We love visiting this museum! On this visit we saw a planetarium show. It was very well done and showed us what to look for in that specific nights sky. Other highlights were Newcomers Pharmacy and the history of guitars exhibit. Dont miss the nature walk. Its also excellent!

Such a great museum with so many exhibits. There is a cool.guitar exhibit along with a Coca cola and Root family exibit. Large gathering of old antique furniture and paintings, a planetarium, and even a huge sloth. There is even an auditorium for holding special events and an old train car. Very cool for kids of all ages and plenty for the adults as well.

This place is amazing! I love museums, so when I took a recent trip to Daytona coming here was the first thing I wanted to do. This museum is huge and interactive, with features like a planetarium, art, children’s museum, nature garden, and many different exhibits that offer a fun and diverse experience. Three and a half hours flew by and we didn’t even get to view every exhibit! I definitely recommend coming here.

Its huge! Excellent staff, they were very accommodating, kind, generous and their knowledge is impeccable! Highly recommend the Planetarium. Only complaint is that the doorways of some of the exhibits have a bump and it was rather difficult to maneuver my moms wheelchair over them. Not impossible, and she was able to stand briefly so we could move the chair, but for someone that does not have that ability, it would be very challenging. Still. No regrets and we look forward to visiting again!

OUTSTANDING, small arts and science museum! We were delighted with the LIVE planetarium show that told us about Tonights night sky instead of millions of years ago as is Typical. The art is relevant and accessible. The antiques are beautifully displayed and labeled correctly. The guards are calm and helpful. The boardwalk was delightful and shady. Even the store was lovely with bespoke items at reasonable prices. The Childrens Museum could stand alone! What a lovely, enjoyable, affordable respite! An oasis of cool art and Science no matter the weather. They even have a map showing the Actual mastodon bones and a diorama with dinosaurs, snakes, and birds! Hooray for REAL Science!

He was thrilled at all the Coke a Cola stuff. He kept saying when he got home this was the best day of his life no joke. Its little things like this that we dont hear of too much in the world and we need too keep up the little things, maybe one day they will be the reason of greater things.

Some surprising collections, including a sugar mill model from Cuba and two full size railroad cars. Bring earplugs if you’re going to visit the planetarium. It was louder than the loudest IMAX movie. As loud as being out on the ramp at a busy jet airport. We walked out after 15 minutes, but my ears were still ringing 1.5 hours later. Kids loved the bear dollhouse.

We brought our autistic son to see the planetarium. He loves the moon and stars! We were told we had to leave because he was enjoying himself too much (by verbally expressing his excitement at what he was seeing)It’s sad that places such as this don’t care to accommodate kids like him and only seem to care about other people being inconvenienced(which no one else seemed to mind his excitement other than the employee doing the presentation)The ladies up front were nice and tried to give us free tickets to return but we declined. We will never go back and be put through such embarrassment!

As shocked at the good reviews as I was by the visit. SMELLS very dusty, old and some rooms smell like chemicals. At least 4 childrens projects did not work. The WORST was the planetarium show - had to be from the 50s and Im not exaggerating. About daylight and night and about Christmas time and how people decorate trees etc. We walked out after 20 of the 40 minutes. It was torture, no kidding! I paid $12.99 for that?! The Upside Down House and Ripleys are the place to go for kids.

Disclaimer: I mostly have negative comments, but I really did love the museum overall...The Planetarium was pretty terrible. The gift shop is understocked and has virtually nothing related to the museum but for a couple of badly photographed items on bookmarks.Otherwise, there is a lot to see and I loved seeing the wide range of art. Too bad I saw the gift shop last because I dont have much to say. Also, just tried the nature trail right outside of the museum. It is beautiful but littered with trash anddebris from repairs, and to top that off is half closed for which we found a sign saying so only after starting the trail halfway. It was also really under-maintained and possibly dangerous. Kinda weird after just shelling out about a hundred dollars.

