This place is great. A true tavern which is hard to fine these days. Great live music and festive weekend evenings, but just a classic, quiet, old school dive bar during the afternoon. If that is what you seek, visit.

Pretty neat little dive bar. Definitely has an old-school Denver vibe. Not much interior space, which makes it great fun for a date or a couple drinks while you kill time. Not at all pretentious or upscale, looks like a good place for a rip-roaring good time!

Dont expect much when you walk into this place, its definitely old, tiny, and run down and cash only but 100% my favorite place we visited while in Denver! It was recommended by a local bartender for their local hometown vibe and killer music!Did not disappoint! If you enjoy live music and a cold beer this is the place to be!

The best pace ever to serve live Jass in Denver. I saw Louis Armstrong play there and President Clinton play his Sax too. Im 62 been going here since 1972. Is still great. Just buy 1 cocktail angel your watching live Jazz and the Mexican and American food is always good and available late night too. I have had tons of great times here. If you have not been I highly recommend you go have fun watching live Jass.

This place is a classic. Last night was a little different in that the band was not in any way a Jazz or Blues band. It was a good band but felt weird hearing Irish jigs. As always, a good time was had and the crowd was way less teenaged than anywhere else around there.

This was the second stop on my Jack Kerouac Denver bar crawl. Apparently he and Allen Ginsberg hung out here for the music and because there was no cover. If you enjoyed the jazz descriptions in On The Road you need to stop in and experience El Chapultepec. These cats are still blowing their horns. Im a baseball fan but I left a game early to come back to this jazz bar.

I was told it is now the oldest still open for business jazz bar in the world ! Thats a very cool fun fact ! The vibe of the bar solidifies that hands down. On Monday nights David Booker (Just some guy who opened for Robert Cray back in the day) hosts a blues jam starting at 8:30 pm ! I always try and be there along with some other cool cats who love playing the blues for you ! So come on down and let Lloyd and Rachelle get you loosened up for some good ole fashioned best experienced live kinda music that is inspired by raw heart felt emotion !

I really enjoyed it! I didnt stay super long because nothing was really going on and I was by myself, but I liked it. I was in a booth just past the door by the bar. It has that sort of dive bar feel, but it was comfortable. There were 4 other people and the bar tender, who was really nice. This was also at 1.30 on a Sunday afternoon. I really liked all the photos of the jazz musicians. One was Bill Clinton and one of the people that was at the bar was there when Bill Clinton was!I had a smothered burrito and it was really good. Smaller than I expected, but not in a bad way. It came on a Styrofoam plate and reminded me of something made at home (which I like). If anyone knows the Chowhound in Green River, Utah the burrito reminded me of a smothered version of one of their soft tacos (and I have a soft spot for those). I also thought the price was really good. No frills, no BS, plain and simple. And I really like that. So if youre expecting frills or something youd get at another restaurant, youre gonna be disappointed (unless its Chowhound). Also forgot to add, CASH ONLY. They have an ATM!Another thing is Im not from here, so Im unfamiliar with Denver (and really just cities in general) but there is a parking lot like a block away, and various other lots and garages for parking. The lots you had to pay for, but like I said I rolled in at 1.30 and had my spot until 7pm and it cost 6 bucks. I didnt stay nearly that long but I figured that was pretty decent and got me close.
