Its an entertaining place, but a little run down and too hot. You can play free mini-golf with purchase of a drink, so thats fun!! They generally play good music and theres a lot of people. Definitely good for a casual drink and if youre feeling like some games.

The 1-up has always been one, nay is say my favorite bar and hangout spots to go to. If you want good vibes, great drink specials, pinball, skeeball, basketball, and of course tons and tons of nostalgic retro arcade games, than this is the place for you. Awesome bar and lots of video games for the newbies and us vets lol super cool and friendly staff and great management!!! Most definitely a 5 out of 5 stars!!!

VERY packed, with little room to move around in some areas. Drinks have never been satisfying, some undrinkable, even. Games are fun though and its kinda of neat to check it out. Ive been to better arcade bars.

Had a great time. Every game I was wanting to play was there. It was my first time but it will definitely not be my last. Even got to snap a pic of my husband and I in a coin/card op photo booth. Best part was the games were clean. No little kids sticky fingers. I may have a new fave spot.

Always a fun time at 1Up Arcade. There’s so many different types of games that are all super fun. Think more bar with arcade than arcade with a bar like Dave & Busters. This place is a great time no matter what day of the week you go and they’ll do specials like $3 wells and $1 mimosas. I highly recommend for a date, night out with friends, etc.

Great games, great bar, and great staff. The one odd thing is that both bars arent open all the time, so its safer to just go to the main bar as you walk in all the time. Games are reasonably priced, and the drinks arent bad either. I will definitely be coming back here when I get the chance again.

Truly an awesome arcade bar. They have all of the classics that youd want to play, and duplicates of many classic games youre undoubtedly terrible at. Tons of skee ball and more pinball machines than any one person could handle. The machines are pretty cheap and pizza is good. Go spend all of your money. Play Tapper.

Good atmosphere, would recommend coming during the weekdays as weekends tend to be blown out. Their drink menus are moderately priced. Tons of games to choose from. Love their pinball collection.

Seemed to be very popular, was definitely crowded when I went. Paid $11 for two well drinks and you could taste how cheap the liquor was. However, security walked the rooms and made sure things were safe and clean. All the games were functional, bathrooms had neat decorations and were pretty clean. Might try to go again on a less busy day.

This is a really cool bar. The outside is a little sketchy looking and it took us a minute to figure out where the entrance was. The inside is filled with many pinball machines and old arcade games (Tetris, Mario, donkey Kong, ski ball, etc.). The games are all working well and the whole place is extremely clean. There are two bars to get drinks at and booths to sit in. They have an ATM machine and a chance machine. All of the games accept quarters only and range in price from $0.25 to $1.00.

The perfect place to get drunk and relive some childhood memories. Loud, lively, fun.

Love love love this bar and arcade! Its seriously the best thing for adults to do! Finally a place that doesnt charge an arm and a leg for gaming. Me and my BF go and never spend more than $20 on games! Its amazing! Plus, their drinks are some of the best prices in town. This place does it right! Its definitely one of our go to hang out places now. Plus, I like this one better than the one in LoDo...I think they have more games at this one!

Nice arcade. All the games were in good working order. Large selection of games. Good variety of drinks at the bar. This location could use some food. The games are priced right. Lots of retro games, its a good time, will visit again. Everything is clean, staff are nice.

This was the finest barcade i have EVER seen...the #pinball options and #arcade cabinets were not only a solid collection of well tended 90s and 2000s tables but also those that just debuted in the Pinball Festival a couple days ago, including Munsters AND Beatles. Wikked cool.

While they do have a nice selection of classic video and new pinball games to play due to their aggressive and intimating security staft I experienced wouldnt recommend. Dave still stinks.

A great barcade with an amazing selection. I love places like this. The beers are cold, and cheap. The arcade options are vast. Plenty of pinball, oldschool, and modern new arcades, all playable for 25 cents a credit. I know some barcades are free, but when you see the selection they have, you understand why it’s worth paying the modest fee. Bartenders were friendly as well. Would definitely go back.

Great place for any retro gaming advocate. Great selection of arcade games, and an even better selection of pinball tables. I cant wait until I get more free time there.

Went mid afternoon on a Sunday. Not many people there, but it gave me a good opportunity to check out many of the machines. Pinball was a blast and I loved the variety they had. You need a horizontal ID to get in, even if you are over 21.

Always SO much fun. Such a better alternative than going to a club or something. It could definitely be a little bit cleaner but for a bar on Colfax, its pretty damn good.

LOVE this place. Its a ton of fun and the games arent expensive at all. You can have a lot of fun and make it a whole night on the cheap.

Lots of different pin ball games and arcade games to play. Usually very crowded on Friday and Saturday night. Fairly clean and the games are a decent price. One can easily lose track of time and money in this place.

Wow. Adulting has never been so fun!! Have some drinks, play pinball, have another, go play giant jenga outside.. if you have another play ski ball. Great place to go have drinks and play retro games, just like you did when they had arcades in malls and arcade halls. Forgot your quarters? Dont worry about it, the change machine will give you more than your pockets can handle! Ill keep on coming back!

Excellent place to enjoy some oldies but goodies. If you like double dragon and pin ball this is your spot. If you just like to drink in interesting bars then this is also your place. Not much for food at all, so make sure you eat before or have a great place in mind afterwards. Cheeba Hut is a great spot to dive into some lovely eats.

When I think of a good arcade bar, I think of 1up. I love to look for places like this in major cities but I cannot seem to find one better. They have practically all the games you would want and then some you did not even know existed. From Simpsons, to Mortal Kombat to Contra to Michael Jackson, I could spend all my money here. Cool bar with hella throwback arcades,duh. But the cool part is the life sized Jenga and patio out back. Also the special cocktails are really yum! I go here all the time when people come to town to have a great time.

