Great view of the falls. Very easy walk, unless you want to go down to the bottom (85 steps, plus a short windy path to get all the way down). Easy parking right across the street.

Incredible view of the waterfall. The view is a 3 minute walk from the parking lot across the street. There are no trails so just be prepared for the view.It is definitely worth the stop along your way.

Lower access closes at 7. Upper level at 7:30. Several interpretive boards to read a spot on the audio tour. Highly recommend speaking with a park steward. I got the chance to meet Park Steward John today. The extraordinary view and his conversation made my 1st trip to the 2nd largest falls in NY a great one.

My Favorite Place To Go In Cohoes. Great Scenery To Take Pictures. The Falls View Park Was A Great Addition To Get A Better View Of The Cohoes Falls. This Is A Must See! Absolutely Free To Get In. 2 Different Spots To Look From. If The One Is Closed Go To The Opposite Side Of The Falls Near The Apartment Buildings.

Just rating it for my experience but the river was running dry. Not as my water as I expected and theres not very much to do after that. Id definitely visit again in hopes of chasing great waterfalls...

Having the best view of the falls, this is a hidden gem. Park is well maintained. Has limited parking. Definitely a must visit if you are around Albany.

Review №24

Very beautiful and clean. Calling it a park might be a stretch since its very small (maybe 5 mins to walk the through). Its more of a viewing spot for the falls but its still very petty. Not very crowded and plenty of places to sit. There is a corner shop across the street. I highly recommend getting some ice cream in the spring/summer and enjoy it walking or sitting by the waterfall!!!Note - Dogs are apparently not allowed which is a bummer

This a quaint lookout area of Cohoes Falls in the historic city of Cohoes, NY. This location is the bridge between the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers. If you go in warm weather bring water and a hat as there is limited shade. There are a few tables where you can have a nice lunch. Please keep the park clean! There are about 82 steps to get down to the closer view of the falls. There is not an accessible path to the lower part of the lookout; the upper level has ramped walkways covered in fine gravel. I will revisit in the fall when temperatures are cooler. There is limited parking near the site. This is a great spot for a quick promenade.

Va
Review №38

Its a nice park, the falls is wide and hard to capture a panorama. Wish there was a ramp to see the falls much clearly, overall nice place would spend 30-40mins average time.

THERE ARE TWO VIEWING POINTS TO ENJOY THE COHOES FALLS. (COHOES FALLS PARK ON SCHOOL ST. & FALLS VIEW PARK ON NORTH MOHAWK ST.). THIS ONE IS TINY BUT A NICE VIEW OF THE FALLS AND A GOOD PLACE TO READ A BOOK, HAVE A SANDWICH OR SIT WHILE AND JUST SOAK IN THE FALLS. IF YOU WANT A LITTLE MORE GO TO FALLS VIEW PARK. THERE IS A PARKING LOT ACROSS FROM THE ENTRANCE AND A COOL BRIDGE CROSSING THE RIVER. TO THE LEFT OF THE BRIDGE YOU HAVE A FEW PICNIC TABLES (NO GRILLS) AND TO THE RIGHT INFO SIGNS, BENCHES AND VIEWING. WHEN YOU CROSS THE BRIDGE THERE IS A PAVED PATH AND STAIRS TAKING YOU TO A LOWER VIEWING POINT WHERE YOU CAN GET A GREAT VIEW OF THE FALLS. JUST A FEW MO FEET THERE IS ANOTHER PLATFORM WHERE YOU CAN WATCH THE GULLS SWOOP DOWN FOR FISH. I ALWAYS RAED THE 1 STAR REVIEWS BECAUSE YOU CAN GET A GOOD LAUGH. PEOPLE RATE THE THE FALLS WITH ONE STAR BECAUSE THERE ARE NO DOGS ALLOWED (THE PARKS ARE TO SMALL FOR DOGS). NOT MUCH TO SEE OR DO. MAYBE THESE PEOPLE NEED TO SPEND MORE TIME ON THE COUCH. ONE GUY SAID THE SIGN LIED BECAUSE ITS NOT SECOND TO NIAGARA FALLS. WELL MY FRIEND IT IS. NIAGARA FALLS AKA AMERICAN FALLS IS ONE OF 3 FALLS. YES ALL 3 FALLS TOGETHER ARE MUCH BIGGER BUT NIAGARA FALLS IS THE ONE THATS ON THE U.S. SIDE. THE FALLS ITSELF (NOT INCLUDING THE ROCKY BOTTOM) ARE 70 TO 110 FT HIGH, COHOES FALLS 90 FT HIGH, NIAGARA FALLS IS 1,060 FT WIDE, COHOES IS 1000 FT WIDE. I REALLY WISH PEOPLE TAKE THE TIME TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING BEFORE DOING A STUPID REVIEW. THIS IS AN AWESOME FALLS. DONT MISS IT. I UPLOADING PICTURES SO YOU CAN SEE BOTH VIEWING SPOT. MY 13 YEAR OLD SON TOOK A BUNCH OF THESE PICTURES. NOT BAD FOR HIS 1ST TIME

Review №52

The park could really be amazing if worked on. The view of the waterfall looks small in pictures, its much bigger in reality, kinda surprising when you get to see it. The place looked like it was not taken care of. Its a very small park, you cant spend much time here, there really isnt anything to do. The main advantage of this park is the view, and it could really be amazing.

We have been chasing waterfalls for many years every area we visit we typically search for waterfalls in the area this was one we had been trying to get to for quite some time and glad we did! I thought it was a really great idea for all the life saving floats to be placed throughout the park Im case of an accident you dont see that at too many parks. It was clean and it had multiple visitors in the hour we wandered around, great experience

Small area that offers a closer look at Cohoes Falls. There are a couple overlooks and also a staircase to the bottom. Plenty of parking across the road.

Review №58

Not exactly on the Erie Canal, but definitely worth the slight detour to check out this waterfall. To get to this view, you do have to walk down a steep trail to the bottom which means you have a steep walk back up! Despite what it look like, you never actually get super close to the base of the falls as it is fenced in well back of it. Beautiful nonetheless. IG: wanderlust_turtle

Ji
Review №59

Great views of the falls, but sometimes hard to find parking on nearby streets. Lots more water after the Erie Canal closes for navigation late each fall. Plenty of signage for the old Erie Canal nearby. It originally took 16 locks to get around Cohoes Falls and it took all day to go only a couple of miles. Great engineering feat and one of the last parts of the canal to be finished.
