A pretty ideal 4 mile loop, rolling with nothing flat. At least not for very long. Very popular and busy much of the time when the weather is nice. Popular with horses owners as well. Good wide trails for navigating all the traffic.

Great place to hike. A loop trail, so you cant get lost. Mostly even terrain on a wide trail. Perfect for social distancing. Definitely wheelchair accessible. Evidence of old Black Forest fire visible which is interesting to view. Most of trail is shaded by beautiful trees.

Great trail. Well maintained. Highly used. Fun to ride. Great place to bring the family for a nature walk, jog, or bike ride. Just wish it had a few more trails rather than just one big square.

Visited on a Wednesday morning around 8am. Parking lot was already full, might have had something to do with the pandemic and people being cooped up too long.I was on a mountain bike and just about the only person not walking the trail. Great terrain and wide enough trail that I didnt have too many issues getting around other visitors. 4 mile loop so kind of short for biking but would be great to jog. Definitely will go back sometime.

This is one of my go-to trails. Tons of parking and a lot of the loop is in the trees, so even in a hot day you arent overheating. My kids love this trail because theres a handful of benches around the trail to stop and have a quick snack

Over the years I have enjoyed this trail for hiking, geocaching, and jogging. On one trip with my kids, we found lizards and frogs. The trees are beautiful and the shade is appreciated in the summer. The one bathroom seems to be always either locked or busy. Much of the trail is close enough the rode to hear the traffic. There are almost no bailout routes, so be prepared. Watch out for horse poop. This morning I tried it for biking, but it was unpleasantly difficult going uphill with the thick, wet sand (maybe because of yesterdays rain storm). Ill try again when it dries out.Sadly, Black Forest doesnt have a good system of bike lanes or bike trails to make this trail accessible by bike from a distance, so it only makes sense to drive to the trailhead.

This trail is a regular hike of mine. About 4 miles around, dirt trail with few small hills, and youre partially shielded from sun and wind from the trees. Keep your eyes open for deer which are frequent.Theres a decent sized parking lot, big enough for multiple cars and horse trailers/trucks. Horses and leashed dogs are frequent visitors, and youll see walkers, runners, and mountain bikes. Everyone Ive encountered has been super friendly. There is one bathroom and only one poop bag station at the beginning of the trail. There are 3 benches throughout and youll walk right past the School in the Woods.

Great, easy trail to walk around. I love Black Forest for all the trees. My only complaint is that a lot of the trail is right next to the road so you can hear/see all the traffic that comes by. Some of it is back farther and not as bad. I think others have said it isn’t very scenic, but I loved walking through the trees (and snow at the time). You can’t see the mountains but I would think that obvious to people since you’re in a forest. The trail is also pretty wide so it’s an easy walk for all ages.

It seemed like a great place to ride, however there was to much ice to continue down the trail the day we were there.Be prepared to see everybody with an off leash dog. It is absolutely ridiculous how people can not follow the leash law. It does make riding dangerous.

Its a nice park. Theres great trails that arent too hard, the trees are beautiful, you can see some wildlife sometimes too. Theyve done a great job of cleaning it up after the fire. There are still some visible scars in some places, but it looks like theyve minimalised future fire risk and encouraged new growth in the bare spots. Theres even some beautiful flowers that you can see blooming.

We spent a couple of hours geocaching which my kids (8 & 10 yrs) really enjoyed. We trudged through a moderate amount of snow and only found half of our caches, but the trail was easy enough and it seldomly opened up enough to see the main road, so that was nice! Well head back when the snow melts !

Love this walk with my dogs, but only three stars due to the horse feces all over the trail. There is a LOT of horse poop. Literally all over.Nobody seems considerate enough to use a bun bag.The dog owners seem to pick up after their pets, but horse owners are ruining the trails.

Very nice easy trail of around 4 miles in the full loop. There are some hills but nothing someone coming of pneumonia a couple weeks ago could do fine with, but also had a lab help pull me a little. There also horses, and mtn bikers on the trail. I would not recommend mtn biking here, it is far to flat and if you are working on endurance not much of hills to be worth it, add in the walkers and animals not ideal. Great though for horses and dog walks.

Love this trail! There are always other on it which makes it feel safe. Nice variability on the trail. Youll often see horses on the trail as well ( hence lots of horse dung). Only qualms would be that there is no reception on the trail if you plan to stream music or a tracking app.

This is a regular hike for me because its never too hot in summer being mostly in the trees and at a bit higher elevation. Its a 4.2 mile loop and not too hard or too easy. A bit more of a challenge for a mountain biking due to sandy areas. Its also great because its beautiful and never too crowded during the week. Horse back riders enjoy this loop too.

Could be a really great place for all but ran into 2 gals on their bikes with 3 big dogs running loose and confronted them that their dogs in that park are to be leashed per the big sign and the law, They laughed and threatened we could be shot! Others that had their dogs on a leash were also concerned their dog would be confronted by the loose dogs.
