Fantastic comedy club! Our family had so much fun on a Monday night recently. We laughed so much with alk the comics on pro and amateur night. Our friend Comic Kallan performed and did a great job. Emcees were also amazing as well.

I love this place! Great performers! Hopefully they can stay float during covid. We all need to laugh!

This venue is fantastic. The atmosphere is tight knit and well done usually resonating the laughs to keep them rolling. They, awesomely, bag/lock up phones so people are forced into paying attention and living in the moment during the shows. I love the New Comer shows and always enjoy a headliner. Ill never stop going here!

My husband and I love comedy and one of our favorite things to do together is see shows. This is often a gift we give one another for holidays and birthdays and its always an experience we love. We frequently go to shows at Comedy Works and have never had a bad experience but what happened this past week solidified my loyalty to them. We had tickets to a show Sunday night but my husband was coming down with something and feeling awful, we had been talking about the show all week and were so excited but it just wasnt going to happen. I reached out to Comedy Works late that night explaining what had happened not expecting anything but I figured it was worth a shot; maybe theyd let us come in to a lesser known comedian for one of their $5 shows at no cost or something. I got a call the next day stating that they would refund our tickets and if I had any other questions or concerns I was always welcome to call. The customer service there is bar none! They owed me nothing and did not have to do what they did but I am so grateful they understood it was a total fluke and helped me out. They already had one but have truly created a customer for life that will brag about them any chance I get. I cannot believe a company in this day and age was willing to step up for something relatively small to them but incredibly huge to me. Thank you Mike and Wendy for being totally awesome!

Very generous drinks, great service. Best of all...very solid comedy every time Ive been here. LOVE the no heckling policy....last night a whole front row group was warned then tossed out firmly but profesionally allowing the rest of us to enjoy the artists on stage. High value entertainment, respectful of artists, decent seating and really excellent wait staff.

I was really impressed by the customer service. The workers were ON IT! I dont know how they did it but kudos. It was definitely crammed, like, the dude next to me wasnt even big but he couldnt fit into his seat so we were very cozy, and I couldnt see anything in front of me the whole time because there was a pillar in the way, and a guys head (totally level with mine) so, I saw nothing on stage, but oh well, it happens. I at least heard the whole show! I will say that I wish they were more specific about the two item minimum on the menu. We had no idea and I thoroughly read my ticket and confirmation emails, so we were unprepared to spend money. Otherwise, we had a great night. Its super hot in there with all the bodies. The comedians were hilarious. The exit was chaotic but the show was well done and there were no long wait times in between acts. I like how they dont let people use their phones. Id come back!

Great club, good seats everywhere, awesome setting and stage. My one complaint is that the chairs were a bit small, but Im not a small dude, so take that for what its worth. Note to patrons, you do need to put your phone in a locked pouch (provided by and locked/unlocked by the club staff), which is only fair to the comics, who were all hysterical. Food was pretty standard bar food, got mozzarella sticks, nothing to write home about. Price for food/drinks was fair and average.

This place was unique to say the least. They put your phone in a little magnetically sealed bag (you keep) until the end of the show. That doesnt matter because I get that you should be playing or taking pictures on your phone during. We might have gotten lucky the night we went because the comedians were hilarious and we had a awesome time.

I mean its hard to say I have not had a blast here. Besides how tiny the space is. I loved who gets booked and had always had a great experience with the the staff

The comedy was great! We had a really great experience as it was my boyfriends first time at any comedy club. Service was awesome and timely, prices were to be expected. The only reason i did not give 5 stars is because of my first drink, the “tropical spice?” margarita? something like that name. It was awful and I could not finish it. But as I said, comedy was great and that was the reason for our visit!

Legit comedy club. Lots of talented comedians come through. The stage is in an underground room with a rugged, Colorado-esque, granite backdrop. Something to know going in is that they really pack people into the room, pretty much shoulder to shoulder, but nothing worse than a typical theater seating arrangement. The staff do an excellent job serving food and drinks to that many people. Sometime before the main act the server will come back around - if you want anything else for the remainder of the show, order it then; you may not get another opportunity. Thats just the natural dynamic there.

