This place has gone down hill. Stayed one night because this place was dirty and the filter had not been changed since March 2020. Not good given covid etc. These cheap @%% only gave us a credit of $25.We came to be near my dad got heart surgery and was not expecting this place to of been so horrible.

Overall would recommend to friends if looking for a family friendly indoor Waterpark hotel!Hotel room seemed okay. A bit dated and showing its age in terms of quality. The room had a view of lake superior which was great to look at while on the balcony. But there is also I-35 right outside too so it was rather noisy with traffic. We are currently staying mid October and the pricing seems reasonable as well. The Waterpark was fun, with a couple slides and a kids zone with lots of water splashing around. My daughter enjoyed going across the lily pad section. I enjoyed the lazy river circle and my son and wife were always in the hot lava spring aka the hot tub. Hotel also has an arcade zone that the kids enjoyed while we had some downtime between swimming. I also need to mention that the food served at the Waterpark was surprisingly delicious. I wasnt expecting much being that its hotel food which always seems bland and over priced but the pizza was awesome and wings were crispy and delicious.

This hotel is dirty... we got into our room to find food all over the floor, random toys, used bath towels. The mini fridge was being held up by used tissue boxes. We saw the cleaning staff in the hall. Thinking huh they must be so BUSY with covid and all. Three families in all at the hotel. It was DEAD...

So this was my birthday weekend. I really enjoyed the nice clean room, bathroom, and the well made bed with clean sheets. My fiancé, 2 kids and future mother in law had an amazing time especially with the lazy river, kid place, ofcorse, the giant slide. We all had a blast and it was nice to have the feeling of COVID being non-existent. We look forward to our next stay. Thanks for having us there for my 30th.

Room we received was on the 1st floor. King bed was lumpy, floor uneven, and the bunk beds hadnt been cleaned under the mattresses as they were full of crumbs and 2 had socks between the mattress and bunk. Definitely hadnt been looked at. There was mold on the air conditioner also. We were moved to a lake side room which was much better. The grandkids enjoyed the water park and other amenities. Will choose another place next year

I asked for a room on the uppermost level. We received 3rd floor, one away from top. They placed us right next door to a loud family. The balconies are so close you are basically sharing the balcony space...which in a pandemic is less than ideal. I thought maybe the hotel was full and we just lucked out. Then came the super loud noise. Sounded like an air compressor/power generator running. We complained and was moved to a corner room on the fourth floor no problem...so they clearly had a top floor room available. Our new room was stuffy and smelled a little off, like mildew. The view from the balcony was delightful, the bed was comfy enough, the bathroom could be cleaner. BUT the room was dirty af. Stains, seeds, crumbs, etc. See photos.Update: our upgraded room has broken AC so our room stayed uncomfortably warm all night.

OK, first off... I really enjoyed my experience. The water park was fun, it had two slides, one for inner tubes, one without. They have a lazy river to raft on a small outdoor pool if you want to actually swim. They also have a free, though simple, mini golf course. The only major concern is that the windows onto the Waterpark are two way, guests can see into your room.So why did I only give it two stars? Because the room was filthy with stuff left behind. Heres pictures.Without covid this would be a 4 start review, but right now its concerning. They dont clean high shelves, refrigerators, under the bed, nor in drawers.

Fantastic location, front desk attendants very very helpful and friendly. Housekeeping leaves garbage bags in hallways after leaving for the day. The water park was cool! The hotel itself was very dirty! Our room had crumbs around the bed frame and dresser. Hair all over the shower walls. The sink didn’t drain. The worst part was the fruit fly infestation in our room! Didn’t even sleep a wink was up all night swatting fruit flies! Told the front desk about this at check out and all she said was she would let someone know. Not even an apology for such a trashy room! Very disappointing vacation!

This place is decent but run-down. The water park experience was good and my nephews (ages 5 and 9) had a lot of fun on the variety of water activities and they would have been happy to stay longer than the 4.5 hours they got to swim. All the lifeguards were alert and friendly. Our only real issues at the Edgewater related to housekeeping and it seems, based on other reviews, this is a growing concern. The toilet hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in quite some time, the shower drain is super slow, and there were food crumbs in the sofa sleeper. Seeing that they seemingly recently started charging extra for waterpark wristbands, if we do ever come back, we’ll just get a room nearby and come here to swim.

