I was very impressed. I went for a sale. But was able to view some of the displays. This place is a hidden jewel I have driven by several times. It helps put the history of our (the Metro Detroit area) in perspective. A period home giving a window to the past. Hopefully to build a better future by knowing the past.

A small place but with helpful staff that will tell all about the history of Dearborn! Theyre very friendly and will try their best to answer your questions. The gift shop is also amazing to pick up a souvenir or two to even deck out your own home!

Journey back in Dearborns history touring one of the oldest structures in Dearborn. Back when their was Fort Dearborn this structure was used as the arsenal to store ammo and gun powder, in some parts of the building the walls are very thick.

Well of course I like it. Its beautiful historical Building inside and out and every year our paranormal team hosts a paranormal investigation at all three buildings so you get to not only investigate but see all of the history in the side.

I have very fond memories of the historical museum from my childhood and after visiting again recently, those memories are not misplaced. The museum hosts a lot of interesting lectures on a variety of topics related to local history - they bring in experts and theyre oftentimes free. I highly recommend attending one of their events if youre at all interested in local culture.

The Dearborn Historical Museum is an incredible snapshot of Dearborn, Henry Ford, and the 19th and early 20th century. Artifacts, knowledgeable staff, and historical exhibits fill this site. For those with an interest, paranormal investigations are also held here during the year. These are not fabricated, and the results are astounding. I highly recommend this location!

Considering the size of the building you would think there would be a lot more detail on a city which has been around for quite a long time. It is actually a fairly small building with various artifacts of limited interest. Has a reasonably sized parking lot which can fill up quickly do to other events in the area. It is tucked back up off the road down some side streets so its a little difficult to find if you dont know where its at. A lot more information about the city of Dearborn can be found at Greenfield Village now called The Henry Ford.

Drove by the museum 10,000 times. Finally stopped by. Received a tour by Mason. He spent an hour explaining the rich history of Dearborn back to the year 1812. The tour is free so leave a nice donation. It would be nice if the museum was available to everyone for another 200 years. Thanks
