Part of the Playhouse Square complex, the Mimi Ohio Theater is older, ornate and good for smaller shows. The seats are old, small and not the most comfortable, but for a good show, who cares? If you can, prepay for parking when you buy tickets.

Cleveland has an awesome Theatre district. I saw a show in the Ohio Theatre and the sound was amazing. On a sad note, one of the staff gave my prepaid mezzanine seats away for some unknown reason, but the other staff found me some great orchestra seats center stage to replace them. I missed a part of the show while they figured it out. It would have been nice to get a free seat on a future event. All in all a great experience.

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to visit the theater for a class field trip with kindergartners!! This place is absolutely amazing and has so much history that I could get lost for hours just looking around. We really enjoyed Emily Brown and the Thing! The childrens theater is absolutely amazing. Our kindergartners sat through the entire thing completely silent and loving every minute of it! The Cast and Crew did such an amazing job! This made it such a great outing for us!!

Very nice traditional venue but the sound is always to loud, usually so loud you can barely hear some vocalist. Instruments are very loud in ths sound chamber people, Im listening to Jazz, pop, R&B not heavy metal !...Concessions: The pretzels are always good. Drinks are inconsistent. May I have some Cranberry Juice (insert drink of your choice here) with my ice...?!

Saw the Jungle Book today it was awful my little niece forward slash god daughter said the same thing too. From an adult perspective it was heavily politicized during the introduction by the same cabal that is against antibiotics and flush toilets in your home. Additionally the actors did not have any character of voice they spoke as if they were reading the script. When it was over my four-year-old little angel said yay its finally over we can go home I told her I couldnt agree with her more and I said you and I suffered through a miserable play together. Her response back to me was quote Yeah we sure did didnt we.

I confess that I am biased about the Cleveland Playhouse Square theaters. I volunteer as a Redcoat. We are so very fortunate to have such beautiful theaters and such a wide variety of entertainment in our city. Come experience the sights and sounds...Broadway shows, kids plays, comedy, concerts, jazz right at our fingertips. All the theaters get 5 stars from me!!

Thanks to Playhouse Square for their generous support of the CRS mission throughout the year and especially for this great evening! Cleveland does ROCK and were on a ROLL, because of great partners like Playhouse Square!

Ive been to all of Playhouse Squares seven or so theatres, and this is one of my favorites. Its a gorgeous old theatre in the style of the nearby Hannah and State theatres, and everything looks well-maintained. Its not nearly as large as the State next door and doesnt have its own street entrance (you enter through the lobby of the State Theatre), where all tickets are sold or picked up. But the Ohio Theatre is small enough so that no matter where you sit, you have a good view of the stage, and you are never far from an aisle or exit. I took off one star for a few minor things: lack of easy signage for first-time visitors, only one set of restrooms for this theatre and theyre downstairs (but modern and well maintained), and the concession vendors only sell high-carb junk foods... nothing healthy or low-carb, and definitely not keto friendly. Its almost 2020 and you can get healthier options almost anywhere, so why not also at a group of theatres that supposedly cater to smart, relatively health-informed audience members with money to spend??

Went with a group for my wifes school to see Schrooge. The parking crew and Cleveland Police who were assisting the bus parking were very rude and disorganized for the bus drivers. The dismissal was even worse. The bus drivers were not told anything. The play was great!! They just have to be a bit more organized for school day events.

My family and I drove up from Columbus to see “Weird” AL, and we had a good time at the Ohio Theater. It’s a nice smaller venue that is close to 100 years old and it look like it’s been looked after very well. The seating is typical for this type of theater, not a lot of room but comfortable and adequate. We purchased the parking pass for the attached garage, and that made our visit much easier in a town we weren’t familiar with. Overall the staff was helpful and we had a great time at the theater. If the opportunity arose again, I would not think twice about attending a performance here.
