It honors the Tuskegee Airmen with photos, memorabilia and WW II planes and helicopters. They recruit and train Compton youth for future flying careers. There are training simulators and rockets there along with drones. The young are able to see the past history of the Black men from Tuskegee that made it safe for our bombers to do their jobs. Levi Thornton who recently died, and other airman wrote their signatures on several of the planes.

Such a great place to learn how to fly for kids and you can even have events such as birthday party or job-related honor parties out on the balcony Garden! Indoors, is a great interactive Museum and they have flight simulators to bring your students! A great Jewel here in Compton! If you are allergic to cats, watch out the office has real life mascots that are kitties. But there is fraud going on here for adult lessons. Go to Torrance instead.

Robin Petgrave stole my $10,000 for flight training and refuses to return my money after he failed to provide any training. Robin keeps making excuses how he doesn’t have the money but continues to sell planes and making business deals on the side. I have voicemails and text messages where he promises he will pay me back but I’m still waiting on my money. Don’t believe anything when it comes to flight school he’s just stealing your money as they aren’t an accredited flight school.

One of the most unprofessional places Ive ever been to. I live 2 minutes away from the airport and have not been able to accomplish anything at this facility. I have taken six check rides none of which have been through this program (not to a lack of trying).I recently wanted to rent the multi engine aircraft. After calling the front desk and finding out they did not know what a multi-engine aircraft was (not kidding), I went to the airport and asked in person, to which no one except Robin knew what the plane was. Turns out no one, not even an instructor, is currently able to fly the plane, and so a completely airworthy and beautiful aircraft sits. I told the lady at the front desk Ive been trying to spend my money here for years and you guys will not let me. This is one of many examples of the incompetence this museum shows. I have lived in Compton for 18 years, and as a commercial pilot and flight instructor, I have not been able to rent any aircraft in the past few years and only one in my entire time living in the city. The people who work there know nothing about aviation, there are always kids running around doing anything they please, and the flight instruction is abysmal. I am truly surprised the program has lasted as long as it has. As a kid, this is a great place to go to. As any sort of professional, I would steer very clear of this place as far as rental or training goes. Do not spend any money here on flight training or rental until they get their act together. They love breaking records to get funding but do nothing about the actual flying aspect.

Went to an event at the museum and was told they had a great deal going on that day for helicopter rides... fly 30 minutes for $100.00. They took me up for only 15 minutes and when I tried to talk to them about it and explain that I only paid the $100 because it was a great deal for 30 minutes otherwise, I never would have thrown down $100 for 15 minutes.I was hoping they would handle it by apologizing and giving me a bit more of a discount or maybe a discounted ride in the future. Instead, they completely dismissed me and blamed me and told me that I got an AMAZING deal regardless of it only being for 15 minutes instead of the promised 30 minutes. Their customer service was terrible and she spent the whole time blaming me and trying to convince me for why I was wrong to be upset. If you pay for a service promised, then how is the customer wrong when you dont receive that service? Very deceitful and rude of them. Will not be back or recommending this place.

Robin Petgrave is not Robin Hood.. Robin Hood had morals and gave what he stole to the poor. Robin Petgrave does not give what he steals to the poor, and has no morals. The only services economically disadvantaged people here receive come from the government funds he receives for providing those services, which they paid into with their tax dollars.Scammed out of $2000 here! The worst part is Robin asked for advanced money on my flying lessons account so he could pay the electricity bill. I feel bad for the good kids who go here who Robin uses as bait for his scams.Because the business is a corporation, even if you litigate and win (as I did), you will be unable to collect. One of the women who used to work here called me and told me she was fired for confronting Robin after she discovered he was withdrawing money from people’s flying lesson accounts. When I confronted him on it, he tried discrediting the women by saying her son still goes here.Hats off to Robin Petgrave not Robin Hood, for being able to con so many people unrestricted for his 25+ year career on the backs of hard working people.

We had a fantastic time celebrating my 50th birthday flying high! Even though the arranged pick up time was delayed, the driver Luis and his team more than made up for that. They were cheerful, and knowledgeable of what TAM stood for. When we arrived we were greeted my a lovely young man who was the manager and he took us around the museum- its great what Robin Petgrave the founder is aiming to achieve by giving young people a dream to one day fly an aircraft.

Ive lived in the area for over 45+ years, and Ive finally marked this one off my bucket list. I was there Thursday the 20th, with a friend. Just happened to be driving by and pulled right in, after pulling a uey. I especially loved the Vietnam era helicopters on the ramp, they made my day. Stayed looking at all the displays and planes for least 2 hours. A quick shout out to William, I think was his name, very imformative young man. Ill be back. Thank you.Agustin R. Valdez

Circus! I signed my son up for the summer camp for 2 weeks as a tester. According to their flyer they have scheduled activities for example on Tuesdays theyre supposed to work on drones and Wednesdays they go on field trips however never happened the first week.. Friday of that same week I went to pick my son, I was told that my son was not there and that he went on a field trip. I asked the young man why wasnt I notified? He states we called all the parents and grabbed a sheet of paper with kids names with the parents number and emails my sons and my info were not on the sheet of paper he showed me then said Oops sorry whats your name and number so we can call when he comes back.. He then tells me that they were heading back, I called my son and tells me that they havent left Carrillo Aquarium. Wait Aquarium?? What happened to Space X and Northrop Grumman? So nothing was done that was listed on the flyer. The teenagers that oversees the kids swear. Not adult supervision which brings me to my breaking point. The 4th of July my ex-husband was able to pick my child up without me being contacted to confirm if that it was ok.. on the forms that I signed I left 2 people who were authorized and that is not ok with me.. it does not matter if my child said Santa was picking him up.. Why wasnt that verified? No id was checked and when I arrived my child was gone AGAIN!! The only theyre saying is that I shouldve provided court documents, to me I shouldnt have to if he was not on the list as an authorize person and if Ive been the only one dropping him and picking up.. I received an email from then still stating the same that they take no responsibility in me not being informed that my child left and that I shouldve given them the court docs. I did not respond due to me being upset that they were so careless TWICE. I called today to see if I could get a refund for a shirt that I payed for in advance and never received Deanna Jordan whos over the camp and whom Ive been dealing with during my sons stated Ill call you back since you didnt reply to my email HA! Now that Im posting this 10 dollars and me pulling my son not going for the remainder of this week which was prepaid for isnt much. Please do not spend your hard earned money into this show
