Best place in town to watch a movie. So clean and accommodating even with restrictions. Service was fast, friendly and fantastic.

Awesome theater! Love the seats and the over comfortableness. Tickets prices arent too bad either!! My only suggestion...bring back the bucket of beers option that previous management/owners had available. It was great for a date night. Other than that good place to go see a movie!

Myself, daughter and grandson went to watch 1917. We purchased three tickets and a snack pack. My grandson asked me if he could have some Airheads for $1.99. Absolutely I said. The person whom I just paid, said $3.99. I said sign says $1.99. He said, that is with purchase I said, I just paid you.$50+. He said, there is nothing I can do about it. What kind of business are you running here? We love your theaters, but will find another solution to our movie going!

The kids always LOVE going for the heated, recliner seats. Wont go to any other theater (unless theyre not the playing the movie I want to see lol) The popcorn seasoning table has a good variety and there are plenty of drink options. They offer small cone shape, paper cups so you can give the kids popcorn in it. I wish they would provide a second bag so we could split it up but they said no, which is understandable.

This was my first time there, and now I understand what people mean by the comfort factor. The reclining and heated seats provide an enjoyable time even if the movie was a 5 out of 10. Will definitely go back!

I was a regular AMC guy, but it seemed their customer service and quality were going down, while prices were going up. The first time I went to Phoenix I said to my family this is out new theater and they agreed. Heated seats, clean theater, friendly staff, and acceptable prices, family friendly and cheaper than the competition. To sum it up this is my new Dubuque movie theater.

The theater was impressive, excellent sound and visuals. The seats were very comfortable, recline and are heated! A tad expensive but you get your moneys worth for sure.

Comfy heated recliner seats, easy quick access to bathrooms and refills without missing much of the movie. Only negative, there isnt as much room for seating with the giant nice comfy seats. Either way, 5 star and pretty much the only place i go anymore.

The seats are by far the best part of this theater. We took the family to see Jumanji, the first preview was for an R rated horror movie. It scared both my kids and my wife. Service was slow at the counter and when we asked for kids for our sodas we were told they were on the opposite side of the other side of the concession stand. Poor service bad trailer bit the seats are comfortable

The seats are nice, and screens are roughly on par with the AMC. But the sound is awful. Loud, overblown, to the point that it is uncomfortable to sit there without hearing protection. Complaining about it does nothing. Unfortunately, the majority of the customers are too ignorant to understand that it is WAY TOO LOUD, or theyve sustained so much hearing damage already that they legitimately dont notice. Ill drive to Platteville before I go to AMC or Phoenix. Get your sh!t together.

Went to the earliest showing on a Saturday. There were 5 employees standing and talking taking the tickets. They were talking about being there for an hour already. But by the red chairs next to the restroom there was popcorn spilled all over the floor. One of the employees later down on the floor and started rolling around saying he found a penny. And the red fabric chairs by the bath room have brown marks all over the arm. The movie area was fine, but need more mature staff that are willing to clean.

The place was all just kind of dirty. The trash outside was overflowing before we went in and was still overflowing after movie was over. Theater itself was kind of dirty, food and trash on floors and in seats. Staff was nice enough, no problem there. Movie played with no problems. And of course, I enjoyed the seats. So comfy!

Very nice facility. Super comfortable chairs. Lost one star because the custodian still had to clean the theater literally 3 minutes before the movie was to start. Not sure what he was cleaning as the theater was spotless 2 minutes after he told us he was going in there to clean in. It was strange. He asked us to wait in the lobby while he cleaned it.... Yeah, no idea.

Absolutely love the heated, reclining seats! Had a great time at the movie with my husband and kids (11 and 8) except 2 issues. The theatre was a mess for not being overly busy, but that didnt bother me nearly as much as how shocked I was that they played a preview for an R rated horror movie (The Grudge) before a PG-13 movie (Jumanji). My kids were smart enough to cover their eyes and ears, but not before seeing more than they should have. There were other kids in the theatre and I imagine just as many disappointed parents. The previews before movies should be the same rating or lower. I would expect that a G rating wouldnt show PG-13, etc. Know your audience, Phoenix.....for what we pay for the movie and concessions, this can be a dealbreaker. I can always wait to stream the movie at home where my kids will not be exposed to terrifying previews that put horrid images in their heads that are absolutely unnecessary.

The seats were great, but the volume was so loud I almost walked out of the theatre. It ruined the whole experience.

