The Bucksaw Resort is a must see for yourself experience. The rooms were comfortable, clean and nice. The restaurant has a great menu. You will want to eat there everyday of your stay. The owners /staff welcomes you and makes sure you have everything you need. The owners are awesome!! I will be going back.

We love bucksaw for the marina. We stayed at the cabins for something fun and diffrent for a couple of days instead of RVing it like we normally do.I should have made sure the cabins were handicap friendly (they are not), steps to the porch and again into the cabin, but we made due. My partners wheelchair did not fit in the bathroom, so that made the 2 night stay difficult for us. But if you are able bodied, it would be a good place to stay.They had the cabins stocked with dishes and everything you need and everything was really clean.The fire pit is located across the street from the cabin on a pretty good size incline of gravel so we were not able to use this while there.My daughter loved the pool, but there is no hot tub at this location as advertised at the pool.We did get to see several chipmunks so close that they come right up to you at the pool!They playground looked like they were remodeling it, so my daughter only got to swing but it looked like it will be nice when done.We enjoyed walking around the bucksaw area and the docks.

Nice size camping sights. We are traveling with a boat. Plenty of room for boat, camper and truck. Clean shower house and laundry room. Nice marina with convenience store. Great restaurant.

My family and myself have been enjoying the bucksaw Marina for years. Their staff is only always friendly and helpful. This past weekend when taking our new/used boat out on the water our trailer boards were rotten. The Bucksaw owner hopped right in and made sure we had boards to put on our trailer so we could safely pull our boat out of the water.

Excellent family place to spend a week or weekend. Friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately for us our pontoon broke down our first evening out but all it took was one phone call to the resort and they notified the owners and they came out to find us. Plus offered to let us use his workshop if we thought was something we could fix on our own. We stayed on one of the floating cabins on the lake. Very clean and full kitchen so we didnt have to go out to eat everyday. And convenient for fishing off the dock since our boat is out of commission. Our second visit, definitely not our last!

Bucksaw was great as always. Tenderloin Sandwich w/ onion sticks. Well worth the trip from Springfield Mo

Nothing fancy, but just right for lake life. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Nice little restaurant. People who work there are very nice.

My oldest son and I had started fishing pretty early this day. By 2:30pm we were getting hungry!Ethan and I were the only customers eating at that time. We got our food quickly with friendly service % We will definitely go back when we are in the area. My son and I are from central Illinois.

It is a very nice place to stay. RV park is very clean and well kept.

Went with fishing guided tour with Josh Jackson. It was rainy and awful day. He professionally made sure we were safe and when able to fish in what we thought would be a short window before storms hit, we got limit. We were able to spider rig with minnows and he attentively knew when to take the hit and suggested with ease. He took care of every pole, bait, and snag. Very instructive as well. Then cleaned and filleted all the fish, bagged and placed in our coolers, without a thought.We then ate the tenderloin, highly recommended, at Marina. Cant blame them for the weather. They treated us well and we just happened to catch fish!Josh is in pic with our haul.

Absolutely amazing. Restaurant has delicious food, great atmosphere, nice cabins and very friendly staff. Highly recommend staying there.

This is the best resort on the lake lots of water activities to do it is just outside clinton mo and close to sidalia mo clinton mo you take 13 south then right on highway 7 then right on highway uu to get here from highway 65 north side south on 65 right on highway c then left on highway 7 to get here but the not as easy way but quicker way is 65 south to exit highway 7 warsaw mo take highway 7 west left on highway uu to get here 5 minutes faster way but harder route to find here 4 hours outside saint louis mo

Great the last part of our anniversary we stopped there the floating kitchen I was scared at first but it was a great room

This is a hidden gem everything from the folks to management there is nothing to dislike about this place. Rick the New Owner is doing a fantastic job. There is no better Marina & Resort to get it all.....fishing, boating, swimming, camping, great food. Its all here. Best kept secret on this side of MO.

