I am not Catholic; therefore, in that regard, & per the scope of a Google Review, I prefer to remain neutral as to the quality of the Catholic Religious Experience as it pertains to St. Ambrose Cathedral. That being said, the Cathedral is indeed quite impressive—and, ...pending restrictions...from the thing..., I would recommend a visit! Ive never been during service; but Ive been many times nonetheless—the staff/volunteers/anyone Ive ever interacted with at the Cathedral...they have always been nice to me and generally great to work with.

The courtyard is magical. You go in and you cant help but be put into a meditative state.

Only been there for a Drake Univ. choir concert, but its a beautiful worship space with stained glass windows and an ornate ceiling.

Attended Mass here to meet the new Bishop. What a wonderful and beautiful church. And the most diverse congregation Ive ever seen. Excellent homily. Highly recommend!

They have mass everyday at 7:00 a.m. for people no familiar with it, it is in a chapel that is on the on the side of the church, they have rosary before and a beautiful prayer after mass, which you dont have to do if you choose not to.They have an old organ that I wish we would have had the time to stay and heard a regular mass.

Wonderful ordination tonight of two new catholic priests. St. Ambrose is beautiful downtown Des Moines church called the cathedra, the bishops church. Courtyard very peaceful.

Amazingly beautiful building, alter, stained glass windows and more. Gives you the feeling that you are truly in church when your there for mass. I love the church bells, too. The mass, the readings and homily is so traditional and makes me feel good.