There is even a nature trail. The admission price is very reasonable, and the shows at the planetarium are just $5 more. There is a lot to see for not much money, so I really liked it. Children’s museum needs monitoring. This is a lovely museum, beautifully pieced together and offers nice open spacing for viewing. I appreciated all of the exhibits, and my children especially loved the kids area. The only issue I take with the children’s part of the museum is that it is severely lacking in staff to oversee all of the displays. One of the more popular attractions in the kids area is the “Daytona Expressway” which entails remote control cars that need to be charged. We visited on 7/17/18 and there happened to be a youth day camp present, which is great; I’m very happy for there to be other children playing and socializing. One of the camp instructors was helping her campers with this expressway exhibit; there were four stations, each with a remote and a corresponding car. With four stations one would expect the line to move fairly quickly, so that everyone gets a turn. Unfortunately, it was not the case in this situation. The instructor seemed completely oblivious to the fact that other children outside of her camp wanted to try this exhibit, to the point that after waiting 20 MINUTES I asked her where exactly the line starts and how many turns each child gets. She really had no answer as she was obviously unaware of the fact that her camp was monopolizing the exhibit. They had been playing it for so long that they had drained the batteries in all 4 cars, leaving them dead and unable to be used until recharged. In this case, I feel that museum supervision could have prevented this from happening, and that employee management of such a highly desired area would ensure that all visitors to the museum leave with a well-rounded and pleasant experience. In my hometown, we have a children’s museum that has an employee in each area; the purpose of such a job is to keep toys in their correct area and to ensure that all children are sharing and taking turns. It seems like a rather basic concept but, my experience today at the MOAS is a clear example as to why constant monitoring is necessary in these areas.Adults and young people alike, enjoy your next visit here if you can, it is a lovely museum. I might suggest flagging down the help of museum staff though if your visit in the children’s wing starts to resemble what I encountered with my family today.

I have been bringing my son since he was 3, he is now 13. The updated look is nice, but the number of exhibits seem to have gotten smaller. Also, the Childrens Museum needs serious work and updating. We havent come here in about 2.5 years. We came hoping there was an updated Childrens Museum, with new activities. Unfortunately, the Childrens Museum hasnt changed significantly in the last 10 years. Many of the exhibits and activities dont work, like the Raceway. If you want to increase the number of patrons coming to the Museum, prices should be lowered and definitely work to improve the Childrens area. I also dont see why an additional fee is charged for admission to the newer Art Museum.

I can’t imagine you’ll encounter crowds, unless you visit during a major event or on school days if they have large amounts of students visiting. It’s tucked away but easy to get to, just a little bit off of International Speedway Blvd.Well worth a visit if you’re in the Daytona Beach area.

The area was dirty, almost all the interactive centers worked, then some didnt. The part where you can build and race cars was a HUGE let down. They only had two working cars and then they hardly even worked. An the person you could talk to about the area, got up, left and never came back. I took my granddaughter here just last week. I spent 20.00 to get us into the museum. We really were only interested in the Childrens Museum since she is seven. I took her two years ago and did not have a very good experience but thought maybe they had revamped the Childrens area. I was wrong. This is a very hands-on science museum with GEs name all over it. What a shame. Many things are broken ... or missing parts to make them work .... etc. Take my 20.00 and that of the other 15 kids I saw and put it to good use. Kids need a place like this but for the cost it is a total fail. Build a slot car - sure. Run it on the track - nope. Use an erector set? No tools and missing connecting parts. Daytona Beach and this museum are failing the children who attend. Two stars are strictly for the the Laser Planetarium show (20 minutes on Orions Belt) that we did not even want to go to but it was included in admission. I was trying to find a bright moment in the day.

Im giving this place 5 stars because of their Free First Tuesdays for Volusia county residents every month. If I were to have to pay the full price I wouldnt be rating it at all, having never been able to afford it. I believe the current price is $13 per adult, so for my family of 5 that would be $65. Out of the question for us for the 3 or 4 hours at most there. The trails at the museum are absolutely beautiful, and a great place for a picnic. We are going today for free Tuesday, and excited to see for the first time the new Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art. Just read they have a new cafe there. Ive always though it could use one! Hope its nice! Love the trails, and the trains at the museum the most. My daughter loves the teddy collection. Mom loves the old pharmacy. Youngest son loves the Childrens museum. Everyone loves the giant sloth. We always enjoy the little movies they show. The last time we were there it I remember it was about Audubon. I would like if they would include even more local history going farther back before colonization. I would also like if they would lower their price of admission, (without getting rid of free Tuesday please though! Love free Tuesday