Came here to visit an old friend of mine from the service. Other than it being a bar, the selection of games were awesome. Definitely a trip down memory lane. Speaking of memories, I need to mention the music that plays here. If youre a fan of bands who youd expect to play at Warped Tour, this is the place. The music, games, vibe, and culture here is amazing. I dont really drink but I still enjoyed my time here. Definitely recommend it!

This place is amazing! So many games to choose from and great service from the bar.Only critique is some of the games are busted or in poor working condition, but not many.

My first time at the 1up included several old school video games.One moment was more important to me personally. Growing up I would ask to check out the local arcade to play Mortal Kombat. A kid my age would be usually playing the game. We would get to know each other and become best friends. Sadly, he passed away a few years ago, and playing that arcade game brought back a lot of memories.On a more positive note, I did check out the AC/DC pinball game and started to make plans with my dad to check them out on their hopefully 2020 tour.

Fun!! spent only $10 in two hours on the games. Cant complain when you play video games and get to drink

I came here in June of 2017 and had an absolute blast, I would have stayed longer had I not had a concert down the road at the Filmore. Anyway, I just wanted to say I have been to lots of arcade bars across North America since then and this is by far the best one I have ever been to. The biggest selection of games, awesome alcohol prices and great staff. A lot of other places just have a free play set up, but I’d argue that using quarters is more authentic and more fun. Can’t say enough good things about this place. I can’t wait to get back to Denver to come here again.

I always recomend this bar to people looking for something to do. The bar tenders are normally pretty great too. On weekends this place gets pretty busy.

Went here for my birthday expecting not to be impressed but it was amazing. Great drinks at good prices. Beer on tap for $3. The arcade games are all 50¢ or a quarter. Awesome place have been back on multiple occasions.

Super cool place! Bar was reasonably priced with some really interesting and unique options! Arcade was a real blast from the past, with the real treat being that every game was 25¢-50¢. Very pleasantly surprised by that in contrast to most other barcades. Staff was friendly, place was clean, cant wait to go back.

Great if you have a bunch of friends who want to get a few drinks and casually play some arcade games. My biggest issue is that many of the fighting game cabinets need better maintenance . Often the buttons are sticky and nonresponsive.

Reminds me of the better arcades of my youth, before some got too seedy and violent (Chicago area in the late 80s) or cheesed up and ridden with rug rats a la Dave & Busters. Nice to play a video game again with real controls, not some cheap plastic controller. Plus, pinball! Gives your mind and body a chance to be creative, unlike video games.

Seems like a cool place but was declined entry for having a vertical Wisconsin ID even though it is completely valid and Im 27. This was a place recommended to me and could have been a blast. I heard its up to the business discretion to allow a vertical ID so heres a well deserved 1 star review. :(

Lots of old school arcade style video games to play. Tons of pinball machines to play as well. Good music and drinks added to a great time. Had a few TVs on the wall by the bars so you can catch a sports game, if wanted. I enjoyed this place quite a bit.

Went to visit this place while visiting Denver. The husband and I enjoyed ourselves. Very friendly staff,the bouncer even wished me a happy belated birthday when he checked my ID. I was a little concerned about the area since we went at night and had to park two blocks away.

This place is the barcade concept flawlessly executed. Incredible range of games all functioning and beautifully-maintained, including nearly 50 pinball machines which looked like they had all been cleaned and shopped that morning. Games are all reasonably priced (e.g. - $.50 pinball across the board), drinks were totally reasonable, staff is friendly and decor is super thematic without being cheesy. Look for lots of small touches in the decor that really further the concept. Another pinball paradise!

As always, an enjoyable retro arcade experience. Watch out for the 1player side on X-Men as it likes to steal quarters. Pinball gamers heaven, and the cabinets have rotated games since I was last there. Reasonable (for a bar) drink prices and no cover. Will return again. A great tourist attraction or local hangout.

Would have loved to go here- my boyfriend was looking forward to it leading up to our trip. Was denied because my valid Louisiana ID is vertical, even though I’m 23. Saw a similar review left about that but wanted to try to get in since we were all looking forward to it. Caused our whole party of 4 to leave- such a bummer when it takes two seconds to look at my DOB and expiration date, something the liquor store across the street did in two seconds, and let me be on my way.

Todays visit to 1up here on Colfax was definitely the first of many visits. For someone who admires gaming and technology, this was a paradise. I enjoyed the vast variety of games they had, the layout was set to be pretty open, and most games allowed up to 4 players, which made group gaming very fun and interesting. There were 2 bars that I had stumbled upon, the bartenders were attentive, polite and urgent. Neither myself, husband nor friends waited a long time on drinks, considering both bars I had run into were fairly overwhelmed with patrons. The dings and boings from the sea of arcade games, cheers of successes and defeat swallow the music, which makes for a more private experience with friends/SOs since the noise is too loud to interfere with other groups.

Yes! A place where you can enjoy cheap drinks and arcade games. My friends and I stop by 1UP for a fun late night activity every so often. Their staff if pretty attentive, though it can get really busy inside & you’ll have to wait a little longer for drinks and games. Skee-ball is always super popular, among old school games and new age 4 person Pac Man.

FUN, FUN, FUN! We spent way too much money playing arcade games, but it was worth it. My hubby and I spent a night hanging out here and it was a blast. It was crowded, but we were still able to play games. The drink service was great and the staff was friendly. You should definitely check this place out. A great date night idea, too.

Really cool place. The bouncers are the resistance. If I decide to go back it will be a hard decision just from the uncomfortable environment they create. The games are cool, bartenders are cool. Bouncers carry unnecessary attitudes.