Always have a good time here. Wendy the owner takes really good care of the place. Only complaint is that not every seat in the place is great. I would definitely recommend getting their early if you have a group of 3+.

We recently took our newly turned 21 year old granddaughter while she was visiting us in evergreen. The comedians were all great! They didn’t single anybody out in the crowd, monitored crowd hecklers and were all a great dose of laughter. The wait staff was friendly, prompt and overall a great experience

Went there for the first time to see Brad Williams headline. The place is easy to find. Abundant paid parking., They have validated parking garage right next to it. Separate gender bathrooms- clean. The stage setting and seating is good. Overall, friendly staff and good names headlining.

Staff is super friendly. Great vibes. Maybe grab food before you get here, but other than that it was awesome.

Funny? Yes. Nice space? Only if you enjoy feeling like you are in economy class in a small airplane. The menu? Revolting. And no tables? If you choose to eat the food, you hold it in your lap? And, the two drink or food item minimum? No thanks. I will get my humour elsewhere.

Great show. Be prepared to have your phone locked in a case for the show. The seating was a bit cramped together but overall a great venue!

Im handicapped and they were very accommodating. The opening comedian was fantastic! Enjoyed our whole evening! Food and service was good also.

Woohoo, we had a great time watching all of the comics. The headliner was Josh Blue and we were not disappointed he was hilarious. The server was fantastic and the drinks and dessert were very delicious! We will be back to Comedy Works Downtown again!

Saw th finals of a competition they had for amateurs and was very impressed. Came to the wrong venue after trying to see the Halloween roast but was not disappointed when I stayed despite being in the dark of as to what I was watching.Everyone killed and they had a past champion of the contest as a headliner, great show cool venue.Waitstaff did super well for the volume and quiet service needed for this style venue.

Compared to other comedy clubs, this place is a dump. Instead of providing a quality atmosphere and good food, this place has strict rules like 2 drink minimums and crams everyone into tiny seats. It’s also extremely loud and promotes audience noise and disruption despite locking down phones. We were told doors opened at 9, and were left waiting in the cold for 30 min before we got in and then waited another 30 min to be seated once in side. Overall, the comedy was average, but the entire experience was severely overpriced. Would definitely not recommend.

Crowded, super tight seating! Beyond that I have seen some excellent comedians here. Great shows and friendly staff.

This was such a cool place to see comedy. It was only $14 to get in but there was a 2 drink MINIMUM! Not a big deal at all but I dont like to be told how many drinks I must have, probably drank less that I normally would have.

I was SUPER impressed with the ease of seating and being served our drinks and food. It was fast and smooth! It seemed like our drinks came out 2 minutes after we place our order. You dont see this often and I can tell some effort has been made to streamline this... Not an easy thing to do at a comedy club. Bravo!!Oh... And I was entertained by the comedians!One annoyance with not getting drinks or food fast enough will ruin the whole evening, however this was not the case! Our server, Max, was phenomenal!

Comedy Works! Its legendary! If you love comedy you must see a show here. It can get a bit cramped when sold out but its part of the experience Id say.

Just an overall great experience. All 3 comedians were on point. The wait staff was excellent, they served drinks in silence...well done.

Great comics but they pack so many people in at this location it is fairly uncomfortable. Greenwood village much nicer but if your downtown and looking for a laugh its still a solid place to go to. Prices flux between good to a bit high for what you get but so be it.

Just saw Bobby Lee last night and he brought the house down. Dudes a maniac! Comedy works is awesome

The Downtown location is a small space and can feel a bit claustrophobic. If that doesnt bother you, its a great place to see live comedy. We saw Sklar Brothers, and we had an entertaining evening.

Staff is amazing, servers are fast and accurate. The space is quirky but serves its purpose. The only thing stopping me from 5 stars are the wedding banquet quality seating. They cram you in tight to fit as many people as possible, with comfort really being the last thought.Other than the seating I would give this place 5 stars.

The staff here is completely unprofessional and is definitely in some sort of money scheme.Require a 2 drink minimum to then claim you’re too intoxicated to stay, even though you’re simply laughing at the comedian, no more or less than any other patron.They will then tell you to leave with no chance of refund. To avoid having to dispute charges with your bank, save yourself the time and just go to Voodoo or somewhere worth your money and time.

