Actually I drive by and have never visited, I need to do that sometime. I have lived here for years do not have an excuse for not doing that. I know it is bound to be a nice tour. We have a number of HIDDEN TREASURES in about 100 or so miles around Clovis, NM. Like this tour, and we have everything from dinosaurs, lava flows, to old Fort Sumner. Now I know I have to go do this tour.
Exceptional visit, the knowledge and experience of Kenneth and David second to non. Hands on experience, very personal and to be in the place with all the recording equipment, instruments of the era and the living quarters in touching distance! Magical and a must to visit for any Buddy Holly/Norman Petty fan
I was like a kid in a candy shop. Ken Broad is the nicest man with a rich history of those times. But to be able to sit in Buddys seat at the kitchen table and hold his coffee cup was amazing. And the stories they can tell you about Norman are priceless. For a man who couldnt read music, he did pretty well.
The Field of Dreams of Rock and Roll. Living history. We are from Cleveland Ohio and this impressed us more then the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Incredible day! So informative. Had no idea how many hit records were made there. Well worth the drive.
Its like stepping into a well preserved time capsule.
I really enjoyed it! It is an amazing piece of history!
If you want to see and learn about the roots of rock and roll this is the place to go. Lots of memorabilia and the gentlemen that gives the tour is so knowledgeable on the history of music that started at this studio. Definite must see.
It was awesome to see all of the amazing things
Cool place to visit. History
Now if you are a Fan of Rock and Roll, the studio tour with Kenneth Broad (sometimes with David Bigham) should be required attendance. To learn all about Norman and Vi is a real treat and highly recommended. Then you really should stop by the Rock and Roll Museum in the Chamber building to see and experience even more re the Clovis Sound.
It was Great! Very cool to talk with a friend of Noman and Vi Petty. The place is like a time capsule. Better visit soon because the performers that played with Buddy Holly are getting older. We met David Bigham of Roses was also there for our visit. He was a back up singer at the studio.
Ive been to Motown, Stax, and Abbey Road. This one blows them all away in terms of the incredible hands on experience and the amount of original items, not only on display, but in full working order! The studio could not have a better steward than Kenneth Broad, and having David Bigham there singing along to the vocal parts he recorded in the 50s gave me goosebumps. This is a must for any fan of Buddy, Norman, or major rock and roll history. I cant say enough! Just go!!!
Wow..... what a place! And what a thrill for our tour guides to be David and Marilyn Bigham who brought the studio to life!! Thank you so much!!!
All these places are great
Wow, what a gem of a find! The studio where Buddy Holly, (and many others) recorded some classic tunes from the 50s and 60s. Check it out! Wonderful place.
