Such a great piece of history that is being saved for future generations so they can appreciate the history of the Elgin Fire Department!The building has been newly cleaned and looks great on the inside with all sorts very cool pieces old Fire Fighter gear. And dont forget about the Fire Trucks!

Great history place about elgin fire.

My camera club went here one blustery night in November. We got full-access to the place. I ran into James up in the attic and he was a wealth of information. There is a ton of gear here. Some of is seems bone-stock and much has been restored. Plenty of cool stuff. You do not have to have an interest in firefight to find this place cool. Not juts for kids, either.

Loved it

Great firefighting museum in an old firehouse. They have a few antique fire trucks, and a ton of other Elgin firefighting pieces. Admission is cheap and they have open houses with fire trucks rides a few times each year.

Fire Barn Museum is an excellent place to go for 30- 45 minutes. Lots of city knowledge.

The Elgin fire museum has items and displays that show the history of fire fighting in Elgin. The displays are pretty awesome to see and the knowledgeable, volunteer staff is certanly an asset. This museum is definitely a gem within Elgin.
