The cleanliness of the rooms was that of what you would expect at an extremely cheap hotel, or one rented out by the hour. Animal and Human hair all over the beds. Food crumbs and toothpicks scattered about. The fridge had something sticky all over the inside of it. Clearly hasnt been actually cleaned in a while, not what you expect from a pricier 5 star hotel.

We stopped in for a late lunch. We got a table on the patio which was clean and offered a good environment for social distancing. All of the staff was wearing masks and there was plenty of sanitizer around The view of the marina and bridge were great and relaxing. The food was also great and was high quality. We ordered an appetizer and sandwiches. Highly recommend the clamari appetizer. My only gripe was that the service was very very slow. Took us nearly 20 minutes to get a water and there were maybe a total of 6 tables total with people at them. Our waitress only appeared to be covering 3 tables and the restaurant has a max 4 per party policy during the pandemic. Not clear as to why the service was so slow, we otherwise had a good meal and experience.

Currently just completed our 3rd stay at this hotel. During COVID the restrictions are in line with the CDC and not excessive. Additionally, we have a baby with us and the staff have been extremely accommodating. Every time weve been here Ive been impressed. My family of 5 stayed at Pier B for 3 nights and it was pleasant all around. It was during the time of Covid so there were extra precautions by the staff in place that were no intrusive and appreciated. The amenities are perfect for any group looking to hunker down for a period of time. There are bikes, carts, games, boats, walking/biking paths, smores, and nearby attractions for all ages to enjoy. The restaurant on site had solid food and was not overly busy. Overall our stay was excellent and we are already planning our next getaway to Pier B!

We just spent 5 days here over Labor Day week and were pretty happy with our stay. The rooms are nice, the harbor view from ours was a plus. We werent able to try the food at Silos as the dining room was closed after our first night there until we left. Kind of a bummer as we had heard from others who had stayed that the food is really good. Oh well. Also, next time I will book through the desk instead of online. I thought I had booked under the Room To Roam package but was charged full price for our entire stay. My mistake not the resort. Oops! We will definitely stay there again!

A nice place but not great. Overly touristy. The website overbooked the hotel so we didnt get the room we reserved but they handled it very nicely. The view is great but the fire pits fill up very quickly so if you like to be out, you wont get to enjoy them...The restaurant closes very early making it difficult to grab food if you check in late. The breakfast that they offer was terrible. One of the worst Ive had in a long time.Honestly, I felt it would be good for an event but it felt overpriced and overrated for people who come up to enjoy the shore itself. If you are a resort person, you might like it a bit better.

This hotel is in close proximity to Canal park in Duluth while not actually being in Canal park. The view of the harbor and the bridge is great especially if youve never seen a lift bridge or a huge ship. There was lots of traffic going into and out of the harbor, so there were things to look at without needing to go anywhere else. They have a pool which I didnt use, and a hot tub which I also didnt use. There were always people in them and they seemed well kept. Its just not my thing. They also have bikes, electric scooters, and some kind of pedal go-kart things you can apparently rent. None of those are my thing either since Im more of a walker. A lot of people looked like they were having great times with them, so if youre the kind of person who likes to pedal things Id bet youd like them. I am a fire pit kind-of -guy and they have several fire pits along the waterfront that you can use without charge, and they provide all of the split firewood without extra charge you could possibly want. They also have several gas fire pit tables that are always burning. I was able to get a fire pit every night of my stay although I had to wait until 11pm one night and we actually stayed at another one all day and into the night on a different day. Some people were clearly frustrated because they have smores that they give out at 7 at the front desk so there are often more people looking for a fire pit than there are fire pits. Im sure this is less of an issue when were not in a pandemic, but I can only write about what I noticed while I was there. There is a restaurant on premises. I only ate breakfast there once. Honestly, it was slightly frustrating because you have to order it in advance by filling out a form at the front desk and picking a time to get it. I wrote 9 am on my card and showed up at about 8:55. However, I ended up waiting in line for 1/2 hour because they only had one guy cooking and one lady getting the food orders to the people in line and checking them out. When I got our food, I didnt check it. However, one of our meals contained meat even though both of our food orders were the same and both clearly indicated a no meat preference. It being a pandemic, Im grateful to be able to get food from a restaurant at all and my wife is less of a vegetarian stickler than me so she just gave the meat to our dog and ate the remaining food. We chose this hotel because it was dog friendly. Apparently there is a house dog that lives here however, I dont think I ever saw it. I dont think all dog rooms have a patio, but ours shared a patio with 4 other rooms. The couple at the end of the row insisted on propping open their door and not leashing their dogs. If this describes you, please stay home. It made it difficult for us to use the shared patio, because every time we went out there his dogs would rush us and hed keep apologizing. I would have preferred it if he would have just kept his dogs on leashes so that the nothing happens to his dogs or someone elses and ruins it for everyone. What are you going to do though? I just wanted to have a good time so I just giggled and smiled like a good Minnesotan, and bad mouthed him in the privacy of the room where he couldnt hear me. The room itself isnt much to describe. Its very minimalist, only has lights on the wall and no central switch which I found strange. I thought the bed was harder than the floor, but my wife said she didnt mind it but hated the pillows. It was clean and comfortable with a nice view otherwise, which is all I really expect. Overall, I had a great visit to Duluth. If I choose to go again, Ill certainly consider returning to Pier B. The people were nice, the accommodations filled my expectations, it was close enough to walk to every place I wanted to see, and the harbor is beautiful.

