I can not express enough how AMAZING Rival Cheer Academy is!!! This is my daughter’s 2nd season at Rival. Thanks to the GREAT COACHES and such supportive athletes/parents, we began to see improvements in her skills immediately! We are so blessed to be apart of such a thriving family-oriented gym, where results are seen! We LOVE Rival!

We love the Rival Coaches and atmosphere. They are a very organized gym. They make sure they are helping with challenging your athletic to be the best they can be. To build the confidence within themselves.

So incredibly thankful for rival. My daughter went to another local tumbling company for 2 years and struggled to get her back handspring down. After 2 months at rival she had it down. Not long after was throwing multiples. We are so grateful for everything they have done for us. Couldn’t ask for a better gym!!!

Place looks pretty clean and staff was friendly

This is our second season at Rival. We love the coaches. They are incredibly dedicated and have a lot of experience. The coaches definitely have high expectations of their athletes but they offer plenty of support. The gym is very inclusive, and they will find a place for your athlete no matter their skill level. There is no such thing as a perfect cheer gym, but we are pleased with our experience so far. Our daughter has improved so much in her flying, tumbling, and confidence. We have only Rival to thank for that.

This is our 3rd season with Rival. My daughter had never cheered before but was welcomed and taught what she needed to know. The coaches are knowledgeable and caring. They do push the kids to do their best and strive for more. The other athletes are warm and caring, they build each other up and can be seen encouraging and cheering each other on to be their individual best.No gym will ever be 100% perferct every single area, but communication is open and the spirit here is loving. My daughter knows I will take her to any gym she wants and she CHOOSES Rival. She has gained a ton of new skills and loves being at the gym so much we almost cant get her out to go home. 5 stars from us.

My daughter is in her 4th year of cheer and her 1st year at Rival. Moving to Rival has been one of the best decisions we made! It is her favorite place to be! Taylor and his coaches are awesome and work so well together. They push the kids as any coach should while encouraging them to be their best in everything they do....even school! One of my daughters favorite things is how all of the coaches actually tumble with them to show proper technique (they are amazing!). It has been so much fun to watch her improvement since she started at Rival, with both stunting and tumbling. We are grateful to be part of the Rival family and are looking forward to many seasons to come. My daughter is truly happy and absolutely loves the gym!

If you are serious about competitive or school cheer this is your gym. This is our second season at Rival Cheer Academy and my daughter loves being a party of their family.Yes “family”.Like most families there are good times and hard times. If you put in the work and time, your child will succeed at this gym. The coaches push these kids to be the best that they can be in cheer and at school. We are going into our third season at Rival and we love it! When my daughter started she had zero skills, she has came a long way with the help and positivity of her coaches! I would definitely recommend giving this gym a chance before you take someone else word ;)

Really enjoy this gym and the coaches. Love that they can preform most of the skills themselves and truly show what the kids are aiming for.The pace is a challenging pace that allows the kids to grow and get better.Also, great pricing and relaxed and friendly environment.

Would not recommend. Bad experience for my step-daughter, she WILL NOT ever ever be coming back unless there is a change in the staff.UPDATE: I will not be in the system sir, because its my step-daughter... both of her biological parents are still in the system I assure you.. God Bless as well and going forward I pray you learn how to speak to these children better because they do not deserve that kind of treatment.

Over the last four years my two daughters have been a part of the Rival Cheer Academy. I am so pleased to see them grow their skills in not only the sport but as strong Godly children being that the gym is christian based.The staff and coaches are very attentive to each athlete. The owner is always giving his all has the best attitude, with class and integrity. I am thankful to the Rival staff, coaches and Rival parents.The Rival Cheer Academy is an excellent all around gym, I attribute it to the great people that run this place. Furthermore, you will find the gym tidy and super clean.

This is our second year at Rival, my daughter loves it and we couldn’t be happier!!! Our coaches are amazing, when my daughter was struggling with a decision the coaches felt was best for the team, she got upset. Coach Taylor, let us come in and he talked to her personally ,and help her understand! Her coaches help her get back to where she needed to be ,to do what she loves!! Other gyms would have said ,bye and replaced her without a second thought, not ours though, they loved and help her through her struggles!! Our coaches expect 110 percent and I love that, cause anything in life with less than that won’t be successful, and thats what they are helping us teach our daughter at a young age!!

I cannot say enough positive things about this gym! Rival started from humble beginnings and has continued to grow every year. The owner is always adding fantastic and highly qualified staff/coaches that truly care about the athletes. The facilities are top-notch and provide for a fun atmosphere. If you’re looking for a competitive gym with a family-friendly feel, Rival is a great choice!

We have been a part of the Rival family since season 1. Coaching is excellent and teams are very competitive in their divisions. We love the coaches and couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.

Gym is nice... that’s about it. The coaches or staff never got to know my kids or us as parents. There was no warm feelings like they cared about us At all. It was just. Job to them. We’ve been to places in the past (before moving) where the staff is so kind and they know all the kids etc. defiantly not this place. Some of the coaches are rude!

