An absolute, rare jewel of Catholicism in Columbus, Ohio. This former Catholic elementary school is a soup kitchen and a Catholic museum with many incredibly pieces of Catholic art, from 400 years old chasubles from the Holy Land, to amazing full functioning gigantic organs that once where in Cathedrals. Absolutely not to miss.

Entry access hours: 1000-1230 M_F, but one can visit beyond the 1230 close. Not only artifacts from area churches that have closed - windows, statues, alters, paintings - but also ancient books such as alter missals, bibles - even a Gutenberg - as far back as the 1200s. Definitely worth the two+ hours to tour. Get there early!

The reviews about this place are true--it really is a hidden gem. Got a nearly 2-hour tour from the director and it only felt like half an hour. He was very knowledgeable, informative, and easy to talk to. Even after spending so long there, we could easily go back and spend several more hours looking at all the stuff there. There are not only religious items but also items of great historical significance. This photo is of an amethyst owned by Mary, Queen of Scots. Really stunning to see in person. The museum is planning to temporarily close sometime within the next year (as I understand it) for renovations and the addition of a whole new building. Rumor has it our beloved Santa Maria--now gone from the riverfront--will be finding a new home there. You really cannot do any better for free on an afternoon.(One caveat: the building is not ADA compliant. My husband and I were thankfully allowed to bring in our sons stroller, but we had to carry it up and down the stairs ourselves. Its just a regular stroller, so we didnt have any trouble, but it could be an issue for those with mobility issues. Im sure that the new facilities will be compliant, so some may wish to wait until then to visit.)

Beautiful artifacts from the Holy Family diocese. It also serves as the Soup kitchen for the homeless. At the lower part of the museum. It was also in the early 70s and 80s the largest bingo hall. In 1890s through 1945? It was a catholic school.

This place was great u dont have 2 be religious to like this place. I will say they run a soup kitchen downstairs so the place attracts not so desirable. However u do have to ring the doorbell to be let in. Our guy cant remember his name but he was very knowledgeable and he played the organ for us. It really is worth a visit.

My husband and I visited the Jubilee Museum for the first time recently, and we cannot believe weve waited so long! Weve both lived in and near Columbus for most of our lives and had no idea the hidden gem downtown! The collection of artifacts is diverse and so interesting. The tour guide knew so much about just about everything he showed us, and we could tell he had a true interest in the contents of the museum and the history. Best of all, for those with children, much of the place seems to be free of the usual hands-off approach of most museums and collections. Within reason, we could handle many artifacts and were invited to do so several times with old books. The Jubilee Museum is certainly a beautiful and wondrous place to stop in, regardless of ones religious leaning.

What a hidden gem in Columbus. Regardless if you’re a devout catholic or even religious at all, there are so many incredible exhibits in this place. Thank goodness we actually toured with the docent that offered a guided tour. He was so knowledgeable and was able to answer even the most obscure questions. He was such a wealth of knowledge. Kudos folks, for the best hidden gem, of a museum, in Columbus! Thank you.

A hidden gem located on the West Side of our City. I so enjoyed my visit. I loved listening to one of the young host play Christmas carols on the pipe organ. Please try for a visit while the Nativity exhibit is there and I hope you enjoy your visit as much as I did.

The Jubilee Museum is filled with interesting artifacts of Catholic history, art, traditions, and culture that span centuries of time. The entrance is a bit hard to find, but completely worth it once you have (ring the doorbell at the top of the metal stairs and someone will let you in). The staff are very helpful and vested in the great work that they do. If you are really lucky, Shawn might play the pipe organ for you. This is a hidden gem in Columbus for Catholics and non-Catholics alike. If you like unique and interesting and enjoy learning something new, the Jubilee Museum is a great experience.

The Jubilee Museum is a museum of Catholic and Jewish relics. When I was there, they had a 500,000 piece to scale replica of the Vatican. This is a place that you should bring kids who are ready to learn.

What a wonderful place to go to see religion history. Although most of it is for Catholicism there is other religions artifacts that have been donated to this Museum. I just absolutely love the history and the things that have been donated and the knowledge that these people have.
