I came here to see EarthGang preform last year and Im so glad they did because the Black Sheep was absolutely the best introduction to the Colorado Springs music scene I couldve asked for. The local musicians were awesome and the energy from the crowd was great. I was blown away by the amount of support for Dot and Olu that night. Never before had I seen women twerking in the middle of a moshpit, and to this day I have not experienced another atmosphere so filled with joy and love and freedom. I cant wait to go back.

Every town has that one venue that host any and all types of shows. The Black Sheep is that place for Colorado Springs. Small, intimate, and great staff. They let you party, but will toss people if they become unsafe. I love this spot.

Man, I remember when this venue became The Black Sheep! These days we dont get out for shows much but going back to The Black Sheep made us realize we need to get out more! The sound is great, the energy is positive and the location is not bad! Thanks to the staff for keeping this place going and keeping a scene for the youth and adults in the springs! If you havent been - go check them out!

Saw Avatar perform in the parking lot on their current headlining festival tour and it was amazing!! The staff was pretty attentive when a pit erupted and kept a sharp eye on everything going on during their set. I didnt get any food or drinks but heard things were good and decently priced from people in the crowd. Great club venue for intimate shows like this one was!

Honestly my favorite concert venue! I recommend it to everyone I know. You can see a lot of up and coming artists for a good price and at a smaller stage where it always feels like a more personal experience. The staff is incredibly nice and they help make it a safe experience too (will hand out water bottles if you need or walk you to your car etc). Theyre genuinely great people and I always have a positive experience there.

Large venue and one of the best sound systems in town. Drinks are a bit pricey but Im sure it helps cover the big touring bands that come through. Only seating is wooden benches along the walls. Smoking area outside is fenced in the parking lot, and no re-entry so make sure you bring everything.

I went there to see Soulfly and its a really good club to see bands almost intimately. The staff was very professional security allowed kids to dance and didnt break it up unless it got out of hand. so you are allowed to have fun as long as you werent hurting anybody and I like that a lot of places you dont get to do that

Ive been to 2 shows here. The first one (That 1 Guy) was pretty good - no complaints. However, the one I went to last night (Magic Beans) was so unbelievably loud that I had to leave halfway through the second opener. Mind you, Ive been to over 300 shows so I have a fairly good idea of what noise level a show should be at. I was sitting way in the back on a bench almost the whole time because it was too loud to get closer, I had earplugs in, and was only there about an hour, and the next day I had the WORST ringing in my ears all day which isnt going away. If you feel like getting tinnitus, then feel free to come here, but Ill probably never see a show here again.

I always have a blast at this venue! Its an open floor so youre able to get right up against the stage without much difficulty, giving you more of an intimate music experience. Drinks werent too exhorbant either, and from the bartenders to the security detail the staff was polite and friendly all the way around. Get there early if you want a parking spot close to the doors and not down the street though!!

A small intimate venue in the Springs. This is a great place to see some good local bands during the week and some bigger bands on weekends. The sound system is actually really good and the floor and stage are spread well. Theres so much room for activities haha!!! Drink selection and prices are pretty standard (over priced and lack of options). 4 stars mostly because of the layout and sound quality.

Best place in the Springs to see a show. Over the last 3 years I have seen over 12 shows and each time I have a great experience. The audio is great, I love the smaller size of the venue as the shows are a little more intense yet intimate. Only issue is how hard it is to get back and forth to the bar but thats just how the building was built.

Review №34

Interesting venue to see a band. Its small and intimate, but the bathroom floor will always be covered in urine by the end of the concert. Not that the establishment has any control over that. But where else are you going to see a live band in Colorado Springs? Theyve cleaned it up over the years and they got rid of the urinal trough which is a plus. There also seems to be a very negative vibe with the place. Every time I go there theres always a fight breaking out, Everytime... the security was on top of it though last time I went there, so kudos to them. They were able to stop it before it got out of control. The security was also very respectful as well. They just drag the people outside and told them to get gone, they werent overly aggressive and acting crazy like I have seen with the bouncers downtown. So if your favorite band is in town definitely go to the black sheep to see them, just be aware that the people in the springs are crazy, uptight and looking to start drama for some reason.

