Nice neighborhood park. Some off street parking spaces on Witmer parkway/34th St. The walking trail has been updated and is smooth around the perimeter loop and over to the two tennis courts. There is some sidewalk that turns into gravel to walk along the pond, then some landscaping steps up the middle area where you can join the perimeter loop. There are three remaining swings in the center of the park, no other play equipment. However, if you want a large open grassy area for activities, this would be a good place. Several benches and picnic areas, too. Otherwise nice and quiet yet somewhat underwhelming park.

This small neighborhood park could be considered a diamond in the rough. Cudos to the city of Des Moines for a recent walkways, pond work, and accessible fishing dock, but it will take some time for this diamond to sparkle. Well be back.

There have been lots of improvements to this park. I think it could use a splash pad and I wish they would bring back ice skating in the winter.

Mi

This park is not huge, but it has a swing set and small playground, four or five picnic tables, a large field for dogs to romp around on, and is generally a beautiful place overlooking a small pond and sort of up on a hill. We picnicked on our way through Des Moines at this park and thought it was spectacular. Not large but very nice in a quiet neighborhood.

My pup, Daphne, loves visiting Witmer Park. It is in the middle of ongoing renovations, and I am looking forward to seeing the end-product. I think its supposed to be done sometime spring/summer 2020.

I enjoy walking around this little park that is tucked away in Beaverdale. I watched turtle feed on a small dead fish while meandering my way around the pond/lake. People fish there too, so thats a nice added touch to the scenery.

Its always under construction n that pond has never not been gross.

Ru
Review №43

Its a parking lot next to a cesspool. At least they put a fountain in the mess, though that just kind of spreads the smell. What wildlife resides often makes strange noises or have extra appendages. Ever seen a blue robin, it will change you on the inside. Wear protective equipment when strolling the field behind the rusty playground equipment as it is littered with feeces of animal properties. Great place for a picnic.

I love this park, but it really could use some slides, and the pond needs better upkeep. It has the BEST grassy field, and theres a Pokéstop right next to the pond. (Theres also a gym in the play area.)

Small park with a trail around the pond and a small playground. The playground is up a hill and not easily accessible for individuals with disabilities. The paved path is typically unkempt and can be difficult to walk on in places. A lot of the grass areas are uneven and hilly.