Beautifully restored cinema in Dubuque Iowa owned by our friend, Cory Jacobson. We were here helping to celebrate an event featuring the films Field of Dreams, The Sandlot, and A League of Their Own. We just enjoyed a real interesting Q & A with the Sandlot cast, and are watching the movie for the very first time!

Loved the seats went on Christmas and everyone was friendly and got their early so got great seats

Seats, prices, excellent. The drawbacks are the food/candy prices (like all theaters), and definitely a small venue feel... kind of place that feels like it wouldnt go anywhere near offering an independent and excellent (or socially controversial) film.

Dubuque has a great new (opened in April) theater in town. Every seat in every theater is reclining and heated. The lobby has a player piano (baby grand) on auto, playing movie tunes. The restroom area has plush chairs for those waiting for others in their group to finish their business.Took one star off because they have weird red lights shining on the screen which turns all the trailers pink. Someone should fix that.

Amazing place to see a movie! Their prices are super reasonable and they have good popcorn. Also, the leather recliners are heated, never seen this before, but as someone whos always cold in theaters, this is an excellent feature.

I am only 5 ft tall. Being able to sit comfortably AND see the screen is awesome!! The only thing they could do for the fifth star is offer alternative options for splitting up large popcorn and soda. I took 4 students and had to buy 2 combos in order to make sharing possible. I ended up with an entire large popcorn and two large drinks left. If they could split a large into 4 smalls, I would be delighted!!

The staff is great and they keep the place pretty clean. I wish they had jalapenos for the nachos. Ill have to bring my own next time I guess. The seats are giant heated recliners spaced nicely from the row in front so there is plenty of room if you need to get out during the movie. We will be back!

They have couple managers that shouldnt work there, its expensive. I was told theyre less expensive than AMC and maybe thats true if you get some kind of combo deal but if you just get a ticket and a popcorn or something like that its not cheaper then AMC. If you have someone whos just a tad too tall in front of you and you recline and they arent then you cant see. The actual people that work there behind the counter and by the back post seem nice enough and at least they seem like theyre doing their jobs but I also heard someone I know who works at chic fil a say that they left because they knew that corporate wanted to fire him because of age. Also seems like corporate staff is a joke. Do not support this place. Its not worth it

Comfortable heated, reclining seats. Theater has phenominal 7.1 surround sound, may seem loud at first, but your ears get used to it and great 4k visuals. Their lobby has an amazing automated piano which gives a very professional and calm atmosphere. The rest of the lobby is pretty simple during the year, but they do put up cute decorations for the holidays.

I have to put four * because they didnt have the movie I was hoping to watch! Madelyn and few of the other staffs were super helpful! Above and Beyond Crew. Amazing customer service!Love the seats, oh so cozy and warm.P.S:I fall asleep cause it was so comfortable! LolDefinitely coming back!

Went To See the New Terminator Movie Today Had A good time

This theater is one of the nicest theatres weve gone to. The leather recliner seats are a treat. The atmosphere is relaxing and we will keep coming back. My only complaint is the trailers are too loud. Try to reduce the volume of them.

Love the new theater. We have already seen 3 of the newest movies here. The sound in each theater is incredible. The new seats I wish I had at home in my family room to watch movies. My only concern is I hope that patrons will respect the theaters commitment to spending that much money to completely renovate the place and not trash the seats.

We went to a matinee on opening day and its wonderful! The reclining seats are comfortable and the heated lumbar support is much appreciated. The movie sound and image quality are superb. Reasonably priced for the area. Much more comfortable to watch a movie than other places. Heated reclining seats, need I say more?The movie selection is more limited than a by place like AMC. But the smaller theaters make movie watching feel a little more like a personal experience.

Came here for the first time Saturday. Quenten was very helpful. But I would have liked everyone in the back to be more lively.

The seats are awesome!! Heated leather reclining seats with ample room for an individual and room between seats so your not stuck right next to a stranger. The double seats are situated so you can raise the middle arm rest and snuggle with your sweetie. The staff are super friendly. The sound quality is great and loud enough but not so loud it’s uncomfortable. Perfect viewing experience. Our new go-to movie theater!!

Clean space and friendly staff. The seats are all heated recliners and the price of tickets is very affordable. The drinks are pepsi products and there are unfortunately no icee/slushy machines. They have an automatic piano when you first walk in that is always playing and really adds to the experience.

