Stumbled across this place on yelp while at Dolores Park, made the hilly trek, had a truly lovely time, especially with the slides being steeper than we expected . What a gem.

This place is a true local treasure, being the heart of the original Rancho San Pedro. Well worth a visit. Make sure to look at the old maps on the walls. Its also a great place for an event!

Its a cluster of lamps that brightens from a distance. As you closely approach and start singing Riris Shine bright like a diamond..., it becomes a photo op, but with a huge crowd because everyone wants to work their angle without having someone photo bomb their picture.

Beautiful grounds surrounded by beautiful groves of trees that offer many unique spaces for a wedding, reception, or event. We were hired by a lovely couple to provide an All You Can Drink Beverage Station for their baby shower. Given that it was a very hot day, their guests were able to fill up on limitless beverages. The adobe provides a picture perfect backdrop for any event Highly recommended venue!

Staff is rude and dont even know their own rules, first they said they cannot tell us whether or not we can be in the church because its NOT their property then threaten to call the cops on us for visiting the church ?They themselves said they cant tell us what to do in regards to the church side yet threaten my family with the cops!?! Really... Get yourselves on the same page before you threaten a nice family going to church again.

One of the earliest Adobes in California this was a fun place to visit. The grounds have a rose and cactus garden, neither historic. The house is historic, but only open with a tour. no exploring on your own. The tour is great and well worth a visit. Free tour and parking with the tour lasting a bit over an hour and another 40 min to explore the park it is a quick stop.

We didnt know about this museum and grounds before. The rose garden is large and lovely. Needs some weeding however. The cactus garden in back of the homestead is amazing with many huge varieties. Our tour guide was very informative and took us through the entire house. Very historical narrative with gobs of artifacts and antiques.

I was excited to visit this historical museum. The docent was happy to take us around. I thought he couldve offered more information and allowed us to view the artifacts but instead rushed the tour. I know it was free but he still couldve offered more since this is very important history. Also, I thought maybe the docent wasnt well read in California history. I expected more.

Favorite field trip by far! The staff there are so welcoming and helpful. We had two groups, fifth and fourth grade. One group went on a tour while the other group participated in activities. The tour itself was fantastic. It was educational. My students learned a lot about their city and how it’s changed over time. Due to all the scary movies they have seen, there was one room with dolls that scared them. But other than that, great tour. The activities were extraordinarily good! They “panned for gold” and they played Victorian era games. All in all, best field trip ever!

I love this museum! So awesome to see how the southbay really started and how people lived at that time! I love walking through house and looking in detail at all the furniture, clothing and all the other things used in that time. Its fun to pretend you climbed in a time machine and visit all the wonderful historical items. I highly recommend a visit!

This is truly a hidden gem! First of all this place is beautiful. The museum is the first Spanish land grant in the state of California. The house itself is almost 200 years old! This place has the history of the south bay and the Dominguez family. Given that it is a non-profit (FREE) museum, I encourage you all to visit!

Sucked!!!! Rude Rude people... I stopped by to quickly see the place as it is located in the middle of heavy oil and railroad industry.. I went on one of the two days it is open. The place seemed interesting, but not a lot to see from the outside. I took one picture of a fountain that was sparsely working and I was notified that I needed to check in and pay for the tour before I took pictures, even though Im outside and just feet from the parking lot.. I agreed and went inside and offered to pay the fee although I did not have the time to take the tour.. She then upped the fee to a monstrous FIFTY BUCKS to take a few pictures!!! Of What- A broken fountain and a wooden wagon that ready to fall apart.. Fifty bucks to take a few pictures.. This may be interesting to someone, but god forbid you take a camera.. This is history and should be enjoyed by everyone, and we should be able to remember the place with a few simple snap shots,, But Noooo.. Its better to push visitors away by being rude and greedy.. Rude-rip off.. There are a lot of wonderful places to see in Los Angeles and Orange County, but not this one... Sucks Very Disappointing.