Stopped by before the 4 pm check in to see if we could potentially get the room earlier but we were told it was not ready yet. We were fine with that answer and came back at 4 pm instead. We were pretty exhausted from all the driving we have done that day so we couldnt wait to relax and catch up on some sleep! When we got the room it was extremely dirty! Imagine how upsetting that was knowing we were told the room was not ready to finally getting it and the housekeeper did not even have the decency to even vacuum! There is no reason why we would come back and would rather pay more for something else.

The water park is small.... mainly for kids really. I do like the outdoor pool and hot tub... but what sucks is that they close at 9 pm... so unfortunately you really cant relax.....in the dells they do an extra time for the adults. ... also not sure why our hallway smelled like pee, but even with the mask on.. it made you want to barf.... the room was ok...it looked like it was lacking maintenance, the mini fridge stopped cooling and another guest complained about the same thing when we were checking in....the view was great from our window over looking lake superior...but I hear that the view from the parking lot isnt that great.

Location is great, enjoyed the lake view. Wasn’t happy that they allow smoking on the balconies or that they closed the outdoor pool & hot tub at 9pm. The rooms are very outdated & in need of updating & a deep cleaning. Our bathroom sink didn’t drain, there were stains on the carpet & furniture. Room had a funky smell to it. This was not our first time staying here, but most likely will be the last. Hotel has definitely gone downhill. This could be an amazing hotel if they invested money into upgrading & cleaning.

The bed wasnt fully made, the floor wasnt fully vacuumed, the dresser drawers were visibly broken, all the furniture was extremely worn, the mattress was stained yellow, the grout throughout the shower was moldy and black, the walls looked terrible as tho numerous holes had been patched over time and it smelled of smoke. Let me start off by saying the hotel rooms weren’t the best. We were planning to stay for 3 nights, and when we entered our room, it reeked of pee in one room and gasoline in the other. We asked to switch rooms and got rooms a floor above. We entered our new rooms and one smelled strongly of smoke, while the other was fine. These rooms were more cleaner than the others. I also noticed that the room wasn’t properly cleaned and the beds felt a little damp. The door outside to the porch was very cheap and you could see daylight through it when it was fully closed as well as the noises of the cars passing by at night. Also, I can’t forget to add that every time someone smoked outside, you could smell it while you’re trying to sleep. The porch was dirty and we were practically sharing the porch with the people next to us, the only thing separating us was a small metal fence. Thank god we weren’t placed on the first floor because when I walked through the hall, it reeked of a pee scent even worse than our previous room, I also noticed the floor was trashed, I could only imagine how the rooms were if the hallway was that bad. I noticed some reviews said there was cockroaches, but I didn’t run into any myself, although someone with me complained about a huge ant near their pillow while they were sleeping. We didn’t get our room cleaned at all for the nights we stayed at the hotel. We left a day early and switched to a new hotel with much better service/rooms. That’s it for the hotel part of Edgewater. For the water park, I actually really enjoyed it. You had to wear a mask when you’re outside the pool, and take it off when you’re in. There was many fun water attractions, although I wish there were a bit more to make it more enjoyable. There was also an outside pool which wasn’t as big, but it was nice and calm, along with a hot tub to top it off. They also have some fun things to do outside like mini golf and an electric fire they heat up at night. I would also recommend the arcade, which was pretty cool. The food at the pool is good overall, but I would recommend going out to eat if you’re looking for an actual meal to eat. That’s pretty much it for the water park part of the review.Overall, my stay here was ok. The water park pretty much made up for the hotel part, and after a while you start getting used to the hotel. I tried my best to add as much as I remember and I hope this helps others determine whether to stay here or not.

Absolutely will not stay here again. Travelled 5 hours for this experience and Becky ruined it right off the bat. If you sign up for a 20% off room discount on the Duluth website, they wont let you use it. They also apparently have a policy where the name on your credit card has to match your ID no matter what in the case its stolen. Makes sense I suppose however, I had about 6 other items, a social security car with my maiden name on it and two kids with my maiden last name and they still refused to let me pay with my credit card. Because it could all be stolen.

