Very cool place to see coffeyille history. Alot of old workmanship everywhere you look. Christmas tours are very beautiful, and wildlife right outside the doors.

The tour guide, Linda, was an excellent storyteller. She pointed out many features that would not be obvious at first. There was a 6 & 7 year old in our group and she included them in the discussion..... inviting them to feel free to sit on the floor....but not to touch anything else. She was very gracious in the way she treated them and the rest of the party. There are so many interesting artifacts in the mansion. The story of the Browns... even some of the sad parts..was fascinating. The mansion is NOT an activity for the handicapped. There are three floors and a basement. (There is an elevator, but its well over one hundred years old and ran with the use of a strong butler and a rope!)

Brought my family to tour only to be turned away because the tour is not kid friendly. The owner told us that another museum would be better for our family. She proceeded to tell me how to get to the other museum. I let her know we really wanted to tour the house but she assured me that this was not the tour for us. Big mistake Brown Mansion, we would have loved you.

I was at the Brown Mansion for a wedding and the host was very hospitable. She handled all the craziness of the wedding party and guests with a glad and gentle spirit. The mansion and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. I encourage people to take a tour or consider it for a venue.

Would have given this gorgeous place 5 stars, had it not been for the awkward tour times. When I called I was told to show up 15 minutes early, at 2:45 pm. The tour guides did not show up until 3pm. I will note too, tours are Monday through Friday 1-3pm. You have to show up at the exact time or they will not let you in. Other than that the tour was wonderful. Such a captivating piece of history to enjoy. The browns were an innovative family, and knew how to live lavishly. I recommend this to anyone visiting the town of coffeyville.

If you love architecture this is a must see if your near Coffeyville, Ks. This home has it all, a ballroom, beautiful entry, Tiffany glass doors and windows and was one of the first homes with central heat.

I toured the Brown Mansion with my extended family (14 of us) and it was amazing! Everyone enjoyed it, theres something for everyone in the place. Such a beautiful piece of history. And while youre in town, dont forget to check out the Dalton Defenders Museum and Aviation Heritage Museum too. Our tour guides, John and Wendy, were amazing! And so helpful in getting our day set up!

It looks beautiful from the outside and the little bit of the inside we could see looked nice. This isnt exactly a tourist destination so youd think theyd be accommodating when they do get tourists who just pop on on a whim (like we did), but no. We were a few minutes late for the 1:00 tour and they said we cant walk around and look at the place by ourselves, nor would they let us catch up with the current tour group. And there are only two tours a day on the days theyre open, not on the hour like the website (that we looked at afterward) says. So we came, were given the cold shoulder, and left.

We have been here many times to try and tour the mansion but have been unable to see it. In the winter they were closed for repairs, now they are only open Thursday thru Saturday if youre lucky. We went today which is a Saturday thinking we would get a tour, we went up to the door and it said open so we tried to go in and it was closed. No one is ever there, they are never open and it is a huge disappointment. Never again will I try to tour this place it is a waste of time.

The reason the place isnt open much is because it depends on volunteers to do tours, and they just dont have enough. We toured with Mrs Rigdon and it was great. Very interesting place and story.
