If you need something to do on a weekend, I highly recommend you go to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Its a great educational outing and your kids will love it! The dinosaur exhibit was by far one of the best. The employees were not only nice but knowledgeable of all historic events and animals. They allow you to pet certain animals in their wildlife exhibit such as snakes, ferrets, turtles, lizards, and geckos, with restrictions of course. A family membership is offered which includes guests and in my opinion it’s better to get that for the year as opposed to getting single tickets at $17 per person every visit. If you go please remember to social distance, though there is ample space and temperature checks prior to entering the building. Thanks to the staff for allowing my experience to be safe and enjoyable. I will be returning soon!

Nice place but it seems like the employees are just there to enforce mask-wearing(just like every other place on earth). No one is pleasant or friendly or helpful they just want to make sure youre wearing your mask properly with the exception of the guy in the planetarium. Going out isnt fun anymore.

It consists of dinosaurs, gems, and animals. Lots and lots of animals. I didnt want to see animals so I didnt go to the zoo. I guess I expected more history then dinosaurs and glaciers. And living animals. The staff were friendly is the only reason I gave it 2 stars. If you want to know about history this is not the place for you. If you want to know about dinosaurs this is the place for you.

Great exhibits as expected. Perfect for kids of all ages and adults, too. There was a pop-up snapping turtle exhibit where the staff let a turtle roam around while she gave interesting facts. Social distancing was no issue and is handled well. Overall a wonderful couple hours with the family looking at some old things.

Its a great place. Has its own parking.Just really appreciate museums, and I hope they continue to have funding to host knolwlege for future generations.Museums personnel are nice, they were a it clueless when we asked about where the animal show is. However, they are very nice and let us stay a few extra minutes to finish the museum. The diansouar portion was satisfying and the planitarium show was cute and worth it in my opinion. The cafeteria had very limited options but they do have coffee. There are hand sanitizers everywhere. The out door animal collection is a actually nice, not a zoo or anything, but just enough to be a cute little addition. I recommend this place.

Visited on a Sunday during the 10am reservation time and the amount of people in there was perfect. Everyone wore masks and were social distancing. This was my first going as an adult (went many times as a kid for field trips). The interactive exhibits that once had buttons had pedals to push the buttons. The dinosaur exhibits are incredible to see. The outside canopy area is awesome! I was really impressed by it. I bought a family membership ($100) because it was more cost efficient for my family of 5 to buy the membership and go at least twice to get my moneys worth. Cant wait to go again!

I love this museum! My family and I got in time to see the additional dinosaur exhibit, which was phenomenal and really put into perspective of how large said extinct creatures were. I will not go here. They need to adjust cost for COVID as there are a lot of exhibits that are closed. They would probably tell me “ these are difficult times and we’re doing what we can to stay open” but we’re ALL OF US having a hard time trying to stay afloat. Even before the COVID crisis prices were to freaking high. This isn’t New York.

I recently visited the museum with my family this past weekend. And wow was I disappointed. Too many exhibits are not available. And the price you pay for what you get is really a scam.Needless to say, we were disappointed. It’s bad enough we are forced to try to enjoy ourselves while wearing masks. And that our 3 year old also had to wear one - despite that not being a part of the mandate by the Governor. So much nonsense, such a waste of money and time. And we came from two hours away. Just a huge letdown. We won’t be returning.

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is an excellent museum. Highly educational and interactive, folks of all ages can learn about the past in a fun way.The museum has an outdoor area that is comparable to a small zoo. Its set up quite nicely and full of various animals and plants. There are multiple sections to this museum, so theres an area for everyone. The Natural History Museum was a great experience, but not one I would do often. We found the security personnel to be very friendly, as well as the service desk to be above average. There wasnt as much to do as the Cleveland Museum of Art (free), or the Science Center (a bit cheaper). The exhibits range from cutting edge and super interesting, to a collection of rock pieces from around the state. Overall, recommended, but not for those who bored by science and history.

Literally the smallest museum of natural history I have ever visited in the country. The first building you see with a museum sign when driving there is actually their parking lot, which is bigger than the museum. The museum has only one floor and additional exhibits in basement. I saw everything in 45 minutes. And why put a Wilson basketball where it says an earth?? Gotta be a joke! The basement is more like an office area with staff walking and moving things around. Very unprofessional and visitor unfriendly. They charged you $17 for very limited exhibits. It should be $5. Since parking is $10, it should be free.

After getting over the initial shock of paying 76 dollars for my family of 5 to enjoy the museum, we had a blast. We went on a Sunday, it wasnt overly crowded, and we spent around 3 hours here. The layout is a bit confusing and its pretty easy to get lost. There is an entire room for kid exploration in the basement that would have been quickly overlooked had we not thoroughly read the map! Take your time as there are doors that are seemingly hidden in the exhibits that will lead you to another area.

The museum is amazing! What we got to see if it anyway. We paid full admission price but the upstairs and downstairs were both closed off, along with many of the interactive displays. You have to prepay for all tickets, but I didnt know that to go to the planitarium it was a combo ticket so of course when we got there there was only one spot available. My fault.... The ladies that check you in are very friendly. We purchased that spot for our 12 year old. By the time it was time for the planitarium to start, we had already walked the main circles twice. We went outside to see the animals. What a fantastic set up. Unfortunately, it was sprinkling and cold. When we got back in, our 3 year old was not complying with his mask. He was thirsty so we went to the cafeteria. We walked in but they said it was closed. The water fountains we also closed. Now I have a toddler crying for water and no place in this museam to get any. We were then approached by a man that worked there. Im guessing security Asks that the toddler please put his mask on. I forced him to which lasted about 2 minutes at which point the man came back and said, I dont mean to harrass you but maam could you please push your mask up? Mine had indeed fallen below the tip of my nose while dealing with the 3 year old. I couldnt wait for the planitarium to be over so we could leave. We were very distanced from everyone. A toddler is not ALWAYS going to be compliant with a mask, especially when a parent can not meet their basic needs. This trip wasnt a bust tho, he got to see his dinos. Some anyway. I wouldnt go back until the attractions are open and the mask police chill. It wasnt at all whT I would call a great experience.

We went shortly after they first reopened to the public during the pandemic, and although they were supposedly only allowing a certain number of people in at a time (through reservations), they allowed people to go wherever they wanted to within the museum, whenever they wanted....thus there were far too many people in some areas of the museum at one time...especially in the special (dinosaur) exhibit. Once in the exhibit room, several people removed their masks...one gentleman sneezed and coughed without his mask, and then put it back on. Others just kept them off and let their kids run around. Almost no one socially distanced. My husband and I got tired of asking people to please wear masks and getting icy stares or nasty comments in return. We did report what was happening to some staff, but by the time we could find them, the “perpetrators” had moved on to another room..We love the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and have been donors and members for years, and will hopefully continue to do so. Unfortunately, due to my age and health issues, I will not be back to visit until there is a viable vaccine to protect me from the Covid-19 virus....the Museum is unable to do so adequately.

Kids activity center in the basement is fun for toddlers.CON : Much of the museum is horribly outdated. Displays look like they havent been updated in decades.
