This is a really fun park. There are plenty of swings and slides for all ages. The flooring is the soft padded kind which is so much better than bark or gravel. They have some fun misting archways (fantastic on hot days). The playground is fully fenced in with one main exit. There is also a younger play area that is separated from the big kid play area.

I play disc golf at Hillcrest and this review is specific to that.I really enjoy playing at Hillcrest. The course is only 9 holes and fairly short, but has fairly challenging and well maintained. All grass areas are irrigated and mowed, so you will need to lose your disc in a tree.4-8 are in a wooded are with lots of obstacles to demand accuracy even though three of them can be reached with a good tee shot to set up birdies. Not the most difficult course in the East Bay, but a fun one to play.

Its a cool looking playground for sure. Lots of great spots to play. However it can be pretty dirty, and the homeless have made their mark there. While this isnt an issue with the folks that keep it together it brings in all types. I dont feel safe bringing my child there if certain homeless folks are around. There are a few specific ones that seem to harbor a lot of anger.

I love to walk my dog here. It is easy to walk your 10,000 steps going in a circle. You can daydream on the trail, is fairly clean, theres an area of a man made pond and seating area with redwood trees, this park has a softball field. Park does have some homeless element but Ive never been harassed here. During the day there are RVs or people in vans in the parking lot. People tend to keep to themselves .

Its a nice park, but theyve had problems with homeless leaving human waist behind the bathrooms when theyre closed at night. And they have a course set up from that Frisbee Golf game and some of the people playing will literally almost trample over you when playing. They are completely disrespectful of people actually trying to relax and enjoy themselves!

My son really likes it here and you don’t have to worry about the playground being too hot because of the material it is made out of. They also have two small sprinklers for the kiddos to cool down.

Not a big fan. Kind of dirty, lots of homeless, lacking trees. But the playstructue does look like its probably really fun if its not summer and too hot to use it or to surrounded by the homeless. That said I hear the disc golf course here is top notch

I was walking around with my boyfriend and his friends at the park at night just to show them the area since my boyfriend and I just moved here and on the field going toward the frisbee golf we noticed a green laser light pointing at us. Being raised around guns I was immediately spooked because the laser light kept pointing at us and following us so we had to hurry and go all the way around to a barn looking house that led to the road, and avoid the parking lot which was where the light was coming from inside a car. Im not sure if any other people experienced this but if so then you know now. I just moved here in June this year which thankfully got me away from Oakland where there’s lots of shootings going on at night and people getting jumped plus being homeless for awhile so I’m new to the area it’s definitely a lot better but that incident definitely brought up some bad experiences. Be careful if you go at night and make sure your not alone.

Fantastic park! It features one of the worlds only playgrounds designed for use by all kids including the disabled, (wheelchairs, the blind, deaf etc.) The playground is only a few years old and is very modern. There is an official model airplane airport on the opposite side that gets moderate use. The park is massive! There is space for multiple soccer games on the field, there are two baseball diamonds, a sweet duck pond, and a nice trail through some Redwoods. Overall, very nice park but there is a homeless issue and I would not recommend going at night.

Love this playground for my 5 year old twins who both have autism. My daughter loves the misters and my son loves walking around all the levels. Mom loves that it is fenced so elopement isnt as big an issue (a common problem with kids who have autism). We havent been able to get either to go down the enclosed tube slide yet but well keep trying!

Decent park. Kept clean for the most part. The only drawback is the homeless and druggies who hang around the park. They usually stay to their own side away from the childrens area.Unfortunately the bathrooms are close and are often occupied by the homeless and druggies. There are better parks, but this one isnt the worst.

11/11/14We have driven by this park many times but have never stopped here to check it out. I was surprised to see how nice it was when we were here for an event last weekend.I had read about the all-abilities playground: Matteos Dream being constructed and opening, but didnt know where it was. It is here, in Concord! The project was to create a play area so that kids who cant walk, see, or hear, can safely play alongside children who can. This playground at Hillcrest Park is beautiful and really awesome. Padded grounds and ramps and lots of places to play. Its a really cool playground and may be a great opportunity to talk to your child about being kind to others, and playing with children who may be a little different. The rest of the park is okay too. There are a couple of restrooms but they are pretty basic: single-person, no mirrors (probably due to vandalism, given the area), but they were clean when we were there. There are also grassy fields for baseball or soccer and picnic tables.Weve seen large parties and groups gather here, and around Mothers Day there is always someone set up selling roses and stuffed animals.