This room was fine but by the time we got to swim it was already 7pm and we only had 3 hours to swim. We got there at 5:30! We then ordered food we ordered 5 burger meals and ALL OF THEM WERE RAW! I don’t mean pink they were RAW AND STILL SLIMEY! We got our food remade but my daughter got sick after eating her burger. The next day when we were packing up my puppy was finding trash and miscellaneous items under the bed. THIS SHOWED THEY DO NOT CLEAN THEIR ROOMS PROPERLY EVEN DURING COVID! If youre looking for a pristine, like- new, hotel, this may not be the best place for you. The decor is outdated and the rooms could use major deep cleans. Although the beds are well-kept, tidy and clean, both rooms we stayed in were more tidy than clean. Its almost like when you ask a kid to clean their room. looks presentable at first glance , but there are hidden treasures everywhere. Luckily unlike a teens room what we found in our room wasnt terrible. If this were only a review on housekeeping and decor, Id give it a 2. However, I was informed today that the hotel is due for a remodel in the near future, so thats promising ! If youre just looking for a place to crash for the night while youre kids use the water park, this isnt a terrible hotel. We brought all of our issues up with the Manager Joe, and other staff members, and they were ALWAYS polite and ready to do whatever needed to be done to make sure that we were satisfied with out stay- and kindness goes a long way ! All in all ,the hotel needs an updated decor and could use a thorough deep clean. The front desk staff is polite, and informed , and most importantly the kids will probably have fun ! The Edge gets a 4 from me :)

Nats flying everywhere, bummer. Bathroom sink was plugged, yuk. I have stayed here now and then and the facilty has gotton worn out and dirty. We checked for bed bugs and there were none, that was a good thing. Staff shortages (covid-19) may have accounted for the uncleanliness in the hallways. Staff was somewhat curt. Anyway, we just didnt hang around much because the seating in our room was so uncomfortable. Will I stay there again... possible as a last resort. Not much available in that town on weekends. More like motel.. we didn’t cancel the reservations because our kids wanted to swim at the water park. I totally feel like I need to take a long cleansing shower after being here!!The walls of the hotel are paper thin. I could hear the cars on the highway and the people running up and down the halls when we were trying to sleep. Not to mention the crying baby next to us If you wear glasses, don’t even bother coming... they don’t allow anyone with glasses to go down the water slides. I have NEVER heard that one before. I have been wearing glasses since I was in kindergarten and going to Waterparks. I have never had someone tell me I couldn’t go down the water slides with my glasses. Totally feel discriminated against.... I couldn’t spend quality time with my older child because of this. It’s like they would rather have me missing a step going up to the slide and have me bleeding profusely than risking my glasses in the pool...Long story short. I would only ever come back to the water park!! Never ever would stay in the hotel again!!!

This place caters to kids and it does it well. The water park has a lot to offer: 2 large slides, lazy river, shallow kids playground, hot tub, and a slightly deeper pool with basketball hoops and areas to just swim. The outdoor pool is a basic rectangle with a separate hot tub. Free Smores outside each night, and a nice simple mini-golf course. Yes, the rooms could use updating but seeing how busy it is here it doesnt seem to be keeping people away. The location is nice and nearby other attractions. Check-in is 4pm but was able to get in at 3pm. Parking is tight.

My kids love the outdoor pool and waterpark . Rooms in the tiki tower are better than the other building. Could use some upgrades to hvac systems, replacement window treatments and carpet. Tiki hut has bunk beds and they have kid friendly and themed bedding! The arcade is fun. Food inside the waterpark. Holiday gas station basically in the parking lot. Easy access to a walking and biking trail by the lake. Super close to family fun activities! Weve stayed two different times in different rooms (tiki hut and lake view suite) both have pros and cons.Had a punch card for stay 10 nights and get a check. When i asked about it, i was told next time we stay that the amount would be taken off the bill. The punch card says $xx check not credit for next visit.

Hallways smell horrific, the rooms weren’t properly cleaned the sheets on the bed were dirty. The mirrors had smudges and smears food and crumbs along the wall and the shower door isn’t even on all the way it’s loose and rusted.

Though I haven’t been here in approximately 8 years I have to say my memories of it are very fond. I honestly would love to go back simply for the nostalgia. I’d say my experience is maybe more biased because I was a kid when I went here. We’d go every summer for a few days and I swear I enjoyed every day. The waterpark was of course most memorable as would any kid feel, I specifically remember the roaring volcano and slippery steps which might have been replaced but were shaped like sea animals floating atop the water. So many other things stand out like the slides and looking into the shut down waterpark at night from the hotel room window. I oddly enjoyed the dated look but wouldn’t mind going back to find things have changed. However I’d definitely take my future kids here. I loved all of my experiences and have so many stories. Much love to this hotel.