Went to go see Suicide Girls there. The show was awesome. Wish there was a bit more space and they had started the show earlier than advertised so I missed the one part I wanted to see the most which was them in Star Wars costumes. But otherwise, they were very helpful, even gave me a stool and made sure I had a place to sit. I ended up off to the side and not able to see really well because of the early start, but I had a seat and was still a really good show.

I really like this venue, wish it offered just a bit more seating. The benefit to this venue is that it is as close to a band you will likely ever get. Seen some great shows here like Fear Factory, Suicidal Tendencies, Mac Sabbath, Coal Chamber, and more!Edit apparently if an autistic guy in the mosh pit hits you in the face with a drink and you react its an automatic ejection. Note that I was not aware of this persons disability, I was informed while I was being escorted out. I went with security completely peacefully and without incident and even offered to shake their hand after they denied my side of the incident however was even refused that common courtesy. If you are going to throw out one of your best customers please have the common courtesy to shake their hand goodbye.

The location is small and good to get close to the bands. Not sure how they can have kids as small as 4 years old in a place with alcohol and people doing a mosh. There were many really small kids there until 11pm. Not sure how the insurance works on covering small kids. Not even sure how tiny kids can be in there. You have to look out to make sure while watching the bands not to step on a small kid. The audio was not set so you can understand any words the bands were saying. If you know the words you can sing in your head. If you dont know the words you will not hear them. Audio editing could correct this issue. Not sure what the laws are on tiny kids in this environment this late with some really drunk people. I do like the place and did not want to see these extremely young kids get hurt.

I read reviews before heading to a concert here. I was very cautious due to what I had read. However there was no need. The bounces that other claimed were horrible and liked to rough people up, were amazingly nice to us (group of 4). They were kind to my girls and me. They let us go to the car when needed and even helped me walk one of the girls to car when she had a bit to much (before we got there, they didnt serve her, and rightfully so). I forgot my jacket after the concert and they had already closed up. They allowed me back in to get it. So my perspective is. If you act decent and respect them, theyll respect you and even look out for you in return. Thank you guys for helping me with my friend and being kind. Especially David! The actual venue: clean bar and bathrooms, dance floor, good sound system, all in all great little place. What you absolutely expect from a hidden away bar/venue. I didnt give 5 stars because they charge for water. 2$ a bottle, so not bad, but shouldve been free. That is my only complaint.

I repeat, no place to sit down. Except the ground! No problem getting high! None at all! Alcohol is plentiful. Ice is a premium! But its free, just ask. The open air stage seemed small at first. But its bigger than it looks. Much bigger! The show looked and sounded great. The staff were professional and curtious at all times! Its a great place to see a show. Best local band venue in the Springs! The kids have a great scene here and are a huge support for touring bands. Im super excited this place exists! So most week day shows are $8-$12 and the bigger named shows go up to $20 to $35. For those shows purchase tix early because they do sell out. The staff are always helpfull and provide ear plugs free for those who need it, with that being said the sound system always sounds phenomenal for the crowd and the bands say stage sound is great as well, there is an ATM just inside the entrance so you can buy merch from bands that dont take cards. The box office is cash only but the staff is cool with letting you use the ATM to buy tix. The bar does accept cards and has a great selection of liquor and Avery IPA with Great Divide Titan are always on tap for $6, a few more craft selections are available in cans along with a selection of domestics. My only con is the restroom situation, I think some people dont aim or flush so the smell is harsh and gets worse the further back you go however Ive been in venues with way worse situations so its to be expected at almost every venue that hosts shows every day of the week. If youre only in town for a few days and want to see a show this is the place to go! Chances are youll see a killer band youve never heard of, thanks for being the best of COS Black Sheep!

An ok venue, its a little bit small I would have to say, but I have only been to huge events so Im not sure if its considered small. The artists had to walk through the crowd to the stage which was cool, because you were able to see them close up if you were in the right place. Overall, I would definitely go back! But it would be the artists who make me go back and not the venue itself.

To be honest the crowd doesnt find it bad, the talent on the night I went was good. But the really need to do something with the acoustics it does become hard to hear the singers because there is none. The whole place vertebrates backed the sound because the Acoustics are bad whats makes the sound not so good. The whole place just needs to be updated. I found the ladies room to be dirty and very offencive I understand that its a bar lounge venue but it doesnt call for the offensiveness that is written all over the walls.