Ok. I will add detail as you asked. I stayed here with my family I’m not old to stay here by myself so you would not see my name on your guest list. The cabins were actually not too bad! I don’t really understand why the fire pits are so far up the hill. One of my family members is handicap so we’ve should’ve checked to see if they were handicap because they were definitely not. Kinda our fault though. But there was no handicap places, the only handicap thing was maybe the hotel on water and the bottom floor of the main hotel, cabins are not set up for this so if your going with a handicap person don’t get a cabin. Cabin was cute inside and it comes loaded with utensils for the kitchen and things like that so it’s pretty nice. The pool was good, But there is no hot tub as they say there is. You would think that they would change their sign to say no hot tub but no. The beds were ok and the couch that turns into a bed was nice. The air conditioner will make a very loud whistling squeaking noise all through the night which woke us up multiple times. Over all I felt this place was ok but my family travels a lot and I would stay somewhere else. I feel this place was about a 2 star. It depends on what your wanting in a stay if you should come here or not.

Nice quiet place but lacking attention as far grass not mowed, picnic tables are old and need of repair, fire pit rings are rusted and barely a ring there. Many campsites are closed and others very grown up in weeds. Restroom were clean and some showers did work just had to find the one with hot water. We did enjoy our time camping here otherwise.

I had a guided crappie fishing the fishing was on and off and they quit biting at 9:30 am. The guide was great and everything at marina was good, but when I got home I had a misc item for $25.00 receipt wondering what that was for.

I didnt stay to book a room, I was basically just checking it out. Very nice Marina and all of the slips for the boats were pretty nice. They actually have hotel rooms / kitchenette that literally sits on the water. my next trip down to Truman I will definitely be staying at Bucksaw.

Great place for a spring get away.Friendly staff checked us into our well equipped cabin. The housekeeping staff kept us very comfortable.We scheduled bucksaw guide service two days, Joshua is a great person that put us on limits of fish.Marina folks are great and the restaurant has tasty meals and super nice staff. Thursday night AYCE shrimp boil is really good!! We already booked our fall vacation and next spring.

Fished yesterday with Josh and had a great time. The three of us caught 43 nice sized crappie. Was the first time Ive caught this many crappie in a long time. Josh knows how to fish and was a great guide.PS: We ate lunch at the marina and the food was really good.

My kids and I were there for a guided fishing trip and we used Joshua Jackson he was outstanding. First and foremost he put us on the fish but he also made it fun for my kids as well.

Stayed in the Suite for a tournament last night. No power to charge boat batteries. So, after being told the only available power would be in a rented boat slip, we rented for $19.21. Only to come out Saturday morning to fund out breakers (for the rented slips) tripped overnight and batteries didnt get charged. Asked for money back...NO.ALSO, room is mediocre at best. Beds are terrible. No coffee filters...2 ply TP...no paper towels...coffee cups are like a little kids play set. Will not stay there again. Will stay in Clinton.

Have to give 5 stars, not for the stay, but for the courtesy Bucksaw gave....Planned a 4 day weekend of fishing and relaxation, reservations set and a week prior to date they called to inform me the water level was high and by the time we had planned the boat ramps and parking would be under water. Which gave me the time to reschedule plans.Now anyone interested in the stay for fishermen. 5 stars, get a room above the marina, get a covered slip for the boat. Fish all day, get back eat at the marina (great breakfast, lunch and dinner. Go back to the boat cast out from the docks, catch some big ol catfish. Oh yhea there is a patio with umbrellas for outside enjoyment.

New owners have been work on the resort, the hotel is updated and looks nice! The restaurant has a new menu and the fush tacos are amazing!! Updates are so good i put my camper back in the campground for the year!

Bucksaw Marina is a great place the new owners are nice people and have done a lot of upgrades and still are was glad they kept Gary . We will be there next week to catch more blue cat

The best resort on truman lake because it has the most stuff and it is beautiful i reccement going boating and fishing here

We spent a week here,the owner was rude about boat slips and where we parked the boat that I was only riding in. Made a point to say something about letting it slide this time to me when I wasnt even the boat owner. The three buckets of minnows we bought everyday seemed short and had tons of dead loss everyday,as well as cost more then other places around Warsaw. Along with no selection of tackle and the high price of food make the out dated cabins and the rest of the problems hard to over look. On to the cabins,they are very outdated and look like they started to renovate the outsides and just stopped half way through,and for the cost of the cabins and lack of amenities make this one of the worst places to stay. On the plus side the boat ramp is free so that is why I will give them one star. Best of luck if you decide to stay here. Look at the amount of bad reviews and take that as an indication of what your stay will be like.

