This is a pretty decent park for walking and free birthday party setups, but the playgrounds here are more accommodating to smaller children. They have recently constructed a newer playground, though it lacks fluidity and feels more like an outdoor gym set.The disc golf course is okay, but if youre already in the area, Deer Lick and (especially!!!) Boundary Waters is close enough to go there instead. The lake is kinda small, but it is cool how they setup a water spout in the middle.Overall, Id recommend this place if you happen to be making a rest stop and need to stretch your legs. It was clean, especially considering how many people gather here. Not a bad spot overall, but definitely a little less stellar than other parks.

This park has a little bit for everyone in the family. The new playground area for ages 13 and up is great for adults as well as teens. Don’t wanna sweat, go for a leisure walk around the water. Don’t want to walk at all? The military memorial/ museum has you in mind. Just don’t feed the ducks

Visited for the first time today and I was so impressed! There’s A LOT to do here. I was happy the kids play ground was safe and not super tall. I’m so scared of my toddler falling so it was perfect. It’s definitely going to be my go to park from now on!

Love this park. The staff takes such good care of it. We need cooperation from the people that visit the Park. They are so many trash cans all over the park. Please use them. Lets our Hunter Park remain beautiful and clean.

Love this park. It feels like it has everything. Track to run on and also open roads and sidewalks. A great outdoor workout area. Cool jungle gyms. Several baseball fields/tennis courts/basketball courts. a decent disc golf course for beginners. Ping pong tables. The community center is great too. Just needs an outside water source to fill up bottle waters.

Very pretty, lots of play areas for kids and a pong in the middle. This place is very good for pictures, and the geese, train, train tracks (not operating) are all good for pictures and entertainment. The playgrounds are well maintained and they have services like renting bikes if you didnt bring one yourself.

Great place for kids to play and run around. Great playground space. Love to bring our babies for a fun time.

Nice park, mostly football and baseball fields. They do have a beginner friendly disc golf course that is a lot of fun to play.

Its a very nice park to just take the kids out or even just have a stroll by yourself

Really enjoyed the walking track around the fountain lake. The scenery and people were wonderful. The retired jet is cool and theres a disc golf course that looks pretty awesome! We enjoyed watching the super serious, sweatband wearing, college-aged kids that were practicing with their Frisbees for the course. Really nice park.

Enjoyed the Halloween drive thru. The photo booth table and the #14 table was awesome.

This is great clean park if you want to just get some fresh air! There’s a bit of construction going on at the time of this review but it’s in the back so it’s not a huge deal. I wish the walk trail was a bit longer. You have to go around the lake 3 times just to get to a mile. If you are going for a casual stroll, this is OK. However, if you’re looking for a good workout or a longer walk and go to somewhere like Sweetwater which isn’t too far.

This park was really nice. We loved the little trail around the pond, but they could use some more stuff to play on.

Nice quiet place to walk. There is a mini lake/ pond where people can walk around. Minus the geese that like to run at you at times, its a great park for families to bring their children to play.

Sadly no basketball courts. They got rid of them. For basketball courts try jessie park. They are making improvement for out door cook out. They have a few tennis courts. Hard to find.. a place to go if you want fresh air. Wish they had at least 2 basket ball court. Nice looking community center and good playground for the kids. Soft Drink machines are located inside the center. lots of baseball field. They have swings for 20 month old and up. A goods place to bring your kids. They have a path for jogging around the lake. Bathrooms are located inside the center.

Beautiful park. It took me seven years to go to this park. I enjoyed walking around the track at the park. It is clean and the grounds are well kept.

Douglas Countys gem! This park is nicely maintained grounds, no garbage thrown around, peaceful, no loud music or people, beautiful scenery to view while walking. It also has a lovely shaded playground for kids. Its my favorite place for a peaceful safe walk! Now that you know its awesome... dont come visit if you cant appreciate or positively contribute to the quality of the environment!

I recently learned about this place. It is a fun place to go when your bored and its free! They have ping pong, basketball, and pool tables and more.

The park has improved a lot since the 1980s, despite the loss of the pool and the train. There is a lot to see and do here. The community center is beautiful, and features restrooms, vending machines, and a game room with free ping pong. Kids love playing on the old railroad tracks. The playground is nice and the lake is beautiful. There is a disc golf course and baseball fields, and an old train. Watch for snakes down by the creek.

Parking was extremely limited. Was there for a baby shower and rooms are spacious. From what I saw there were play grounds but no dogs allowed

My kid enjoys the park and the game room. We enjoy the water, walking trail, and animals. They also hold events for a variety of reasons and people.

My favorite place to unwind. Beautiful park. Can walk around the park with ease or just sit and have lunch. FYI has WiFi and several stations throughout the park.

Four words, bring back the train...

Really beautiful place! You can walk by the pond and see the ducks, geese, and the turtles! The playground looks like a pleasant place to bring kids and the staff are nice and willing to help. If you find yourself strolling through the baseball area theres even a picnic area with fans! Would highly recommend!

This is a park I visited in my child hood. It is very scenic, and the lake looks very pretty at night. The main downside is that if you try to fish, you may not catch anything due to overfishing. The park also has a catch and release rule that also requires a fishing licenses. The play ground is great for children of all ages, and has a shade over it so the playground equipment doesnt overheat.

I came from BUFFALO N.Y. and we had our family reunion picnic at this park. I really recommend this place, because the scenery was beautiful and we had tables by the pond.

Hunter is one of Douglasvilles best parks. They have a beautiful lake, not to mention great courts if youre into tennis. The indoor center has meeting rooms and a lounge area with ping pong. Sometimes I like to spend the whole day at the park. Theres always events going on or something fun to do. Theres a new playground for young kids, and lots of open space that people of all ages will love.

Lots to do. There was a wedding party being photo graphed, two birthdays, and other activities. The community center is free, paid for by our tax dollars, and the staff was lovely. We will definitely be coming back!

The Disc golf park is fun. Short technical shots. Some easier than others. And its doesnt swamp up immediately after rain like most courses around here.

From a child playing here to a parent bringing my kids here its my favorite playground in the West side of Douglas County. The Rec Building is inviting and equipped with friendly staff. Playground has shade over the equipment so my children can do well in the southern heat.

I love this park! Itis clean and well maintained. Has nice scenery for sitting or walking. Lots of activity area for kids to play and climb. Would like to see more umbrellas for shade in seating area.

Ive been visiting this park for years now. Really nice playground for children. Nice lake with WAY over aggressive geese, so do not feed unless you want to be attacked! Baseball fields, plenty of place to wonder off and roam. Hey, gets the job done. Oh, and a nice rec center as well.

Big park with plenty of parking and areas for large gatherings but needs more trails for joggers and runners. Just one third of a mile paved trail around the lake is pretty much all you have.
