Nice park! We had our church community picnic here and it was a great location. Lots of space, playground, creek, etc. Shelter tables are not in good shape and grills are tiny, but still useable. Small little baseball diamond that was good for t-ball with the kids.

Love this park. Nice variety for a medium sized urban park. But why does Denver not have more off leash dog areas? What the city offers are small fenced sandy lots with no trees, water or grass. Other cities offer much more pleasant facilities.

Pretty decent park for toddlers. Not the newest playground, but decent. We like that a sidewalk goes all the way around the actual play area, this works great for wheelchair dads watching kiddos play! Lots of trees for shade picnics in the grass and plenty of grass area and field to play in. Parking is easy with sidewalks from side street parking to play area, again great for wheelchair (or stroller) access! Overall a decent park, the play area is all sand and purely in the sun, so bring sunblock!

It has a great trail that circles the entire facility. A play area for kids, half of basketball court, & bunch of open field for football, soccer, cheerleading & baseball all at one time if need be. Inside they have a small but adequate workout room with indoor basketball courts available. This recreational facility is also equipped with Conference rooms for parties, & a dance studio.

I live in the area and go a few days a wk. Usually never crowed, has a couple soccer fields with goals, a rugby/football field, playground for the kiddos, typical park environment. Nice neighborhood. Decent size if there arent any games taking up the fields. Also a little red. center w/ gym, where I believe a membership is required

The Denver Parks and Rec system is pretty fantastic. The extremely affordable gym membership is the primary reason we go, and it has been a good experience overall. Max (who is at the front desk most days) is the friendliest person you will ever meet! Always makes me feel welcome, which is not something you find very often at a gym. Weight room can get crowded during rush hour but theres usually enough cardio equipment to go around.

Circuit Training Class at Cook Park Rec Center:The current instructor is excellent. She is doing her best to lead and explain the exercise program to those who want to learn. Shes a contractor and NOT a disgruntled city employee. The class and facility itself however is dirty, noisy and crowded. This is a great low cost alternative to the more expensive private fitness facilities in Denver but there are some major disadvantages:1. The machines and building are rarely cleaned and/or maintained as in a private sector facility.2. Some attendees think nothing of jabbering in loud voices with each other during the sessions about their personal lives. This is annoying and makes it hard to hear the instructor with all the competing noise.3. The class is limited to 30 participants - probably 10 too many for a reasonable class experience in this relatively small and crowded room.It would be a lot better if the City could afford to have 2 sections of this class in consecutive time slots. One for those who enjoy the social aspects of the class and one for those who would prefer just a good workout and learning experience. The city doesnt offer any suggestion box or other means of providing feedback.

Denver Parks are a treasure. I like Cook Park because It has a fully staffed rec center with year-around activities for all ages. My 90 yr old parents live close by and Ill bring them to the rec center for some of the senior programs. I grew up in Denver, but was gone for 30 years. When I came back there were these great parks, bike trails and light rail. Kudos to the city government officials who envisioned this for Denver!

Formerly a great park but now it is being used by transients living in their vehicles as a spot to dump trash onto the parking lot and using the rec center ( without a membership) to shower and use bathroom without permission. I was threatened by one of these transients ( many are out-of -state new arrivals probably hoping for free pot ) last Saturday at 9 AM, and he brazenly brandished a small pistol. I called 911 but he fled quickly once he saw me on the phone. White male , about 59 200 lbs. dressed in camo with a late model jeep cherokee ( dark color covered with dirt ) This happened in parking lot 30 yards from rec center. There are also a lot of off-leash dogs and some kook trying to learn how to fly his drone ( coming close to injuring kids, dogs, and others ) This park needs safety enforcement. Without it it will just get worse!
