This is a great small museum. The fish tank in the lobby is worth the trip but all of the exhibits were enjoyable. A 1/2 day indoor adventure.

So much history of the area including Native American artifacts, old war records, old farm machinery, antique bottle collection, Black music history, wildlife displays and a beautiful aquarium. All for free (donation box is on 1st floor as is a gift shop). Parking is also free. Great education opportunity.

As county museums go, this is one of the best. The various exhibits are well done, and the facility itself looks very nice. This museum warrants a visit by anyone traveling to or from Myrtle Beach.

This is a nice museum. I would give it a 3 or a 4 if I had to pay for it, but it is free, so adding an extra star. Would recommend if you are in the area.

Clear and comprehensive commentary on countys cultural background and history in a few select exhibits. Rice legacy film offered subtitles sometimes a few moments put of synch with visuals but both well integrated to total narrative.

Great local museum within a historic building. Friendly staff. Nice little gift shop with local fare. Free admission, but drop a few bucks into the donation bucket. Great local museums need all the help they can get to keep them running. Will be back!!

Took my adult children here while they were in town visiting. This was a definite WIN!! For one thing: plenty of parking. Best part of all... its free! They do have a donation jar, but well worth it. Its a good sized place and CLEAN! Very well maintained and managed. We did our self tour and were able to meander through each of the rooms taking in all the history they offered! I will definitely be going back!

Some of it was interesting; the historians need to add much more detail to the exhibits. The huge fish tank, while very impressive, smells truly awful and the odor permeates the air.

I recently visited this museum, because of a specialty fish tank I saw on a TV show Tanked. Wasnt sure what to expect. It was great! Much bigger then I expected, 2 floors with exhibits. They do give tours, or you can just look around yourself. Free admission. If you like history, I would highly recommend!