Just arrived, found out the restaurant will be closed our whole stay, which is kind of a bummer. Walk down to our room and theres a loud barking dog across from us which is lovely when trying to relax. Get into the room which looks great, but as I walk to the window to see the beautiful view, all I can see are hundreds of HUGE spiders and webs all over the outside of the windows! I honestly didnt know spiders in minnesota got that big. So now im going to try to go to bed without having nightmares lol. Super nice location though, hopefully its nice out and we wont spend much time in the room.

We stayed at the Pier B Resort for a random winter weekend and loved it! They had a great winter specials which included a free breakfast and s’mores. We enjoyed our cozy room that overlooked the harbor. Our favorite part of the trip was roasting marshmallows. We even spotted a fox hunting a rabbit! I took away one star because of our breakfast experience. Though the breakfast was free, it was one of the worst experiences we have ever had while traveling. The waitress was rude and the breakfast tasted awful. If you’re staying at the hotel, I would not waste your money at the restaurant there. I wanted to show the front desk staff what I encountered in room 411 of this resort. I was unable to locate front desk staff so I ordered dinner and while waiting I kept checking the front desk and there was nobody around. We are in Duluth very often and I was hoping I would find Pier B to be a place I desired to stay ongoing....However, I was quite taken aback at the state of this room considering the prices that we had been previously advertised when we looked up locations to spend the long weekends.I wont even go into the food situation while (overdone fish and an upcharge of $3 for about 15 sweet potato fries) their but focus on the room.I first noticed that one beside light not only didnt work, but the whole unit spun around as I attempted to position it. Glancing at the yellow chair with the black marks on it, I can estimate it has not been cleaned much less vacuumed. The ceiling above the window where it meets the wall was very disturbing and which I can only guess is THE REAULT OF MOISTURE on steel I-beams when built. Also the BLACK - MOLD on the air conditioner unit suggests moisture issues and the air conditioning unit itself looks like it never gets a quick vacuum as you can easily see build up. The fan in the bathroom is also obviously overlooked and is an AWFUL sight. There were VERY few guests the night I stayed yet, all of us seemed to be on the 4th floor! Why? Easier for cleaning crews I imagine but very annoying. From 11-1am I listened to a child screaming....so much for my rested night before driving in the morning. For a newer facility, I am shocked at the lack of care/cleaning you are willing to say is acceptable. I would think that during this time especially you would be going ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure we all come back once commerce gets back in full swing. I won’t be back and neither will my friends and family!

We did a snack time later in the night after dinner and we adjusted the time earlier. When we asked to get them earlier all they said was “yes,ok!” They were out in less than 20 min. Also me and my husband went on many dates there before our wedding. It became our date night, weekend get away place to go. So the bartender became familiar with me (wife) wanting raspberry mojitos as a must have drink. This resort is the cream of the crop in Duluth. My partner, myself, and our poodle puppy decided to take a spring trip to Duluth (we live in the Twin Cities). We stayed one night at the Pier B Resort and really enjoyed our stay. With a modern/rustic interior and a beautiful view from most of the rooms the investors/builders of this resort have done a great job! I am usually a really critical reviewer - but the only thing I could find wrong with this stunning resort is the water pressure/shower heads. You cant control the way the water comes out (pressure/message/etc.) and the pressure of the water coming out makes it feel like they are trying to save water versus a luxury shower experience. But besides that this place was worth every penny we spent on it! The restaurant is also pretty good!

After another 10 mins of myself standing at sandwich board my family returned with a waitress. Finally, we were seated with menus. We waited another 15 mins with zero service. Mind you we were at the first table as you leave the hotel patio doors and not one server acknowledged us. We just got up and left. Extremely disappointing as this place could be a gold mine. Young man at the desk barely looked up, and just demanded a ID and credit card. Slid the room cards across the desk. Not very welcoming. We were the only people in the lobby. When we got to the room, noticed that the shampoo bottle provided by the hotel had a chunk of hair in the cap, and the bottle was almost empty. Threw the bottle away, when I mentioned it to the person at the front desk, he said Dont you hate when that happens. He handed me another bottle of shampoo. No apology. The room was very nice. Other than I felt I had to look it over to make sure house keeping actually cleaned it.

We loved staying here! Great modern rooms and fun vibe. We stayed in a patio king suite in the ground floor which was great. We could walk right out our patio door to the hot tub and fire pits. Beautiful view of the harbor. It’s an easy and short walk over to Canale Park. I highly recommend staying here!