I moved here from New York City where I went to comedy cellar and comic strip live often. I just assumed nothing here would be as good. And wow! So much talent. Last year I saw the Naughty Or Nice and it was to die funny. Please bring that back! New talent noght was definitely cringy but who wouldn’t expect that. Overall I love this place and I’ll be back a lot.

Was having a fun time at the comedy show and then the manager came up to my friend and asked us to step outside. He then rudely told us to leave and not come back. I don’t understand why. We were simply laughing at the jokes and drinking the drinks they try to POUR down your throat. I then asked for a card to contact the general manager and the shift manager pointed to the door and had security follow us out. The security guard even commented and said that he felt as though we were not in the wrong. I will never be returning to this comedy club.

Ive never had a bad time here. Last time we went we got front row and werent like waiting at the front of the line or anything. Seen a lot of a-list comedians here. The food is pretty good. The fries are great. Tip the staff.

Show was great, but venue has a couple issues- charged a surprise $7 processing few above the listed ticket price- seats were pretty uncomfortable- they lock your phones up. obviously not everyone can handle having a phone during a performance, but treating everyone like a child is a poor solution

The venue is smaller but theres still elbow room. No tables. Wait staff is exceptionally efficient. I ordered two glasses of wine and they were both filled to the rim. Could use better ventilation in the underground room. What I loved the most: no phones allowed.

Went to see michelle and loved it! Got there early, and we were placed somewhere where we couldnt see the stage well:/ but good news! My boyfriend asked if we could move back a row (since it was higher up there), and they let us! So if you get there early and arent happy with your seat, feel free to ask!

Great time every time! I have gone here on several occasions and even when I didn’t know the comic, it was always a good show. I would recommend paying extra for the first 4-5 rows because it is a much more engaging experience. Can’t wait to go back!

Awesome Club!, Awesome Acts! They really take of you here! i bought tickets for a comic who ended up canceling and they quickly refunded and gave me free ticks to another show. Love this place!

One of the best comedy venues there is! This place is small, cool and underground. Catch some big names here or come for Tuesday beginner night. Its always a ton of fun. Two item minimum on the order but come on its worth it. If you havent been, I would certainly recommend it

This place is legit! Ive never seen a bad show here. The only thing I dont love is the two item minimum for food and drinks.

The location in DTC has a better seating arrangement but besides that this location is great. The trade-off for having a more tightly packed seating is it felt more intimate and made the environment perfect for laughs. The staff was pretty awesome as well and very friendly. Its almost as if they respect that you spent money to be there and want you to enjoy yourself.

Fun and I had underestimated the fun-ness of the environment. I would go again

Great place to see live comedy. Im not the biggest fan of the seats. They are a bit hard, but I suppose it serves a purpose because good comedy should make you a little uncomfortable. So it works. And Ian Bagg was awesome. Definitely going to check him out again.

Awesome place to see high quality comedy acts, ranging from national to local talent. Great date night. Get there early as people do line up well ahead of the show and that will dictate where your seats are.I give it 4 because I wish they had more staff or security paying attention to people talking or being too loud, closer to the back. I’ve been stuck in those rows with chemically inconvenienced people right behind us and it really detracted from the experience but security wasn’t paying attention.Overall - great acts, good strong drinks, nice environment. Recommend!

Atmosphere is a little cramped or intimate depending on how you look at it, but comedians and service are the best

I love going here! Not too expensive and you can get a good seat at the same price by just coming early since its first come first served. I like the more initiate comedy setting. And I enjoy being about to eat snacks (my favorite is soft pretzels and French fries) while enjoying good comedy.

Small black box venue with great artists. Good bars across the street to pop into after a show!

What is there to say? This is the best place for a night out. Service is top notch. If you havent been there yet then stop messing around and buy tickets now.

One of the best comedy venues in Denver metro area. Decent drinks and food, seating is easy to navigate, and there is good visibility of the stage no matter where you sit. It has been a tad stuffy at times, but the last time I was there it was very reasonable for being a totally packed house. Cant go wrong here as there is plenty to do before and after being in down town Denver.

