I absolutely love this shop. It is where I will be getting all of my tattoos done from now on. Krystal, the owner, is friendly, professional, and helpful. I feel very comfortable in her shop. I talked with her about what I wanted, sent a few inspiration examples, and she came up with an amazing design that Im very happy with. She works quickly and you get high quality art. We have a couple more sessions to finish up this piece on my upper arm and Im looking forward to getting more from her. Also, there is some great local art on display for purchase, including jewelry, enamel pins, paintings, etc etc and its all right up my alley! Definitely recommend!!

I currently have 2 tattoos and I have gotten them both from here, although the artist who did my first one is no longer working here, Crystal did my most recent one last week. She did an excellent job with my tattoo, which was a sigil designed to have a woodcut-print/rough-edged style to it, and she got it down perfectly, exactly as I had pictured it. I will definitely continue coming back for my future work. As far as the atmosphere goes, theyre currently about to remodel, so Im excited to see what the place will look like when I return.

I have gotten two tattoos from Krystal at Witching Hour so far and I have had an excellent experience both times. My tattoos are very detailed and on the larger side and I cant say enough about how great a job that Krystal did. Her input and expertise in creating both tattoos far exceeded what I could imagine and her color/shading skills are the bomb! I look forward to many more tattoos from Krystal in the future. I have had 2 tattoos started with witching hour ( line work thus far but have to let that heal first) and I can say they are an amazing group of artists. They take the time to listen and adjust designs for a better result, honestly that is appreciated. Its a very clean shop, and i love the fact it feels so welcoming when you first enter. Krystal took great care in explaining what to expect and how to treat my tattoos ( they are on my head so kinda a complicated place) and had no problem letting me have a breather when I needed them and didnt shame me for needing them. I can say I have had artists in the past act as if I was being a wuss for needing a break. Deffinitly try some of their after care ointment, the stuff is amazing and I really feel like it accelerated the healing process.

I got the first part of my cattoo sleeve done a little over a month ago. The color is fantastic. It was done quickly and was reasonably priced. I can’t wait to go back to get more done. Highly recommend this shop and all their talented artists.

Shop called me on my way to my appointment to tell me I could not pay by credit card and must withdraw hundreds of dollars of cash to pay with. Owner was not open to problem-solving the issue or finding a means of escrow. They wanted cash for whatever undisclosed reason even though they advertise taking credit cards. Shady situation...shop owner later mischaracterized the facts further in her response to this review.

Got a piercing today by Mike. Great experience. He was extremely thorough on how to clean it and made me feel like family. Used only sterilized and new equipment.Talked me through it step by step. After I was done my sister in law decided to get one as well. Price was very reasonable. Mike is a VERY PROFESSIONAL and talented artist. Just got a tattoo from Mike and I am thrilled! Mike was great. He worked with me over the course of a couple of weeks to plan my design and make sure it was perfect. He was incredibly professional and thorough, and the cost was totally reasonable. Nice, clean shop, with a great staff who were warm and helpful. Definitely recommend!

My experiences have always been great here at Shaded Soul. I have a full arm sleeve and a half arm sleeve that connects to a chest piece all done by Mike. Having plenty of other tattoos done in the past by other shops, I have to admit that Shaded Soul continues to be my absolute best experience. They make you feel very welcome. They are also an extremely clean place, and that is a VERY IMPORTANT EXPECTATION for me. Tattoo seats and work stations are wiped down in your presence so you can watch them set up. The needle is shown to you so that you can actually see him tearing it out of packaging. The grips are also shown to you with the expiration date before removing the packaging from around them. If you understand tattoo safety then you understand how important that is...no secrets at Shaded Soul! On a more personal note while you are getting the tattoo, Mike is filled with humor and conversation. On the contrary, if youre one of the quiet types, he will ask you what music you enjoy and play it for you to keep you in a calm mood. Lastly, we all know tattoos can be painful; however, Mike really tries to use light pressure and swipe gently to ease the pain. That is important when the tattoo needle itself gets pretty painful at times. I plan on returning soon!

This is an excellent shop with excellent artists. Krystal listened carefully to my ideas and put them together into a beautiful tattoo to memorialize my dog (the tulip poplar was my pups favorite flower to smell). She made sure I was happy with the design and chose placement to complement my body. She worked quickly and was not stymied by me being twitchy.

Came in looking for a basic septum ring to replace my old one, and they managed to hook me up with exactly what I needed. Very professional and laidback, highly recommended!

I just went there yesterday an got the experience of a life time , this was my first time ever getting a tattoo but Mike made me feel like I had sat in his chair before. Hes extremely laid back and mad jokes to make me feel comfortable. This has only been day with it but my love lotus flower looks amazing, I cant wait to go back:)

Tom Johnson is a hidden gem in Atlanta tattooing! His artistic vision along with his professionalism make him a true rarity in the tattoo world. I’ve been getting tattooed for 20 years, and Tom is THE FIRST tattoer that shows up to an appointment on time! His prices are fair, his shop is clean and he treats his clients like family! What more could you ask from an artist? I will only go to Tom for my tattoo needs, and suggest you do as well!

I visited the shop to ask questions about my future tattoo. My Idea was blurry, and I couldnt imagine it being made into a tattoo. The owner, Mike, did what I thought was impossible! He took my ideas down and created a masterpiece with ease. Glad I stopped here to discuss my ideas. I paid a small portion as a deposit that will also go towards my tattoo when I go in. Love how that works - great business idea! So, I wasnt just paying for the drawing, but it will come out of my tattoo cost. Needless to say, now I am extremely excited for my birthday to arrive so I can go in and get Mikes creation of my idea tattooed. Counting down the days.!

I was a walk in to the shop. I had an idea of what I wanted but wasnt very clear on my idea. Lumberjack Tom listened to me and said he would be right back. He came back with a tattoo that had everything I wanted. He listened and he executed perfectly. I let the ARTIST do his job and he rocked it. Very experienced people there. I had a guy look at a new lip piercing because the little gauge or little tiny metal piece kept sinking. He gave me a new one with a decent price and was very friendly!

Called about getting jewelry changed on a piercing. Tom rudely asked what I wanted because they dont do everything. I told him a tragus (part of your ear) piercing. He said we wont do that we dont have the jewelry for it. I have my own brand new jewelry but I couldnt get that out before I was hung up on. I liked their work Ive seen as far as tattoos and had been considering coming to get ink but not after today. Geez.

Mike @ shaded soul is an amazing artist and the only one I will trust to do my tatts. I have followed him over the years to every shop he has worked at and am so happy he now has his own shop! The shop is comfortable, extremely clean, and its awesome that there is total privacy in rooms where the tattoos are done. Ive been to shops where theres people watching others get their tattoos done out in the open, seems pretty awkward lol. They were accommodating, friendly, and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. They are knowledgeable on all things tattoos including aftercare and will give you great advice and suggestions on your custom pieces to make sure you get exactly what you want. I always suggest this shop to all my friends! :) I constantly get compliments on my tatts, Thanks guys!