One of the worst gyms in the metroplex. Please be careful when selecting a gym for your child. The owner talks a good game and god and being a christian, but deep down he is a devil in disguise. My cousin will not be returning after this season.

My daughter does not go to this gym, but I was at a competition this past weekend where Rival was. I cannot believe how I heard a coach talk to his team. I cannot believe parents would allow a coach to talk to their athlete like this. Plus be aware who is around you children and how they are being coached/talked to. This method might be okay for some parents, but I was embarrassed for the team.

This is my daughters 2nd season on a All-star team at Rival cheer academy, 6th year total on a competitive team. She adores her coaches and LOVES her team. She looks forward to practice even when she was out injured and could not participate. Is RCA perfect? No. No gym is perfect. But, Rival cheer academy is perfect for my daughter!!! In her 6 years cheering, this is her favorite team and the happiest she has ever been in her cheer home.

Wonderful gym!! Kids get their skills fast in a fun loving environment. Taylor Mondick is a great coach who pours his whole heart into this program!!

My daughter was with Coach Taylor before he started Rival Cheer. I have seen nothing but growth in her abilities and her character towards coaches, team mates and others. Taylor puts Christian values in everything he does with the gym. If your kid is serious about competition cheer or school cheer Taylor is the right coach and Rival is the right gym. I wouldn’t want anyone else teaching my daughter. I recommend Rival to anyone who asks.

I love this gym!Yes you pay money,but any cheer gym you have to pay for.The coaching is amazing and my daughter has achieved many goals...I would recommend this Cheer gym to everyone!But I feel they should make the size bigger, they are a talented,but growing gym and need more space for parents and athletes. This gym definitely deserves a 5 star review

Rival Cheer has been a fantastic gym for my daughter and many other athletes! The Owner and Coaches lead by example, set high goals and put in the work with the athletes to reach those goals. My daughter is inspired everyday by her Coaches to be her best on and off the floor.

I love Rival, this is where I go for cheer and tumbling Coach Taylor is kind hearted, God loving, and a very athletic person. He has done everything in his power to encourage kids to come learn, grown and mostly have fun. I loved all the friends I have made the past 3 years. The coaching staff is amazing they are always there to help me. We have a prayer as a team before practice which gets us up beat and ready. I love how much our Gym has grown we have 7 teams of amazing, kind, beautiful/handsome young human beings. We tried the gym. Its nice but needs better coaching and coordination. During a recent competition, the team competed without a complete routine. Probably not what you are looking for if you want to compete with highly experienced gyms.Update: My daughter was dismissed from the team 10 minutes after this review was posted due to my honest review. Additionally, while researching the gym I found the registration for the Rival Cheer Academy LLC involuntarily ended due to franchise tax issues in January 2016 according to the State of Texas registration.I now wish there was a half star.

Strong consistent staff that deeply cares for their athletes, top notch facility.

My daughter has been at Rival for almost 2 years now, with one of those being on a competitive team. While over 2yrs we have seen a couple miscommunications (hey, none of us are perfect!) we have always just asked questions and been met with complete understanding. I’ve had opportunity to speak to accounting, the owner, and the coaches, and they’ve all had very welcoming and open communication when I’ve needed it.I’ve read through previous reviews about closed practices, and I felt I should point out that all tumbling classes or prep classes that my daughter has been part of are open to parents. The competitive team practices are the ones that are not open to parents. My daughter came from a competive gymnastics team, where this is a very common practice with a sport that requires extreme concentration and focus to prevent injury to oneself or others.As with all sports, it’s important to talk to your kids about practices like this and keep very open communication with your child in the event you or your child is uncomfortable with something.I’m so thankful for the coaches and staff who have done a fantastic job with my daughter’s team. It’s a physically challenging sport, but my daughter is already looking forward to tryouts and the next season!

Taylor and his staff are awesome. We are on our 2nd season and will be back for a 3rd. Taylor does expect your child to preform at the highest level possible and holds each child accountable for their actions as any great coach should. At the same time his words and actions exudes confidence and encourages the to kids to do their best. He truly cares about the kids and the RIVAL family. #gorival

We’ve been at Rival for a little over a year. My daughter and son have learned so much in the tumbling classes and LOVE the coaches. This is my daughters first year to cheer and she loves every minute of it. Impressed on how much she has learned!!

Rival cheer academy is awesome the coaches are awesome and so are the teams

My sister had a horrible experience at this gym. The staff was nice enough to get us to sign a contract..then it kept going worse. The coaches were hotheads that yelled at the team. All practices were closed so my mom and I had to stay out in the car in the parking lot DURING WINTER! The owner cancelled several practices..that we paid for! All in all its a very strained environment and it stressed my sister and detracted from the athletics. They just werent having fun. My sister and my mom discussed it with the owner, nothing improved. We walked away losing money rather than walk back into that gym. Its a sad gym and I give it one star.

My daughter felt belittled by the coaches, bullied by her team members, and was gossiped about by the parents. Owner actually discussed my minor child with other parents.

This gym does not allow parents to watch practices. How do you know they are making progress or how they are being treated? Bullying continues to be an issue.
