Seriously, one of the best art museums in the country. You could easily spend 4 hours there and not even realize that much time has passed! The rich diversity of art was impeccably displayed and a beautiful feast for the eyes and art soul. Anyone with any interest of art whatsoever, needs to make a trip here. From the casual browser to the educated connoisseur, everyone will find something that will dazzle and amaze them.

I have been to many museums across the US. This is the top for me! The general museum is free, and fees for special exhibits are nominal. They are following strict COVID procedures during the pandemic. The displays here are well-organized and fully explained with narrative plates. As a retired art teacher, I took at least 30 busloads of kids to this museum over the years. It is dear to my heart, and a shining star in the state of Ohio, as well as the entire country.

The door diversity of the collection is amazing. I hadnt visited in several years. When I lived in Cleveland almost 30 years ago, I visited often. Coming back, I was pleasantly surprised at the expansion and the depth of the collection. My only negative critique is that I would love to see more display of art from the eastern and southern parts of Africa. Otherwise, it was great to visit the art museum. Ill put my neck out but I think this is one of the best art museums Ive ever visited.

This museum was so incredible. The tickets were free and parking was easy to find. I was very impressed with the size of this museum! It was huge and had so many different exhibits to check out from modern art to embroidery to ancient egypt artifacts to medieval knights. I spent about 3.5 hours here and didnt even see everything. Definitely coming back!

I live here and have been through it probably 2 dozen times. The painting I view to be the most asinine is the one I think and talk about the most. By extension, you could say its had more impact on my life than those tethered to the walls around it. Was it really designed to provoke this thought or just does it just suck as hard as I think it does?

Decided to treat myself before my BD to some culture. Dont come here nearly enough! But I do appreciate the fact that my first visit was via elementary school back In the 70s. Love the interactive touchscreen wall that Art Museum curators from Los Angeles CA, came to experience several years ago. a truly learning experience! I also like the fact that you can take pictures (dont touch! ) next to your favorite piece of artwork with a non-flash camera! More Clevelandlanders should take advantage of this free to visit treasure (reservations. and scannable tickets required on-line before visit during the Pandemic)

This museum has one of the finest collections in the country. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time. Nice cafe ( limited now due to Covid-19), excellent modern art collection. Main galleries are free, but make an appointment during quarantine. Youll see great art, but the collection rotates, so if youve come before there will likely be lots of different pieces out.

This is a great art museum! It was bigger than expected, which was awesome. However, it didnt have any contemporary art. I know that there is a contemporary art museum in town, so thats understandable. There was a lot of European traditional art, some really impressive pieces. There was some really neat ancient artifacts too from all over the world! I highly recommend this museum!

An INCREDIBLE art museum that is FREE to get in. My favorites are the ancient Egyptian exhibit with the sarcophagus and other artifacts and paintings by the old masters, especially the Renaissance period. Another favorite exhibit is the Armour Court with suits of Armour from the knights & their horses. The swords are also beautifully designed. The museum also offers traveling exhibits: some for a fee & they are always well worth it, but the general exhibits are always free. Street parking is hard to get, but they have a parking garage attached. There is also a great restaurant. This is truly a GEM in Cleveland.

The Cleveland Art Museum will forever be one of my favorite places to go. I park in the garage which is 10.00. The streets have meter parking if you prefer. The curators are always informative and welcoming. I am always thanked before I leave and greeted when I come in. There is almost always something going on in the first floor. I’ve seen crafting sessions, musical performances, etc. Their temporary exhibits are always a treat (my favorite was the water lilies).I love scanning works on my phone, the interactive exhibits, and even the kids area (19 still counts as a kid...right?). It is always a pleasure and I never want to leave. The cafe has great food and a wide variety of choices. If you want a perfect day, please go here. You won’t regret it!

I had no idea that this was a famous place, or that it is second only to the Met in New York City (according to my art professor friend). All I can say is, I went in thinking, oh great another museum - I will be bored to tears. Instead I was delighted. The displays were interesting, there was very much information, the docents were very knowledgeable, and there is even an app to download to describe virtually every permanent item on display. Besides all that, the place is beautiful, a beautiful mix of old & new, a more than 100 year old building, and more modern buildings, connected by a beautiful atrium. This is a marvelous place. I had no idea Cleveland had such diamonds. Bonus, the museum store has very reasonably priced items, unlike very many museum stores I have visited in other places.
