This place is awesome. Boardwalks get you up close with nature at certain times. Wish it was better maintained and the water levels seem rather low but still love the peacefulness and beauty of it though.

Used to be a great place to see birds such as swans, ducks, herons, etc. Now its cool to see giant lily pads, but other than that its overgrown with green pond scum. Youll be lucky to actually see the water. The only wildlife youre likely to see are frogs and maybe a couple turtles.

Not much to this place but it was very pretty, liked the overlook tower.

Its a very clean, quiet, peaceful, relaxing and absolutely beautiful place! There are several benches and an area with picnic tables so theres plenty of places to sit, relax and enjoy the gorgeous surrounding scenery. There is also a wheelchair accessible tower that you can go up and get a better view of the lake and all the amazing creatures living in and around the lake. Very well kept up and taken care of also.

Very relaxing walk....should have went earlier in the day when more wildlife might have been out. Watched a water snake for a while. We will go back. Very nice place for a picnic too.

I have always loved this place, but it is definitely not what it used to be. Things are run down and not taken care of. Very sad to see.

Nice place for a good weather walk

Beautiful every season, but especially during late summer during the lotus bloom. There has been some bad storm damage to some parts of boardwalk - hopefully it gets fixed soon so people can continue to enjoy this beautiful place

I like going here. Great outdoor workaround with lookout tower. Reason for the stars is they dont have very good upkeep of walk around and when you email them to let them know they are asses.

No wildlife in view except for geese overhead. Blaming that on the February weather! I will definitely revisit in warmer weather.

Gorgeous scenes. I walk on the board walk nearly everyday in the morning and seeing the swans, ducks and eagles is just amazing! The eagle watch tower is most recommended :)

Absolutely mesmerizing out here the view is just gorgeous

An oasis from Danville, in Danville! Bring a picnic lunch and sit under the pavilion then walk down the paved sidewalk to the tower. See the lake from the marsh or climb the tower for a more broad view. Take a short and easy stroll on the boardwalk through the Lilly pads and cat tails. Plenty of benches to stop and sit quietly, you may very well spot turtles, fish, and birds. There is a bald eagle seen flying about! My only complaint is that the walk itself is in disrepair.

Beautiful, peaceful wetlands area. The boardwalk is starting to fall into disrepair (July 2019 visit), but still usable.

There is a ton of garbage in the woods surrounding this marsh. I would have also like to have seen info about why or hiw the park originated and what the lookiuts were for.

This is a very small, unique park. It consists of only a parking lot, pavilion, tower, and a boardwalk. The tower is a 3-story, wooden structure that provides a good view of the area. The boardwalk is a very neat attraction that walks you out over the swampy ground and water. Its a good place to see fish and birds. The only complaint that I have is that the boardwalk is in need of repair.

What a beautiful place to take a walk and see the yellow lily pads as far as your eyes can see. Climb the tower to even see more. We saw a couple of herons while we were there.

Heron County Park is a unique land and water conservation area.

Love the boardwalk out into the water.

Can be very peaceful and quiet. Also (if lucky) can view wildlife, Ive seen Red Tailed Hawks and Bald Eagles.

The walk way was damaged by a storm and no attention had been given to it. Not even taped off and clearly it was a hazard.

Hopefully somebody is trying to raise the money to fix the boardwalk, but it is a very nice park, well laid out and very nice to see the herons nesting and flying around

Im pretty sure this is the same thing as the Wetland Boardwalk. But it would make sense that there would be a heroin County Park in Danville

Leapin Lilypads

Great little park with lots of bird watching opportunities. Nice floating dock surrounds the wetlands to offer viewing. Also a tower to view from on high.

Very quiet but the wildlife is in motion so you are looking all around. Good job on this one!
