What more can I say that hasn’t been said by others, this place is one of the jewels of South Florida. Been coming to Morikami for years and each visit has always been wonderful. Even during these difficult times, they’ve organized everything in a way to make visitors feel safe. I would highly recommend visiting here if you’re a tourist and for those that are local and visit often, I highly recommend becoming a member as a show of support. You won’t regret your visit!

Nice place. With good walking . Nice garden.I imagined it more peaceful, at least for me it wasn’t. The house with the courtyard was closed for renovations. Drove from Miami (1 hour) to see it. For me it wasn’t worth the drive. Maybe a nice place for locals to visit and enjoy.

I moved here from Maine in 1999. Today was my Very First Visit.Impeccably Maintained. Absolute Serenity and Calmness abound. I wished that I had not been so busy all these years to take a few hours and visit. But now that I have been here, I have made a commitment to myself to visit more often.Like many, I thought the admission price of $15 was a bit much, just to see a garden, However... The multiple styles, paths and bridges, all unique, transition from one to Another, Flawlessly. And after visiting, I am100% satisfied with the admission and Encourage Everyone to who can, to visit this beautiful area that has been preserved. For people with mobility concerns, the paths are such that Wheelchairs, Personal mobility scooters, strollers and the like have total access to much of the park with very few exceptions. This is a must see venture for Residents and Visitors. For those beginning their journeys into to Philosophy of Buddhism, Those in Twelve Step Programs, This is a Golden Opportunity to Connect with Spirit and Nature, and for those Redefining their Higher Power.Thank you to ALL The Staff, Gardeners and Caretakers who made this First Visit So Special.️

Wonderful place to experience some japanese culture. They provide a pamphlet of what they provide and some history along the way as you explore. A very beautiful scenic place.COVID: Everyone must wear a mask while walking and should maintain a proper social distance. In the entrance, the staff will provide you some information as to what is available to the public. They were very organize as to how everything should be good. Such a tranquil and hidden jewel of Florida to visit. Worth absolutely every cent of admission costs and you feel like youre transported to a different realm almost. Its a wonderful place to escape the chaotic realities of the world, envelope yourself within a small glimpse in the beauty of Asian culture and there are multiple park benches to stop and embrace the ambience of solitude. Its not the largest garden but upon visiting, take your time on observing the zen of everything.

The Morikami Museum and Japanese gardens is a great place for a quiet walk among nature. Not only is this a beautifully manicured park but it is a very peaceful experience, a great place to bring small children, and a perfect activity for a beautiful day.I highly recommend the restaurant at the entrance. The highlight of the Morikami gardens is the bonsai collection, in my opinion. There are very old bonsais that have been meticulously cared for, and you cannot help but want to take this up as a hobby of your own.Members can enjoy several benefits that the general public has to pay for such as bonsai classes, restaurant discounts, and exclusive access to members areas.️ During the pandemic temperature checks and masks are obligatory.️ The museum is currently being remodeled and is thus closed to visitors.

Hidden gem in a busy city that you wouldn’t expect to see! Visited the gardens alongside my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday and had an amazing time. The scenery was beautiful and the grounds are well kept. It was a nice escape from the everyday world. It was a bummer that the museum was closed but no worries. The scenery and food made up for it. The cafe has a variety of tasty treats the the serves are very nice and attentive. They had an interactive display and that was fun! Keep in mind I visited back in August of 2019 before corona. Please visit once they are back open! for sure helped clear my mind and gave me a refresh!

We absolutely love working at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Garden! The museum hosts different exhibitions of Japanese art and artifacts (that they’ve acquired from collectors and institutions); it’s educational and just steps away from a beautiful world of gardens. Outdoor beauty. Great place to walk around on a date. Pretty lakes with nice bridges to stand on and take in the surroundings. Turtles a plenty in the lakes too - you can buy feed to entertain yourself feeding the little guys. Its really cute. All kinds of wildlife flitting by as you take a leisurely stroll along the paths. Its not super stimulating but it is just a really cool ambiance to relax on a walk with someone you like. Plenty of wood benches to relax on. And when you get hungry or its gotten too hot and you need to cool down, go back to the welcome center and go buy some ice cream or a beer. I recommend the mochi. :)

We loved this place. The views are stunning full of gardens and trees. I went with my family and friends including 4 toddlers. One suggestion for management is that they should tell people there is a big gator living in the lake. The first thing you see when you enter the premises is a gorgeous lake, and kids just went running towards it. No one told us to be extra careful with the little ones as it could be very dangerous. We saw the gator swimming in the lake as soon as we got to the lake. Letting families know could avoid a tragedy. There are signs but not visible enough. There should be a sign as soon as you get to the lake.

Keep in mind there is a rather long walk for younger kids but the house on the left gives much opportunity for learning in both sides. As you walk, there’s beautiful areas to sit pretty much everywhere, mostly in the shade. You can buy fish food to feed the many fish you’ll come across in the extensive(yet green and kinda gross mossy) water. Turtles and iguanas and even the occasion alligator can be seen in abundance. Very beautiful and varied scenery, with enough nooks, crannies, and multiple pathways that you can avoid feeling crowded. This is where my aunt recovered from cancer and one can see why, it is very peaceful, and a diverse landscape of trees, shrubbery, water life, stones, Zen gardens and vantage points make for a lovely activity alone or with others. The museum exhibit about Japanese settlement in Florida was totally new information to me, and there was also helpful info about certain gardens, without an overbearing amount of education about the plants, so that visitors can enjoy the experience for what it is without over-analyzing it.

Definitely bring comfortable shoes to walk around! The garden itself contains lush, green foliage and very neatly curated paths. There is a large lake in the center and a little intimate waterfall nearby. There are benches for short rests and the staff do provide wheelchairs for the disabled and elderly to enjoy the garden. My favorite parts have to be the huge koi fishes and turtles that reside in the lake. Lovely place for a walk! It takes anywhere from 30 min to 1.5 hours to walk around the property depending how much time you spend in each garden. It’s organized in such a way that you begin in the early gardens, dating back to the 9th century, and finish in the modern gardens of today. There is plenty of shade, so although we went when it was very hot, it was doable. Just bring plenty of water!Staff is friendly and do all they can to keep you safe (masks must be worn inside, social distancing when entering, etc.). There is also a cafe and gift shop, although the galleries were closed when we visited due to COVID. A must see if in the area!
