Ive lived in Douglas county my whole life and always enjoyed coming to this park and I was never hassled or made to feel like I wasnt welcome here until today. Apparently some entitled woman from the wsa has been given dominion over the park now and tried charging me to use the damned picnic tables. I wont ever go back. Hope it closes to tell the truth

I have an expensive Aquaglide inflatable kayak and they wouldnt let me fish there. This kayak is safe with a drop stitch floor. They need to investigate what is safe and not safe before painting the world with a broad paintbrush. It could easily be done... ie.. drop stitch floor requirement.Update: Management responded and apologized. They will permit me to launch my kayak at the reservoir.

We really enjoy going here. We live just a few minutes down the road and it makes for a nice and rather cheap day. Rent a jon boat with a trolling motor for $15.00 for a half day (6 hours). Pack a lunch and enjoy the day out on the water.

It is really a great place to fish from a boat, however...there are very few places to fish from the bank. There needs to be more access for the non boaters. Im sure if any bank fishermen were to start blazing some trails on their own to be able to get to more fishing areas, they would be asked to stop or possibly get a citation, so they should really consider more accessibility for the non boating anglers, and they really need to improve the parking situation. I suffer from heart disease yet I dont use a handicap tag and the walk back to the car almost killed me as it was at least a 45 degree incline that spanned maybe 150 to 175 ft uphill. Not an ideal activity for anyone that has any cardiovascular issues. Just because someone doesnt use or hasnt been issued a handicap tag doesnt negate the fact that someone can still have disabilities without one.

Nice location, I am planning to go there more often.

Nice calm waters for kayaking, but only for douglas county residents, or with county residents. I dont fish but have heard from many it is good for fishing. No gas motors allowed.

This place is nice to boat around and fish. Its quiet and peaceful no big boats are a loud but fishing is the ideal thing to do here. Everyone that likes to fish in a boat then u should try this place sometime. It locks the gates at dark and opens around 7 am.

Great fishing but best from a boat. Boat rentals are available. You must be a Douglas County Resident and if you dont have a season pass it is $5.