The seats are very comfortable, the staff is wonderful, and there are a variety of show times for movies. However, the volume was very loud. Also, there are limited seats for each show. Get there early if you want to see a more popular movie. The wait line isnt too long for some movies.Things they need to work on:1. More food options.2. Volume control.3. Waiting room seats.

I had good experience with Phoenix theater. Always so polite and respectful. And they work very hard to get there job done. No attitudes no disrespecting. Always catching up on their jobs. And theyre very well clean.

By far the best movie experience I have ever had. They sell beer for goodness sake! Who doesnt want beer and a movie? And the popcorn was awesome too. They had flavor powders you can add on top! And the best part was the theatre chairs. Comfortable, has a leg rest and can recline. And a butt warmer!

When Phoenix came in and bought out the former theater I was skeptical, but after seeing how clean and nice everything is in this theater now I know it was the right choice. We go to this theater more than 2x a month, the staff is young and could use some professional, but I have never been disappointed with their service. The chairs in the theaters are so comfortable and warm. Definitely my favorite theater I will never go anywhere else. The only thing that needs work is their popcorn ;)

The all new Phoenix Theatre is excellent! The recliner chairs are very comfortable and easy to use, and it is not much more expensive for the accommodation!! The bathrooms are completely remodeled, the mens room is fully functional now. concessions are quick, tasty, and you can get half off candy if you get a popcorn deal. Also, it was easy for me to navigate with my wheeled walker or my wheelchair.

Seats are wonderful and relaxing, but not at all impressed with front area where you get snacks and tickets. Should have separate area for buying tickets. Dont like having to go to concession stand to purchase movie tickets.

Take earplugs!! Dont take your children !Went to a matinee yesterday. Took our normal middle of the theater seats - I immediately noticed the sound level was way too loud. I mix live performances as part of my day job. I have an app that is pretty accurate on my cell phone and fired it up - the sound level in the movie theater was hitting 105-108db on the previews as measured on my cell phone. This is way too loud for movie theater previews. Just for reference, down front seats at a full out rock concert would be 116-122 db.We ended up moving seats to the back row of the theater and the sound levels were regularly above 103db even in the back. I can easily say that I have never been to a movie theater where the sound levels were so crazy loud.Couple of other more minor complaints : As others have noted, I also noticed the screens extreme red tint for the previews which was just annoying - not sure why they think that it is a good branding move and to top off a miserable afternoon at the movies, the popcorn was stale.Worst movie experience in the past 10 years easily.

Great place. A little on the small side for seating capacity but the chairs being heated leather and able to recline do make up for it. Picture and sound are great.

Great Theater! Went for a matinee the theater was full and we had to sit in the front. Normally this would have meant a sore neck by the end. Not with these recliners! Every seat is heated and electronically reclines! Add to that $6 tickets and you have a recipe for success.

If you go to a matinee and avoid the concessions its decently priced sure. Even a matinee for 4 people, 1 combo, extra medium soda and bottle of water for 45 dollars though is a bit much. Then told they could not adjust the volume in the theater even though you could clearly hear the movie from the bathroom. Sit in the back half of the theatre as the seats do not fully recline and headrests do not adjust so any closer as it is difficult to try and recline your body but not your head and neck. I had high standards after being hit with the pricing for viewing a matinee and definitely did not feel that the experience justifies nearly 50 dollars on a Sunday afternoon for 2 hrs of our time.

I LOVE this theater! Everything is really well maintained and the employees are great. I had an issue when I took my girls to see Incredibles 2 and the manager Stephanie took care of us no questions asked. Great place!

This was our go-to movie theatre back when it was still Mindframe Theatre, so the loyalty feels are real. Are the heated recliners awesome? Yes. Is the improved sound system a pleasure? Yes. Is the front of the house makeover pleasant? Yes. Is having more hands on deck a relief? Yes.That said, it is clear that Phoenix Theatres has sold out to the big commercial distributors; basically, it is AMC just on a smaller scale, with the same infantile, juvenile, uber-commerical offerings. We miss the art and indie films that were a mainstay at Mindframe. We miss the uniqueness. We wish there was a movie theater in Dubuque, Iowa, that offered films for thinking adults. Alas, Phoenix Theatres is not it.

I love the remodel, the whole place feels a little magical. The reclining chairs are great, they even have a built in heater! Which is great for me because Im always cold in theaters.

Thank you for having the most comfortable seats in town! Wed like it better if you moved the popcorn butter to self serve, but you guys pour it on when asked so that works too!
