This was so fun! Easy parking, and you head into the gift shop to buy your tickets. Every tour starts at a quarter after each hour. The tour guide, Melissa was I formative and interactive. The house was just like movie and you could pick up items, sit on the couches, get up the cupboards, go outside in the back yard or upstairs! We then went to the museum across the street and saw props, news paper articles, real items from the movie, tribute items, etc. The cars were definitely a must see too!

I loved the movie so when I decided to visit Cleveland for vacation this was on my to do list. The house is the one used for the actual movie and everything in it is replicates the real props are in the museum across the street. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but made too much small talk but once they are done talking you are allowed walk around the two floors and interact with everything. I would definitely tell anyone who liked the movie to make a stop here

So much fun! This is just a feel good place. If you’re a fan of the movie it is well worth the visit. You are able to go into the house, see the boys bedroom, the leg lamp, tree, etc. the Bumpus house is next door and they have a great gift shop. You can only go inside if you’re on a guided tour. Isaiah was a GREAT guide! He made the whole visit. Thank you Isaiah!!!

This place is adorable! I love that the house has been in-restored so it is an exact replica of the original house. The house is full of time period replica props that you can touch, sit on, play with and recreate your own movie scenes. We were given lots of fun facts and we were given plenty of time to enjoy. Didnt feel rushed at all. There is an incredible gift shop across the street that has EVERYTHING you would ever want to purchase that references the movie. There is also a museum that holds many of the original props and costumes. So fun to see the REAL Red Ryder Bebe Gun! The price to get into the house is a little high, but it gets you into the museum too. I was there with my family ranging in age from 4-67 and we all LOVED IT!

This was a great extra that was included with your tour of the Christmas story house. I absolutely love to go and view the Christmas Story House and Museum located across the street. When events are going on , you are able to see two of the original vehicles used in the movie. You are also able to purchase tickets and get a tour of the home. They have remodeled the neighborhood, in order to make everything presentable. I do suggest when visiting this location that you keep personal items on yourself and your vehicles locked if you are not going to be right by them. Because of the commons Steel yards located just down the street, it is not the best area to be in. But I have never personally had any issues while visiting the Christmas Story house but you do need to be aware of the rough area around the Christmas story house. I have visited this area for the 30 years I have been on this Earth and I absolutely love every visit

This was such a fun place to visit! Great for any age! The gift shop, house and museum are all on the same block so you can see them all. The Christmas story items there were nice and there was an abundance of them to choose from of course.

This is a great place to visit if you are in the area, their are 3 buildings, the house, museum, and gift shop, you definitely need to go in all of them, the gift shop is big and sells a remake of almost ever prop. They have several original props and costumes in the museum. The actual house is “interactive” so they have props that you can take pictures with. The tour guide tells lots of facts about the movie and how it was filmed, they also talk about the props and how many still exist and were they are.

If you love the movie like my family does than this is a fun stop. We called ahead and they told us not to drive our RV there since the roads are narrow and one way. So we parked at Home Depot and took the car over. It’s a really cute neighborhood. We paid the $13 each to tour the house and spent a good hour touring the place and going to the museum. Took lots of photos. Our tour guide was very friendly, while the girl who took our ticket money was more like the elves who worked at Bigbys. Across the street is a great gift shop. Overall it’s a fun attraction.

If youre a fan of the movie, youll appreciate getting to stand on Cleveland Street and visit the house where a lot of the filming of A Christmas Story took place. The tour is semi-guided, meaning one of the staff walks you to the house, gives a five minute spiel, then lets you explore the house for a while. The same occurs at the museum, and at the garage. It can be fun for the kids, but it does take about 45 minutes all told.Worth a visit if you have some time and love the movie. I CLE.

I read the book and have seen the film dozens of times. After running A Christmas Story House 10k I finally had the opportunity to experience the house. I travelled from the Buffalo, NY, region to check this out and it was worth it. Many flashbacks from the movie when checking out the various rooms and trying to figure out how it was filmed. The museum is also a must to see as it contains some actual props used in the film. Gift shop has plenty to offer for everyone.A movie fan will truly appreciate this restored house and area, a major award!

Absolutely wonderful experience for fans of the movie. Definitely expect it to be busy near the holidays. Also be forwarned that the surrounding neighborhood is fairly rough and you will definitely want to be locking your car and hiding your valuables. I have loved the Christmas Story movie for many years. Seeing the house only enhances the warm feelings I already have. Our guide was knowledgeable about the house and its role in the making of the movie. The house is interactive as they say so you can pick up things sit in chairs take pics. That makes the experience even better. I was in a large tour group so it was harder to get all the photos without people in them. But I managed to still get some awesome pics. We were there around 2pm which explains why it was busy mid morning or late afternoon would be better Im sure. The gift shop was great many items available from affordable to expensive. Admission is $11 and I think that is very reasonable. We had to park on the street no cost there and were fairly close to the house. If you are a fan of the Christmas story movie you have to make a trip to Cleveland to see this house!

Great experience. Worth every penny. The house itself is more for photo opportunities; the museum across the street is where the real props and memorabilia are located. We went on a Sunday first thing in December when they opened. Tours are self-guided. If you buy tickets in advance, you can line up directly in front of the house and bypass the line in the gift shop. The tickets do not say this. Definitely buy tickets in advance during the holidays and skip the lines. The gift shop has a lot of fun choices and gifts, bring money.

I happened upon this place purely by accident and figured id check it out. The gift shop across the street is free and its 14.00 for a tour ticket of the original house. It is a guided tour that lasts about 45 minutes. Its amazing how actually small the inside of the house is, spoiler alert...according to ernie our guide only about 15 percent of the movie was filmed here. Across the street is the museum where they have some of the original props...second spoiler alert, the original leg lamp is not there..it was dstroyed along with about 79 percent of the other props but there are various replicas. The third floor of the house can be rented out for overnight stays as qell as the house next door. Not terrible if you liked the movie...its one of those been there done thats for me...wont go back.

It was amazing to see the house in person. If you think you might be interested, chances are youll enjoy the tour. There is plenty of parking, including a small lot to the left of the house and street parking. The museum and gift shop buildings are directly across the street, so you dont have to park in front of residents homes as long if its not crowded. I went first thing on a Thursday morning in early December, and it wasnt crowded, just 8 people in my group. Also, other reviews have commented on the bad neighborhood. I felt completely safe. Its just an old, working class urban neighborhood like you see in all kinds of large cities. It wasnt dangerous at all. If you like souvenirs and movie related things, youre sure to find something in the large gift shop. And if you opt not to take the tour, you can still walk around outside and take photos of the house. The leg lamp is lit and visible in the front window.

Price of admission is a bit high for a rather superficial tour ($5 would be more reasonable), but they claim to have had over 100,000 visitors in 2017 so they must be doing something right. There were a handful of fun facts about the making of the movie that were interesting to anyone who’s watched it.
