Ive been coming to Schiller Park since I was a kid, but never really stopped to look around. There is a lot of history and beauty here in this little park.The Actors Theatre of Columbus puts on plays on the outdoor stage here throughout the summer season. It is a great experince to come with family, friends or perhaps a date. Bring a picnic and enjoy as the performers act out prominent works of theatrical majesty in front of you on the stage set back in historical fashion draws you in.

Great community treasure. My only complaint has been the sound quality this season. Both Romeo and Juliet and Little Women were very difficult to hear clearly. Cant wait to see the other parts this season.

Tonight we saw As You Like It. It was truly one of the best performances Ive seen there. The actors took to the roles with such natural grace. Well done.

A free, professional, outdoor theatre company that performs Shakespeare and other classical works from memorial day to labor day. They also offer various classes and hold interesting events.

We have been going to outdoor perm at schiller park for yrs in the summers, its always a fun time! They recently added a new snack place, its a steak sandwich place. The snickers salad is amazing! Acting is always superb, u can reserve blanket & chairs to arrive last min & bring ur own picnic foods!

This is a great company. Shows run Thursday through Sunday every week of the summer from mid-May to August. They usually do Shakespeare and other classics, but also the occasional new work by local playwrights. The shows, in my opinion, are by and large some of the best youll see in Columbus. Its outdoors, so folks bring blankets or lawn chairs to watch the show. The ushers cordon off an area in front of the stage that is blankets only so that nobodys view is blocked. The stage faces a hill so you almost always have a good view. Its like a giant community picnic. You can bring food, but they also have a concession stand run by Legacy BBQ. The only issues are the occasional cancellation due to weather, but theyll make an announcement if it starts raining before or during the show. They have occasional sound problems as well. They have a speaker system, but heavy wind will sometimes make it hard to hear, helicopters have a habit of flying low over the park, and the residents nearby can be jerks and start doing lawn care during showtimes (which is ridiculous since the shows start at 8pm). The shows are free, but they do ask for donations. The company also provides classes for kids and adults, and have events like the Drunken Underground or Fight Night which are super fun. Definitely worth a look!

The shows are almost always fantastic - especially for a free performance (although it is recommended that you donate). The spots fill up quickly, so arrive at least 20 minutes before the show starts. Legacy Smokehouse is now the concession vendor and they have great barbecue. Otherwise, many people bring picnics, snacks, etc.

Delightful show. Watched As You Like It

I have seen and read Macbeth several times; however, I was most impressed that in this production, the love, pain, guilt, and grief expressed presented a more faceted view of their humanity. The set and costumes, although very good, did not distract from what was going on between the characters. This was an excellent production in my humble opinion. AND the food was wonderful. Planning to see it again.

I attend their outdoor dramas every chance I get. They are always entertaining and always free. Its a great date location as well.

They make summers in Schiller Park all the more memorable. Be sure to swing by Barcelona and grab cozy seating and/or a comfy blanket and enjoy their performance!

Normally outstanding ensembles.. this one needed work..Theseus was the only accomplished actor..others spat out their lines like they had a bathroom emergency
