areas that provided shade, had you wanted it. I also liked that they let you bring in your own food. I’d highly recommend packing lunch or, at the very least, snacks. My 7-year-old still loves parks, so he enjoyed pretending to be a pirate on the park. He didn’t really want to go on any of the rides more than once. He enjoyed the paddle boats and the climbing wall. You are suppose to be 45 lbs to climb the climbing wall. He climbed the wall about 20 times as my three-year-old and I went on rides with friends. The nice part is that the park is small enough that I felt comfortable doing that. It was only a minute to walk across the park to get to him. Overall, we had a wonderful day and I would recommend spending at least half a day at the park. We never had to wait more than a couple minutes for a ride, so we rode most rides at least twice. It’s a good value for the money and nice to be outside with the kids having a good time. I’d highly recommend going with friends since rides are not for adults. That way you can talk while your kids keep busy.

What a horrible experience!!!!!! I would give zero stars if I could. Prior to driving up here from Naperville today, I checked the website which said the park was only open weekends starting next weekend aug 17 so we made the trip....only to get here to find it closed. The outside signage said the same at the gate. The manager came out to talk to us once she updated the website and outside sign. No discounts or free entry for their error. Not the customer experience or service recovery I expect from any park district. What a joke. Then they tried to get us to pay for a play place not much bigger than what is at chick fil a. We were not the only ones, there had to be at least 20 other families going through the same thing. Will not even try to come back.

Cute but small. My taller 8 year old was okay for 1.5 hours doing the climbing wall and helping with his little sister but he was bored and ready to go at the end. My 2 year old clingy daughter cried on everything solo or would flat out not do it. She pretty much just wanted to ride the train over and over. My son would have loved this place at 2.5. I would say the best ages are 3-6 for most kids. Honestly we got our $11 worth simply because a mall train which isnt as cute costs like $3/ride so it worth it afterthe 4 trips on the train! :).