The marina is where my folks park their boat. Its a nice place with cabins available for rent. The cabins are clean but could use some modernization. Had dinner there on a th Thursday night boiled shrimp all you can eat. Unfortunately the ac was out and it was unbearably hot. Th em put a fan on us, which helped. The marina has a pull up area for fuel and a small dining area. Bathrooms with hot and cold water. A good place to put your boat. Owner is nice. Cable down the different slips would be a huge bonus.

Great new owner of the Marina and this weekend it has officially reopened from the flood!!! Kitchen and all!

My go to camping spot.

I felt there was an overall lack of attention to a large part of the campground. It must be said that I was under the weather with a broken leg at the time of our visit, and my discomfort may have colored my opinion. However, my husband LOVED it and wants to spend a lot of time there in the upcoming season.

Great place to fish and buy live bait

Best people. Best fishing. Best hospitality. I dont know of any other place on Earth where you can sleep in a fully-functional kitchenette thats floating on one of the most beautiful lakes on earth. Then, go get ya an exceptional breakfast just a few steps down from your room. Then, go catch your fill of crappie, catfish, white bass, and an occasional buffalo (all before noon). If your heart desires, you have plenty of time left in the afternoon to go whack a gobbler! After harvesting that Ozark Mountain thunder chicken, you still have time in the evening to crack open an ice cold one and fish off the dock. Clean your catch right there in the cleaning station, toss your slabs in the freezer, get a hot shower, put your head on a soft pillow, repeat in the A.M.

Home away from home, good fishing, good food, good people!

Great place to stay if you just want to hang your head after being on the lake. Stay away from the restaraunt though. Really simple order (2 chicken + 2 cheeseburgers) took over 40 mi utes and were extremely well done.

I only ate breakfast here so I can’t comment on lodging. The food was quite good although the service seemed to lag a bit. I enjoy my coffee but refills were MIA.

This is confusing that it is so close to the federal park named Bucksaw.. The national Bucksaw campground is very nice, plenty of room to spread out. The Bucksaw resort didnt offer to much as far as grass or beachfront..

Restrooms were clean, but not well lit. Got there at 1:45 as the restaurant was closing. No cook appeared to be there anyway. Coffee and cinnamon roll was good, but that’s all I could get.

The fried catfish was good but drinks were expensive. For what we got it seemed awfully high. We made a drive from Clinton to try it. We could of had much more for the money on the square. Or over to Montrose to Short Street. Expected more!

Trying to take my dad for a fishing trip hes not doing well and this was very important to us. Called ahead spoke to a lady she said 1/2 day in the bass boat was $135. She told me it runs 1-6. Perfect well be over at 1230. Get there and not only is the boat not working starter went out earlier. My dad says well the pontoon is the same price lets do that...kid points to his paper that says $130 and tells us thats actually $175 for 1-5pm(its also $130 online and he told us they close early too). The kid has an attitude and shouldnt be working with the public. We said thank you and left he didnt offer to make it right he just walked away. I understand this is a family business maybe they should sell to someone who understands the importance of family.

The lodge was fair, people were nice but beds and pillows like concrete. The marina was terrible, we rented a 14 person pontoon boat with a 125hp, the boat never worked right from the start. It took over an hour to get it started, it was dirty with bugs all over, and torn up, and it barely held 9 of us. The motor was dumping fuel and oil into the lake and it wouldnt pull a tube behind it which is what we requested when we rented it. Then it quit working in the middle of the lake and a storm came and we were stranded until someone came to tow us back. They offered to charge us for 1/2 a day plus gas which was not a good deal as 4 hrs of gas cost us $100 because it all dumped out of the boat. The manager (the owners son Eric) was not nice or helpful. I think this place is taking advantage of ppl on purpose as another guest that night told us they had the exact same issues with their boat as we had. Also one of the employees said yeah that motor isnt very good on that boat so why would you send a family of 9 out into the lake to tube with a bad boat other than the fact they wanted our money. They knew the boat was bad to begin with and dont go by the pictures on their website as they are not accurate that pontoon looks nice and nothing like the one we got. Very disappointed and ruined our weekend trip, will never go back and will spread the word that this place is taking advantage of families!!!

Had a great time but the WiFi was not usable and the facilities and outdated. You get you pay for there. The marina bait shop was convient.

Never Again! If you rent one of their junky pontoon boats, be sure you inspect and take your OWN pictures of the prop before you leave the marina because you wont be leaving that place without additional charges. We are very responsible people that have never incurred damage charges on equipment or property that we have rented. We feel we were bamboozled! So... if you do rent, bring extra money!
