Definitely the most difficult hike ive been on around Chattanooga. And the hike back down is just as hard. Very steep. Lots of fun though.

Definitely quite steep and quite slippery, even in driest of conditions! I wouldnt bring elderly or young children here. There are no markers marking the trail, no railing, youre Definitely on your own up here! One of the most breathtaking views from the top of the mountain! Panoramic views, all the way around. 1000000% worth the hike. Just remember be very safe. VERY ROCKY, EXTREMELY strenuous! You will not regret this hike, even for a minute!

My first time here from Oklahoma! I was abit confused on how to find the Trailhead. I parked below the State Police building and walked through the woods thinking that was it then went up the hill and finally found the parking area and Trailhead. The hike up was very challenging!!! The views at the top was well worth it though ️

Whoever rated this hiking trail at moderate is very wrong. Its more on the difficult end meaning its mostly straight up and no joke. The views are gorgeous and well worth the effort up but wasnt prepared for it and many trails that split all come back together usually. Just follow the most used trail and you will be fine. 4 stars because needs more markers on trails to find your way, google maps literally wont get you there but find the church with the very steep driveway and its past the church to your left and left of the fellowship hall up above the church.

Nice, well maintained trail. Very steep so it was definitely a challenge. Took me a little over two hours, but I went well past the grave site and took a long snack break. You can park right at the trail head. Just turn at the Nazarene church then continue past the church and up to the left. There are some great views up at the top, only downside is you could hear the cars on I-75 the whole time.

It was very nice! Do note this thou, the hiking trail up towards the mountain does get steep and rocky, come prepared as it does consume alot of energy. It was a great challenge overall and I loved it!

Perfect for a good challenge. But, sadly people have destroyed its beauty. The trail is littered. Still, the way up is a great climb, very demanding. The pay off? A gorgeous view!! An on top of the world feeling!!Take out what you bring in. Simple

A steep trail not to be done when its wet or with large amounts of leaves. To get to the parking, you have to turn next to the state patrol office then there is a church on the left before you get to the parking lot.

Rugged trail lots of loose rocks. But worth it all the way to the top. Amazing views and pleas to picnic. They call it dug gap battle road for a reason. Confederate soldiers were dug into the mtn as a final strong hold of reseca and Dalton. The signs of it are still there.

Great, steep hike. Wonderful views reward those who make the short accent. Can be slippery when wet or too dry, make sure you have good shoes and sure footing.

Strenuous trail both up and down. Hiking shoes/boots are recommend. Bring water. Parking is past the church next to their family life center.

Best short trail in Georgia. Impressive view at the top (with no power lines). The trail is quite steep. Bring water. Cimbing poles or a stick are useful-- especially on the way down.

2 minutes off I-75 if you need a leg burner. I would not recommend this for the really young or really old. Dont go if youre not sure because it will challenge you unless you stop and rest a lot. I got up and down in about an hour but I pushed it. First time here, and I had to guess the trail a couple times: 15 yds in, go right. At the rocky outcrops near the top, one trail goes straight along the edge but take a left to get to the rebel gravesite if youre looking for that. I missed it so if you get to the benches and podium, youve gone too far.

Good parking lots (one on the front of Georgia Highway Patrol and one behind in the hill.)Little difficult, and a lot of small rocks on the trail. Beautiful views... You can see the I75.No signs, no arrows, no markers, no toilets, nothing.I think I found the Officer Soldier Disney grave. No sign too!Go and back... Probably you need 3hrs.In fact, it is not a park but a little mountain!Of course free.

Had a great hike here. It was a little ways off the road in a churchs parking lot. The trail is pretty nice. It splits almost immediately. Take a right. Youll get a great workout. Its a bit strenuous. The hike up, however, is definitely worth the view. Theres a couple of great places to overlook. Check out the grave and the outdoor podium and benches. The only downside I found to this trail is the people who visit. Lots of trash left here and there. Its a shame people do that.

Learn the story behind Disneys death. He stepped out of his tent one morning on top off the ridge.Stood up, stretched out his arms and bowed his back.Yawned and took a round from a sniper on the opposing ridge. His silhouette made him a perfect target. They buried him where he fell.

Distance to the top (podium): 0.71 milesElevation: 1440 ft (Samsung workouts)Its very steep in some places, so dont climb unless you bring good tennis shoes. Definitely wouldnt reccommend for anyone with injuries or difficulty with moderate exercise. Its a nice workout if you push yourself. To reach the top it takes me around 17min jogging/climbing or 25-30 if I walk. Its shaded the entire way so dont bother with sunglasses.
