Every garden has its feel, and this one is highly groomed. Im usually not that into roses, but their rose garden is really the main flower area. Lots of water features, arbors, and pathways. The rest of the garden is mainly botanical--theres a redwood grove, an oak grove, and hillsides you can climb for a view of the mountains and surrounding neighborhood. Perfect for a walk. I felt a million miles from the city. Theres also a lake and a couple small ponds filled with koi. A stream runs throughout the property, and I found myself just feet from a heron hunting, who caught and managed to eat some sort of crab. I came on a Monday and there was hardly anybody around. Unfortunately, the museum with its display of deadly plant art was close. Now Im going to have to go back!

Worth the drive: So in love with this place! So beautiful! Just wish the train ride didnt close at 1 pm. Bring comfy walking shoes and your camera! Student discount was a plus!

Have few years because of necessity and dont plan to stay here. Ok if your in low income. Too many fireworks about every week during spring and summer especially on holidays. People who have lived here longer feel like they own the place :/ Not many follow the rules and thats not fair when other neighbors (?) snitch on you and you have to follow the rules. A security and cameras are needed.

Where i grew up! The people there are amazing. They actively help each other and are examples of true neighbors and community. There is Definitely more commuinty there than the surrounding areas. Im sure alot of people who are agents of Gentrification and dont like affordable and subsidized housing arent heppy that its there.

At 601 units, this is the only large-scale low-income housing project in West LA. I live next door to this place. Most of the people seem nice, though there are a few gang members living there that tag up the surrounding neighborhood, including on peoples property. The units were not built to look nice and some of the people feed a feral cat colony, which is not ideal, either. But Im glad there is a place where people can live with subsidized rent.
