Great learning experience for children as well as adults.. I loved the Shakespeare garden and taking pictures with the beautiful cicada wings. The snake house was creepy, thank God for the cages because those snakes are staring back unafraid. The information plaques throughout are a nice touch and there is an abundance of seating areas outside. The exhibits inside of the building are filled with little critters including Beetles, frogs and my new favorite the smiling Axolotl! The gift shop has great prices on souvenirs, informational games, and framed specimens.Thank you for an awesome experience!!

It is a nice place to have butterfly experience. It us a two level glass building. You will see lot of butterfly. If you have never been to any butterfly house before. You must try it out. It is a unique experience for kids to an adult if any age. They gave a section that shows cocoon, caterpillar etc.. Which was also unique to experience. At noon 12 they have butterfly release experience where they share lot of interesting info about butterfly too. And for a donation of 5$. You can also experience releasing a butterfly. And all butterfly are recently hatched butterfly. So , they do not keep butterfly anytime. And despite butterfly garden they gave a lot of area outside to walk around, there is a huge fountain, kids playing area, small snake room (with few snakes). And garden area outside has some random sculpture and plenty of chairs to sit around and enjoy mother nature.

Excellent place to bring your kids! The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. There is so much more to the gardens than the Butterfly House! While smaller in size, it rivals the Arboretum in many ways. Would be a beautiful place to have a wedding, and there is ample meeting space in other parts of the property. There are many varieties of butterflies and native flora. Great place to bring anyone from out of town. A true gem in Fair Park.

Such a beautiful place to visit! The smells of sweet nectar and fresh blossoms greet you the moment you walk through the door. Very handicap and senior friendly, but also a great place to bring younguns to enjoy the day. Bring your lunch and enjoy it overlooking a fountain surrounded by a variety of colorful butterflies. A dream come true! They also have a villa you can rent for parties/ weddings. Definitely recommend 10/10

We just held a big event here. 300+ adults and kids. Great venue!! The staff was incredibly helpful. The prep kitchen was easy to use and spacious. Entry and exit for loading and unloading equipment and supplies was easy. The tables and chairs were easy to get to and the staff was very helpful in getting our layout exactly how we wanted it. The speaker system was great. The ability to project a movie or presentation is a bit limited unless you bring your own TV screens in which we did. I would highly recommend this gorgeous setting for wedding receptions, corporate Christmas parties, or other corporate events

Very peaceful! Definitely worth every single penny! I will definitely go back again! LOVED IT

Had a wonderful time. The one drawback was we arrived 45 minutes before they were closing due to a private party and we were still charged full price~a discount or saying we could come back the next day would have given them 5 Stars. Could not really appreciate the grounds or even go in the gift shop. They also had a lot of weeds growing in their planting beds. Nice walking trails through the grounds with picnic area and childrens play area.

Barbara at the reception desk gave us a warm welcome and pointed out the main stops of the tour. The butterfly room was super full of butterflies. You could not go a couple of steps without one flying in front of you. The room was a little on the humid side for environment reasons. The gardens themselves are very beautiful. Plenty of space to walk around and plenty of benches to relax. Two fountains and one coy pond. Also a play area for kids and picnic benches available. Overall great place I plan on purchasing the one year membership.

We visited the butterfly house, gardens and the reptile house. The butterfly house is smaller compared to the one in Houston Museum, but still worthy. Nice setup and landscaping with number of tropical plants, especially flowring plants. You can see how butterflies are coming out of their chrysails. The reptile house is bit creepy, but theres about 10 snake species to see. Next to the reptile house theres a flower garden where you can see local butterfly species flying around.

This place was an amazing gem that Ive never heard of. The entomologist whose name I cant remember was amazing with my 6 year old twins. He answered all of their questions, let them look as long as they wanted, and talked in a way that was easy to understand but without dumbing anything down. One of my twins has been saying for several months that she wants to be an entomologist, and seeing someone who obviously loved their job did so much to nurture her interests. She loves to tell people the things she learned (Did you know that female tarantulas never leave their burrow? Did you know that boy and girl jumping spiders cant be in the same container or theyll eat each other? Did you know that scorpions with bigger claws have less venom?)You guys, this place also went above expectations to thrill my daughter beyond belief. Shes wanted to hold a tarantula since she turned 6 over six months ago. You have NO idea. If she had a bucket list, holding a tarantula would be just above going to Disney world. Really not expecting much, I had to ask if theyd let her hold one of the ones they had brought out to show. He. Actually. Said. Yes. He went out of his way (this was NOT part of the program!) to bring out a tarantula that was more used to being handled and let it crawl in her hands. Im serious, she hasnt stopped talking about it since then. She loves to tell the story to anyone who will listen. We live just south of Waco but we will be there with bells on for any other special events!

Our group was 17 people ranging from my 80 year old grandmother to my 3 month old son and everyone really enjoyed it.The day was a bit warm so we didnt spend as much time outside in the garden portion - but the part we did see is stunning and I would have loved to see more if the rest of the group had permitted it!Prices are not bad $10 a person (my infant was free) and they are stroller friendly!
