This is one of the most beautiful little parks in Dallas. Heavily shaded, plenty of benches, impeccably kept, soccer field, tennis courts and a water feature. The childrens playscape has padded flooring as opposed to wood chips. Owners seem to mostly pick up after their pets and there are plenty of poop bag stations always kept in stock. Wonderful park to take your kids or furry children.

Beautiful and pristine park with stocked lake tucked away in Highland Park neighborhood. Had a very productive fishing adventure catching a wide mouth bass moments after casting the line. Very enjoyable and relaxing. You wont be disappointed.

One of the best community park. People like to go there and walking around or sit there watch kids play on the playground. The pond is very nice.

It was a very nice little park. I expected the pond to be bigger but it was still big enough for there to be 10 to 12 people fishing. Lots of shade to sit under and fish. Idk how deep the pond is but it seemed deep. The fish I caught were very small some catfish and blue gill. You get alot of bites but most fish are to small to be hooked its a cool spot to take younger kids Id say.

This is a great little park tucked away off of Hillcrest. Its usually quiet and has a nice walking path that encircles it. There is pond with two fountains in the middle surrounded by stone benches for picnicking. The park has a jungle gym, swing sets, tennis courts and a huge grassy area for catch. What else could you want for a nice afternoon at the park?

Caruth park has great play structures (suitable for littles and bigger kids), swings, park benches, and a couple picnic tables. The ground is there rubbery, bouncy surface, which my kids prefer to wood chips. There are huge sport fields. Parking is a bit far from the actual playground. Main reason I give it a 4-star is because of the ponds. While beautiful, they are worrisome. You really have to be hyper-vigilant at watching your kiddos. Ive seen kids go flying full speed toward the water and parents are booking it after them in hopes of preventing a dip in the pond. Ive also had friends kids jump in and need rescuing. Its at least waist deep in parts.

I grew up here. Ive played more in Caruth Park than any other park. Wow, I remember fishing here, hundreds of YMCA games, playing tag.... Kind of miss the old park.... It had three concrete culverts onto of a little hill. Next to the was the maintenance shed, aka, the Alamo.... The old swings and merry go round next to the tennis courts. Okay, enough about the old days..... The new facilities are very nice, clean and great for families and kids. It is a very safe place.

I lived in University Park for over 20 years and used this park consistently! There is plenty of space to have full soccer matches (no permanent goals), or little-league baseball games, walking/jogging trails to exercise, ponds for fishing and throwing sticks into, oh and did I mention two tennis courts (with lights). If you live in University Park, go to the Parks and Recs office and get a tennis membership (

This is a fantastic little park. Theres a playground, baseball field, empty field, 2 tennis courts, and a pond. There are a benches throughout, a little walking path, and picnic tables. The pond is stocked for fishing. There are tons of little catfish and bluegills. There are also big catfish and VERY large carp. There are suppose to be bass, too, but my son and I have never caught one or seen one caught there. Theres lots of shady areas and a small parking lot (about 15 spots) on the east side of the park. You can also park on the street to the north of the park.