Definitely not worth the price. The waterpark is nice but the hotel is outdated and dirty. With covid you would think the cleaning standards would be much higher.

Front end staff was very friendly and helpful. The parking situation is far less than ideal, especially if youre on the east end of the complex. No easy way to unload a vehicle and bring it in to the building. The complex has been cheaply remodeled from an older complex, with the old dinged up furniture still remaining. The bathroom was clean, however the toilet smelled of urine, badly. It was evident that the walls in the room hadnt been washed in some time. In the middle of the night, the room smelled like cigarette smoke, and the smell returned before check out. The breakfast seemed to be a one mile walk indoors away from the newer building. The quality of the breakfast was OK.The water park was also OK, no real complaints there.

We had fun at the water park. Went to our room and slept woke up in the morning to cockroaches in the bathroom. I am not a big person and had to google. Do not stay here!

Bed clean, bathroom clean. Rest of it filthy. Old food in corner of room with mold . I used to work in housekeeping. 15 minutes to clean a room and short staffed but come on! Would you put your family in that room?

My niece was assaulted by six Native American teenagers in the water park. The life guards (all under 16 years old) didnt even notice and I had to plead with the manager to convince him to call the police. The only positive thing I can say is that the Duluth police were very responsive. It turns out that the security cameras werent even working. These girls were guests, but hotel staff refused to help the Duluth police find them and investigate. After the ordeal, we found a bunch of puke in the hall near our room from some of the numerous drunk people around the hotel (pictures below). This is a really rough hotel frequented by sketchy teens and heavily drinking adults. While the water park itself is fine, the rest of the hotel is rundown and a place where you have to keep a close eye on your kids and the people hanging around. If you stay here, youre putting your family at risk and should be comfortable with the possibility of your children being assaulted. For this type of money, I would expect far more. There are plenty of much better places in Canal Park and elsewhere in the otherwise wonderful city of Duluth.

Fun as always at the edge! Stayed in 1302; had stayed in this room a few years ago. The new flooring and paint really made this room comfy!

We have stayed here several times, and always enjoyed it here. Water park is great for younger children, although the teenagers may get bored after a little while. Nice location in Duluth, with access to the lake walk and the shore of lake Superior. Great views of the lake and the lift bridge.

When I read the bad reviews I thought it was someone complaining unduly....once here I found out the website is very misrepresented. No coffee maker, pool and hot tub closed and we were not allowed to go into the indoor pool OR hot tub. We could have gone to a rinky dink motel and more amenities than we had here. Very displeased. I called to the front desk for information 5 times before anyone answered

The roar from the freeway was unsettling. Was not smoke free in the hotel rooms. WaterPark was the only decent thing about the edge, I checked out early.

The hotel would not honor my prepaid room reservation. The two queen beds where full size and when I went to the desk to talk to them about not getting what I paid for, the staff started yelling at me. My hotel room was a motel room and we had to walk outside to get from the water park to our room in a snowstorm with little kids. They charged my card a total of 3 times for my room and I had to wait for days to get my money back. The WiFi did not work in our room and we got errors that said we needed to move closer to connect. They allowed cars to park 3 feet from our door and block access to our room even though I asked them to have the car move. I was lied to and yelled at by staff m. I did not receive the accommodations that I paid for. The hotel was a two star at best. Dirty and many items broke in the room. Worst hotel stay I have ever had!!!

The water park was fun, the water doesnt go above 4ft. View from our room was gorgeous.Food in the water park was mediocre, but still good.Breakfast was a long walk and the skyway was freezing cold. Food was nothing special and coffee was extremely watered down. Not worth the extra $ per person

Id give zero star if I could. Although my daughter clearly enjoyed the waterpark, the rooms we were in were disgustingly dirty. DO NOT book a PATIO room. Its in the basement. They are clearly the less popular of them. We were initially told our room wasnt ready. Then were given a dirty room. Then another dirty room. Then offered a few vouchers. But eventually said Id just pay for an upgrade. Poor customer service. And not to the fault of the desk staff but hotel management. If youre not going to make sure the rooms are presentable you should have better service recovery than having a guest pay for an upgrade and giving them 4$ in vouchers.

I usually dont give bad reviews, but this place deserves a bad review. The room needed major work. It was dirty, from the stained carpets to filthy toilet and shower, mold on the wall next to the bed. On a good note the staff was very friendly and the shuttle was a great perk. I would not go back. The Tiki portion of the building may be better but I cannot confirm that.