We did not find especially funny the topic of the podcast. From the seats that we were assigned could hardly see the speaking persons, the waiters were passing back and forth- had to watch my feet. I would have loved to be advised about the necessity of consuming at least two items in advance.

Comedy works is the classic comdey spot. Underground. The room is big but they pack it pretty tight. Food and drink is served as the show goes on. Obviously a little more expensive menu, but you are paying the premium to be at the spot.

Sadly, we had to leave the Jim Norton show before it began, as my husband became ill.I greatly appreciate how kind and helpful the staff were, during that time. Youre a kind person, Eddie.Hopefully, Jim will be back, soon!

So dont order food. #1 its terrible. If you like microwave dorm food...this is your place. #2...NO TABLES! just hold that artichoke dip in your lap

Went here on a date with the hubs, it was super crowded, they definitely pack ya in there and you have to buy a few drinks per person. The hubs ordered a double neat scotch and that was the heaviest pour from a bartender ever. Will definitely be coming back

This was my first time at a comedy club.I was expecting tables and chairs and a little bit of personal space.We were packed in there really tight and it was a little uncomfortable. The show was pretty good though. We had fun.

Although this may be coming from a Midwesterner, whom doesnt get much live comedic entertainment, we couldnt get enough of the Comedy Works Vibe! I enjoyed the entertainment, however, I was particularly impressed by the service of the staff. They were quick with getting drinks brought to us and our appetizers were tasty! Also, I loved the mixed drinks that were made for us! You will not be disappointed, as we were satisfied by every aspect of our night out at Comedy Works!

I love the acts they bring here. Servers are always nice. There is a 2 item minimum though so come prepared to pay more than just your ticket price, $8 is the minimum extra youll pay for two of their cheapest items. Worth it to keep them going, just annoying.

This is a review on the venue, service and staff were excellent. But is it just me or does the comedy venue scene need an overhaul of their food and drink. Pretty confident the waitress bartended the drinks using sugar mixes and well alcohol, and I wouldnt be surprised if the waitress was cooking the food. It wouldnt bother me if I wasnt obligated to buy two menu items which ultimately I dont mind if youre going to feed me something consumable. In todays foodie culture and craft cocktail scene I would expect more in a downtown location. Simply put I expect more for the cost of your menu items.

I go here almost every year for my birthday. I love a good laugh. Ive always had my best nights under this roof. A definite must if you are visiting Denver or if you live here and havent been yet.

As with any comedy club, your enjoyment hinges primarily on the comedian. I decided to pass on reviewing that, and review the club instead. The experience was awful. The show started at 9:45 and at 9:30 there was a line down the block and the doors were not yet open. In fact, they didnt open until about 9:45, where they slowly let everyone in to get us into the building through winding lines and down stairs into yet another line where they sat one party at a time. If they were running late I guess I could understand, but the host comedian started performing around 10:00 when they were less than half through seating the audience. The seats are crammed together way to tight and are seriously uncomfortable to sit in for 2 hours. The service is awful, probably most due to the seats being so crammed together that the wait staff cant come through well. I get the two drink minimum, but if you dont seat me before the show, the constant wait staff talking over the performers to take orders is distracting to say the least. It would be fine if it was two quick times during the show, but you can hear it every time the take the order of anyone around you. And like k mentioned, there are a lot of people around you.In short, I wont go back, and I recommend you find another club too.

The comedians are amazing!We’ve been so many times. But you can’t laugh out loud anymore or be organic here without being told to be quiet.....weird since it’s Comedy!!!The seats are so small you can’t move!We will never go here again! Plus you have to wait in a never ending line for hrs in the basement!!!But on the other hand, Denver Improv has always been so much fun! That’s where we usually go for Comedy!No one telling you to stop laughing. I honestly have no idea how Comedy Works is still in business! Thank goodness for Denver Improv!!!

