My visit to La Cour was an exquisite experience. It presented a classy and romantic ambience perfect for a night out with a special someone. In a beautiful setting with exposed brick walls, classic decor and hardwood floors, your evening is ensured to be enjoyable. The food was formidable; quite tasteful. A small menu is offered but the taste of the entrees offered are worth the limited selection. That evening, music was played only by a singer and a piano; it was fantastic. Make sure to browse the restaurants calendar prior to your visit so you can determine which night youd like to visit. The music selection is diverse and quite nice.My evening was exceptional. Im looking forward to visit again.

The only issue I had was the band played there music to loud so I had plug my ears so I wouldn’t get a headache. Other than that, I would recommend this place.

Love the atmosphere! You feel like you just walked into a French bistro somewhere in the South of France even though youre on South Broadway in Denver. The appetizers are amazing and the changing menu is wonderful. And we havent even gotten to the music! I would love to say I loved this place and had a great New Year’s Eve . Unfortunately that is not the scenario. We arrived for our seating on time the kitchen was dragging and took over an hour for us to get our entrees . This is not acceptable in the situation . We where then rudely rushed to get up form our table so that the establishment could get the next set of diners in while not being given the time to complete our meal. When you are only offering four different entree selections to a restaurant of 30 patrons you should not run into this situation . The only apology we received for the lack of service was when they asked us to leave our table . We will not be back and I would not suggest that anyone allow these folks to be responsible for any special occasion if they can avoid it .Happy new year ! Thanks for the rushed and unsatisfying experience !

We came for the live music and were not disappointed! Great ambiance with low lighting and exposed brick walls. The happy hour menu was alright, would have liked to see a few more options for beer, but its understandable since they do mostly wine. Service was also a little slow, the table that was seated 10 minutes after us received their appetizers before us. However we mostly just went for the music which was fantastic so Im giving 4 stars

The La Cour is a cozy Art Restaurant/Jazz Club. (Cozy means small.) Everybody enjoyed their meal the night that we ate there. However, my Salmon was a little mediocre. I thought that we would enjoy supper, music and good conversation. The jazz band was a piano and a singer. Although I enjoyed their music, the sound was too loud for the venue. Did the singer and piano really need an amplifier to project into this small venue!? The music was so loud that you could barely hear the person sitting across from or next to you. Sorry, I will not be going back there to enjoy super and a meal. I gave it a 3 stars because the food was good and the music was good, just not both together.

Shout out to La Cour Art Bar in Denver. Stumbled in by accident already full and a little buzzed. Candlelight Tavern and Dive Inn are honorable mentions (Dive Inn wins one of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had.) We stopped in for one last drink before leaving Broadway street. John was the bartender and I could watch this guy pour all day. Every drink he made had the same standard, perfection. All you can smell at the bar is a long line of fresh herbs and ingredients ready to turn into drinkable art. The cheesy crab dip is out of this world as well. Words from another patron, you are a master of your craft. I will be back.

Delicious food, intimate dining with great jazz. I have not had a dish or drink I didnt like here. The owner is always there and actively helping out. One of the specials tonight was the braised beef short ribs. The beef was fork tender and flavorful. Complimented with mashed potatoes and veggies. The strawberry walnut salad is a staple and is perfectly sweet and tangy with a nutty crunch. I would swear they use a fresh strawberry vinaigrette. Amazing. Make sure you make reservations since it is an intimate location and fills up quickly.

I also had the 24 ounce Bloody Mary it was the best one Ive had at a bar or restaurant, it wasnt a glass full of ice with little ingredients poured over it like other places make, you get 24 ounces of a Bloody Mary and you can pick which type you want from a list of different mixtures. My boyfriend loved his food also. He had the bread pudding for dessert and said it was the best hes ever had. The service was friendly and attentive.

We enjoyed the Sunday Jazz brunch at La Cour; the upstairs venue is intimate and pretty, with real art on the mostly-brick walls yet a generally modern decor; the food was excellent, my Italian Eggs Benedict was spectacular and the other guests enjoyed their food as well. The music was high quality and enjoyable, perhaps a touch loud for a small place (one expects to have conversation at brunch, and we managed). The service was Parisian - a bit relaxed, it took a few minutes before we were greeted at the table and our lattes arrived after the meal was delivered, but nothing egregious and perhaps it set a nice tone. The neighborhood is mildly sketchy, with industrial facilities a block off Broadway - it appears to be in the early to middle stages of gentrification. Beware, Google had trouble providing good directions - the restaurant is right on Broadway, west side south of Iowa. Four stars, wed go back!

