Beautiful mixed forest park. One of the best in the area for summer and fall stroll. Comfortable wide and well-marked hiking trails. You wont get lost there, but the white trail, for example, crosses itself four or five times, so having a trail map with you will be helpful if its your first time there. You can download one from their official website.

Local open acres that offers some hiking and I believe, hunting, at certain times of the year. Typical central Jersey woods, said to have been, at one time, a northern portion of the Pine Barrens. I found the trails a bit difficult to follow but that just could have been me. Not bad for a quick hike minutes away from home.

This place is a hidden gem that I stumbled upon quite by accident one day. Just started exploring the many wide trails. So far it seems well maintained and well marked but will print out a map from their website so I dont get lost! Ticks? Yes there are ticks. Youre in the woods! Cover up, wear repellent, make sure your dogs are sporting Seresto collars or other repellent and youll be fine. Enjoy the quiet peacefulness of nature. So good for the soul.

A very good trail system. The trails are very well marked well maintained and wide enough for 2 people. There are lots of wildlife and tracks to see. Different trees and mushrooms to spot. It really is a great trail system

Went here with my SO to take a nice walk around the lake and woods. It was windy but enjoyable despite the fact we almost got lost trying to go through marshes (we probably went farther then we shouldve)

The park has a nice area with a lake view children playing section which is a beautiful area. But, if walking the Wooded trail which is on the other side of the road of Helmetta, theres a lot of bugs ticks, chiggers, mosquito. Bring a lot of bugs spray for yourself and you pets, if walking on that side of the trails.

I wore long pants, socks and shoes. Spent an hour on the trails and came home with 30-50 MINUSCULE ticks on me. Never seen anything like it. Picked them off of me for days. Cringe.