The comedians were wonderful. Unfortunately, the staff needs some heavy training in alcohol assessment and evaluations.Myself and 3 friends stayed inside the comedy club for 30 minutes prior to the show talking with their on-staff officer and ordering drinks from their bartender.We then went downstairs as we were instructed, to enjoy the show. They informed 2 of our 4 that they cannot drink as they appear intoxicated, even though they have a required 2 drink minimum.Mid-way through the show, 1 friend took a sip of a drink that only contained Red Bull. The staff felt it was neccesary to then pull our friend from her seat and instruct her she is being removed, without refund.They refused a refund for any of us after we purchased tickets and drinks from their bartender.People can become irrational and abbrasive when they drink, however this was not thr situation. We all were simply watching the show and enjoying the laughs, all within normal levels, by far not a loud or rowdy group.I dont understand how an establishment can continue to serve drinks to their patrons, same patrons converse with their on-staff officer for at least half an hour, require a 2 drink minimum, to then force you to leave because you have been drinking.The staff needs some serious training when it comes to behavioral assessments and should look into utilizing the police force they contract in to train them.Having your staff harrass your paying patrons that were supposedly sober enough to enter the comedy show, but not sober enough 20 mintues in, shows such a lack of professionalism and understanding of how to properly assess behavior and those under the influence.As a former park ranger and one who worked directly with law enforcement, I am ashamed in the lack of professionalism with this staff and their biased judgement.I suggest attending another local comedy club such as Voo Doo to ensure you have a wonderful time and arent roped into the comedy works crooked system.

Like most cliche sayings, Im truly not one to post reviews. And it goes without saying that people tend to write reviews when its a negative experience so take it with a grain of salt, however, after how I was treated last evening at the Dave Chappelle show, I need other possible patrons to be aware. All the other negative reviews about maltreatment is a VERY real thing. Last evening, I wasnt feeling so well and knew I was going to be sick so to be a decent human and not make an exorcist scene, I went to the bathroom to take care of myself. No mess, it was in the toilet, I flushed it, no harm, no foul. Guess youre not allowed to do that. Upon washing my hands and leaving the restroom, one of the staff members approached me and said, Mam, we cannot let you back into the club. And you can imagine I was startled and inquired why. His response: We were told you were throwing up in the bathroom so we cannot let you back into the club. After some tradings of words of how dehumanizing and unfair this treatment was, I continued to ask if I could at least have my coat and then at the very least stay in the building until the show was over so my friend could still enjoy it and its December so its cold outside. His response, No. You must leave the premises entirely. Like what if it was negative something outside?! Im a 4 9 94 lbs small human for gods sake. Youre really going to throw me out?! Its one thing that I can no longer see the show that I paid to see but now Im being thrown out to the cold? What the actual hell?! Im not necessarily telling anyone not to go to this comedy club because the talent that passes through here is great. But be warned and err on the side of caution of your actions. Because what you think is innocent or doing the right thing is completely up to the judgment of the staff and theyre less than forgiving and like to play God. I hope no one else continues to be mistreated as I have and so many others have. Disappointed, so very disappointed.

What an amazing venue! You take some stairs down to the space. You have a server who checks on your regularly to get you drinks. Its very easy to see the comedians even from the back, but I believe the earlier you are the better seats you get! hint hint. I got in trouble a few times for talking, but Im glad they enforce the no table talk rule. I cant wait to go back, it was an amazing value for the dollar. I found parking at the Writer Square Garage.

Saw Brad Williams Friday night. He was AMAZING! Venue was fun. We had good seats and the sound was clear. The staff was friendly and professional. The server we had was attentive. There was a group of 8 in front of us that some of the men were ordering quite a few drinks(thankfully their dates were driving them home) The server asked us to let her know if they were to get loud, that she would make sure they did not bother us. So impressed with the place. It was our first time there, we will definitely go back.

The chairs were very small, uncomfortable and crammed together. There is no table, just a very small arm rest that doubles as a table. The only place to put your coat is on the back of your chair but there are menus on all the chair backs so the people behind you would have to lift up your coat to get to the menu. Service was great but I was very uncomfortable because of the tight space and set-up.

Attended a show on 10/19/2019. My gf and I had just received our drink at the start of the main act. Moments into the main act, we decided the comedy wasnt for us and we proceeded to leave. We asked the management staff if they would refund us for our drinks. The manager rudely denied the request and laughed in our faces. Not a venue I will attend again.