The food quality, service, wine and overall function of the restaurant was a huge disappointment. We dined Thursday night (July 25). We were quickly seated upstairs where the jazz band was playing, who were very good. They were the best part of our experience. Everything else was abysmal:- We ordered tastes of two different wines by the glass, only to be told that one of them was only offered by the bottle, even though it was listed as a wine by the glass on the specials board. When I pointed to the glass price on the board, our server, Austin, said that the owner was currently in Paris and things are a little disorganized here. (It takes 2 seconds to erase something like that from a specials board)- It took forever to get our bottle of wine that we ordered and it wasnt chilled properly. Austin brought what he called an ice bucket to keep the bottle cool, but it did no such thing. It was essentially a plastic bucket that took up more space on our table.- It took forever to get our food and when we finally did get it, the sauce that I had asked to be on the side of my entree was covering my fish. I had to send it back because I have an allergy to dairy. Austin said that he simply forgot about my request. So now Im waiting even longer for food that already took a while to come out in the first place.- When my salmon arrived a second time, I took one bite and sent it back. That was the worst piece of salmon Ive ever eaten. Terribly cooked. And now that I think about it, Austin never asked how I would like my salmon cooked, which is standard practice.- My husband ordered the chicken, which was supposed to come with grilled vegetables (per Austin) but instead came with potatoes au gratin and a sweet potato custard. Two potato side dishes??? My husband was less than thrilled, but by that time starving so ate it.- As for what I ate for dinner that night? I picked up a hot dog from a vendor downtown after we left.- Horrible service. Unacceptable food quality. Very poor wine service. We wont be back.

On my first, and only, visit I was very impressed by the overall mood and feeling of the place. Very personable staff, especially at the bar where I was sitting. Impressive wine list and wicked selection of cocktails. The charcuterie board is on point, except for the lack of proper condiments to accompany the items. This is the only reason, for me, to not give a fifth star. I was wishing for some honey to go with the chest and some olive oil for the Bresaola. A couple of slivers of good Parmigiano would have helped the Bresaola as well. Definitely will be back with friends.

The most embarrassing restaurant I have ever visited with the worst service.I was there with a large group to see a Jazz singer one night, my party was large but since we all had different schedules the waitress didnt have to take everyones order at once, she had time as different couples would show up at different times as the night went onI ordered my drink, along with my lady friends drink.Mine came out immediately, Hers didnt we had to remind the waitress 3 times and that was only when we could see her.My lady friends drink came out with the meal :/ Yes, after the salad was finished. When I received the bill I noticed she didnt charge me for one of the entrees and I thought it was to make up for the e trembly slow service and the fact that she ignored my lady friends drink for a half hourSo I tipped a bit extraOnly to find out that this incompetent waitress called my phone, which means she had to have pestered all my friends who were still there for my number. To ask me if she could add the entree to my bill!!!!!??It gets better...I give her permission and took a day to think about it and called the restaurant. I felt that if they could have an incompetent waitress add an entree to my bill that they would be able to remove my tip. This is where it gets ugly, I called and spoke to a woman who claimed to be an owner.Instead of her apologizing, I had to hear her tell me about a misunderstanding (no apology) I had to hear about how it was a busy night (no apology) and finally how they can add to my bill but they cant remove something from my bill???! (Still no apology)I was fuming at this point in the conversation, this place is more concerned about excuses more than they are about their patronsI even told her that Id rather handle this politely and quickly over the phone and have them credit my card (should be easy to do) but no she finally asked me for my address to mail me a checkThis is not a place where you can expect good service and if you complain, theyll tell you its your own faultIm posting this story in every manner of social media and in every online location that will allow me to do so.Too bad this business owner didnt have the wherewithal to figure out their customers are important.Sad place to go to be mistreated

Discriminatory. We came to La Cour about a week ago for the first time. Although the patio itself is very pretty and well decorated, our experience was awful. We were one of three tables sitting outside on the patio and were greeted by our server, then a few minutes later by another server. The first server was very nice and gave us a few minutes since we only wanted dessert and what we ordered was not available. The second server was nice at first, she smiled in our faces as she took our order, but that was the extent of it. We placed our order and even before she walked away, she said she needed a credit card to hold on to. I looked at my partner and we both said OK, even though we both thought it was strange. The patio was not crowded and the other two tables that were seated near us were not asked for a credit card immediately after ordering. This has never happened to either of us. Perhaps in a crowded bar or club they will ask for a credit card and if you would like to open a tab, but they still have the decency to give you your drinks before they ask for payment. We both felt insulted after she walked away but decided to stay until the end of our meal, since we already ordered and offered payment. During the meal the same server filled up a water carafe from the small utility sink located outside on the patio. She refilled our glasses, the only table out of the three, but this was more like she was trying to serve us hose water rather than drinking water. Finally, when we asked for the check at the end of the meal, the same server asked us how we would like to pay. Wasn’t that the whole point of taking our credit card at the beginning? We were the only table of all minorities that evening, was this race related? Was it because we are young, or perhaps the way we were dressed? There is no doubt in my mind that this server (or perhaps the manager, we are not quite sure), was prejudiced and discriminated against us for whatever reason. Everyone we have told the story to since has also said this is discriminatory and urged us to post reviews. I would give negative stars if I could.
